Shadow Bait Lore

Lore Description
"Incantation of the Two Fingers' servants, who once served as the assassins of the Roundtable Hold.

Creates a pale gold shadow before the caster, luring foes of human build and attracting their aggression. This incantation can be cast while in motion or crouching, and will still affect foes that are already in a combat state.

It is said that those beguiled by the shadow see within it a hated foe."

Shadow Bait Effects

Shadow Bait is a sorcery spell that allows one to create a pale gold shadow that instantly draws enemy attention, forcing them to attack the shadow instead of the caster. This incantation lasts for 3 seconds, can be cast while moving or crouching, and affect foes already engaged in combat.

How to Get Shadow Bait

Found on a Corpse in Subterranean Shunning-Grounds

Elden Ring - Shadow Bait Location

Progress the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds in Leyndell, Royal Capital until you can reach the other side of the gate, southwest of Underground Roadside site of grace.

The corpse containing the Shadow Bait incantation is guarded by an Omen, dash to the corpse to get the incantation and then make a run for it back to the area where you came from. The Omen will not be able to follow you to that area.

How to Use Shadow Bait

Distract Enemies for Easy Backstab

This spell is ideal for getting behind an enemy so you can perform backstabs. Note that backstabs only work on humanoid enemies.

If you're up against a non-human enemy, this spell is a good distraction that can give you time to use a spell with long casting time like Comet Azur, or charge up a two-handed strong attack.
