"One of the ancient Erdtree incantations. Creates a supple tail that sweeps through foes before the caster. Charging enhances potency. This is a manifestation of the Erdtree's primal vital energies — an aspect of the primordial crucible, where all life was once blended together." |
Aspects of the Crucible: Tail is an incantation that conjures a large tail that sweeps the area in front of the caster. It deals damage upon hit with a chance to break the enemy's stance when using the charged version.
This incantation is often used alonside other Aspects of the Crucible since all three spells require the same amount of Faith.

To get this incantation you must defeat the Crucible Knight sealed within the Stormhill Evergaol in Limgrave. You can travel southwest from the Stormhill Shack's site of grace to reach this location with minimal to no enemy encounters.
While Aspects of the Crucible: Tail does not provide you with hyper armor during cast, it can be perfect for builds that stack up on poise. Use it to punish fellow heavy hitters, by tanking hits then whipping this out during the enemy's recovery animation.
This incantation is not advisable for low poise builds. Pure Faith-casters will not win a damage trading game and will often get knocked out of the animation, anyway.
Hold down L1 or R1 (depending on which hand wields the seal) to cast a second tail swipe after the first. The second swipe will cover a larger area and can sometimes immediately break the stance of your opponent. Again, only use it if your build has enough Vigour and Poise to shrug off interruptions.
To increase the damage dealt by your Aspects of the Crucible incantations, obtain and equip either the Crucible Axe Armor set or the Crucible Tree Armor set. Each armor piece increases the damage of your incantations. To maximize the outgoing damage, equip the entire set.
