Enia, the Finger Reader Interactions

The Mouth of the Two Fingers

Mouth of the Two Fingers

Enia, the Finger Reader speaks on behalf of the giant, necrotic Two Fingers inside Roundtable Hold. She will tell the Tarnished about the Shattering as well as the bidding of the Two Fingers.

Enia will tell players how to use Remembrances and Great Runes. Go to her in order to harness the power of defeated lords via Remembrances.

Sells Items and Draws Power from Remembrances

Remembrances

Enia is your one-stop shop for weapons and armor related to the Bosses in the game. She allows you to use Remembrances in order to receive Boss Weapons such as the Axe of Godrick or the Grafted Dragon.

Additionally, after beating your second shardbearer boss, Enia will become a merchant of sorts, selling the armor of the boss you just killed.

Return to Her After Getting Two Great Runes

After securing 2 Great Runes, players can return to Enia for additional dialogue. She will tell you that the way into Leyndell is now open and you are now free to make your way to the foot of the Erdtree. Enia will reward you with a Talisman Pouch before sending you off to Leyndell.

Ask Her About the Cardinal Sin

Enia - Cardinal Sin

After you beat Morgott, the Omen King, you will find out that the Erdtree refuses to let you pass through its thorns. Melina will then suggest you burn away the thorns.

Return to Enia and she will tell you that the Fingers are no longer moving and give you advice on the cardinal sin of burning the Erdtree.

Weakening as the Fire Starts

Enia - After Burning the Erdtree

Once players meet Melina at the Forge of the Giants, the Erdtree and the Roundtable Hold will start burning. Return to Enia and she will say that she now feels weak, even chastising you when you go to purchase armor or convert Remembrances.

Unresponsive after the Erdtree Burns

Enia Unresponsive

After players defeat Maliketh, Leyndell will turn into the Capital of Ash. Once this happens, Enia will become unresponsive. She will be lying prone in her previous position as the Roundtable Hold continues to burn.

Note: Even in this unresponsive state, players can still go to her to convert Remembrances and purchase the armor of the demigods.

Lore and Trivia

Lore

  • Unlike many of the Finger Reading crones scattered about the Lands Between, Enia still has the opportunity to interpret the messages of the Two Fingers at the Roundtable Hold. She serves as a guide to all that would seek to follow the guidance of grace.
  • Initially, she tells the Tarnished how to go about acquiring Great Runes with which to reforge the shattered Elden Ring. However, when the Tarnished is shunned by the Erdtree, she herself is stumped.
  • Later on, Enia will tell the Tarnished how to pass through the thorns guarding the Erdtree. She calls it a cardinal sin but suggests it, anyway. For unlike her, the Tarnished cannot wait an inordinate amount of time for the Two Fingers to begin moving again.
  • When the Erdtree burns and the influence of the Greater Will wanes, Enia will perish. Her prone form will become one of the many signs of waning life inside the burning, Roundtable Hold.

Trivia

  • When exploring the open world, there will be other finger readers like Enia scattered throughout the world. Notably, the Twin Maiden Husks share the same appearance as the old crones.
  • Enia provides one of the earliest clues as to the secret behind Radagon and Marika. When she tells you that only Godrick was not a direct descendant of Marika, she hints at Radagon and Rennala still producing Empyreans that are directly related to Marika.
  • When Enia mentions that she has only seen two Great Runes brought together once before, she may be referring to Lord Contender Vyke who was the Tarnished closest to attaining the title of Elden Lord.
  • Before Patch 1.03, the option to Receive the Equipment of Champions from Enia simply stated Purchase.

Enia, the Finger Reader Quotes

"Are you that new Tarnished? You've done well. I am Enia, the Finger Reader. I interpret the words of the Fingers, envoys to the Greater Will. Look there. The Fingers tremble. To welcome you, shardbearer."
"Ahh, Great Runes are the stuff of demigods; the children of the goddess, Queen Marika. She who is vessel of the Elden Ring. Tainted by the strength of their runes, her children warred, but none could become Elden Lord. And so grace was extended, to your kind, the Tarnished."
"Listen, the Fingers speak. The Greater Will has long renounced the demigods. Tarnished, show no mercy. Have their heads. Take all they have left. Indeed. But remember one thing. The demigods are each and all the direct offspring of Queen Marika. Godrick the Grafted was but a distant relation... The runt of the litter, his divine blood sorely diluted."[/mid]
"I had my doubts, but...my, look at you. Only once before have I seen two Great Runes together. Look there. The Fingers shudder with exuberance. Fine work, brave Tarnished. The Greater Will is pleased. You have earned the right to become Elden Lord. Now, seek the Erdtree, and an audience with Queen Marika. To become Elden Lord, and restore the Golden Order. The Fingers expect as much from you as they do young Gideon. Take this. A token of farewell."
"Queen Marika is the vessel of the Elden Ring, carrier of its vision. But after the Elden Ring's shattering, she was imprisoned in the Erdtree. A grim punishment for shattering the Order, despite her godhood. The Fingers speak... Marika's trespass demanded a heavy sentence. But even in shackles, she remains a god, and the vision's vessel. Confer Great Runes to become Elden Lord, and join Queen Marika as her consort. Now, you may go."
"Well, you managed to return. You know what this means. The Erdtree has spurned you. The Fingers remain still. Shaken by this turn of events, they are busy consulting the Greater Will. When they are finished, the Fingers will again offer their guidance. But thousands, if not tens of thousands, of moons must first pass. No matter for me. But you? How will you ever manage the wait..."
"Heavens forbid... That is not the domain of mere men. The burning of the Erdtree is the first cardinal sin. And you say you seek the power of the Rune of Death, too? The Rune of Death goes by two names; the other is Destined Death. Unleashing the rune now would be unthinkable... The Fingers would never permit it. Nor would the Greater Will."
"The Fingers, dormant, severing our link to the Greater Will. The realm, and all life, in ruins. Impossible events transpire, beyond the ken of the Fingers. Who is to say that the cardinal sin must be cardinal forever? Go on. Finish the job. Take the course you deem most worthy. Only the smoldering flame in the Great Forge of the Giants, on the highest peak in the Lands Between, can burn the Erdtree. For the flame to burn the Erdtree, a sacrifice is needed. Of one who envisions the flame."
