Vyke's Dragonbolt Lore

Lore Description
"Incantation of Vyke, knight of the Roundtable Hold.

Summons red lightning to bolster both the caster's body and their armament held in the right hand. Enchants armament with lightning-affinity attacks and increases maximum equipment load. However, lightning damage negation will be reduced.

Of all the knights, Vyke the Dragonspear was the one Lansseax loved the most."

Vyke's Dragonbolt Effects

The caster enchants their body and right-hand weapon with red lightning. The caster's equipment load is increased by a slight amount, and the right-hand weapon gains a temporary lightning damage buff.

However, defense against lightning damage is reduced. The effect of this spell lasts for 1 minute and 10 seconds before it expires.

How to Get Vyke's Dragonbolt

Defeat Roundtable Knight Vyke

To obtain Vyke's Dragonbolt you must beat Roundtable Knight Vyke, the optional boss sealed within the Lord Contender's Evergaol. You can locate this evergoal in the eastern section of the Mountaintops of the Giants region, near the Whiteridge Road site of grace.

Aside from this incantation, you can also obtain the Fingerprint armor set from Vyke after defeating him.

How to Use Vyke's Dragonbolt

Only Use if Benefiting from Equip Load Increase

Elden Ring - Only Use if Benefiting from Equip Load Increase
Electrify Armament does the same thing as Vyke's Dragonbolt, except Vyke's Dragonbolt increases equip load by a small amount. If you are not benefitting from this equip load increase, it's better to cast Electrify Armament instead.

Ancient Hero of Zamor and Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in particular are weak to Lightning and would go down faster with a Lightning-imbued weapon.

Do Not Use Against Lightning-Users

This spell decreases your lightning damage negation, so do not use this spell in areas with lightning users, like Leyndell, Royal Capital, and Crumbling Farum Azula.
