Black Blade Effects

Black Blade is an Erdtree Incantation that allows the user to fire a blade-like projectile by leaping into the air before performing a downwards slashing attack. Enemies that are hit by this spell will be drained of their HP for 2 seconds and their max HP is reduced by 10% for 15 seconds.

Obtained by Defeating Maliketh, the Black Blade

Black Blade can be obtained by defeating Maliketh, the Black Blade and exchanging his Remembrance to Enia, the Finger Reader at the Roundtable Hold for the spell.

How to Use Black Blade

Used Against a Single Target

The Black Blade effects are particularly effective against a single target, mainly against bosses or enemies with large health pools. It is a good spell for dealing great amounts of damage from a safe distance and gives you enough Poise to use it at close range as well.

It deals Holy damage and scales with your faith attribute, the spell will greatly benefit from the effects of the following talismans. Sacred Scorpion Charm that increases Holy-based attacks by 12% and Two Fingers Heirloom that will raise your Faith attribute, effectively increasing the stat scaling bonus gained.

Can be Followed-up with Another Attack

An additional skill button input will perform another spinning slash that fires the same blade-like projectile that is angled slightly different than the first attack. This spell can also be buffed by the Bloodflame Blade incantation.

Effect Stacks with Blade of Death

Pairing Black Blade with the default weapon skill of Black Knife dagger, Blade of Death, will stack with its effects effectively increasing the amount of damage you can deal to an enemy's max HP.
