The Hellish Descent is a Capstone Dungeon located in Scosglen in Diablo 4 and is required to unlock Rank 3 of the Seasonal Rank. Learn more about the Hellish Descent, including its location, how to complete it, and its rewards!

Hatred's Foothold in Scosglen
The entrance to Hellish Descent is located in Hatred's Foothold in Scosglen. Rather than manually going to the dungeon location, you can easily teleport inside through the Seasonal Ranking tab.

Hellish Descent Mechanic
In order to fill the Sacrificial Altar, slay enemies within the red circle. Killing enemies outside the circle won't count toward your progress, so make sure you lure them inside.

Completing the Hellish Descent grants access to Rank 3 of the Seasonal Ranking system. Completing the Hellish Descent quest also grants you access to the Pit activity in Cerrigar and the Tower dungeon.
