"A secret incantation of the capital's ancient dragon cult.

Creates a spear of red lightning and stabs it into the ground from above. On impact, the spear will burst into trails of lightning covering the area.

Spoken of in legend, red lightning is the weapon wielded by the ancient dragons."

Ancient Dragons' Lightning Spear is a Dragon Cult incantation that levitates the caster in the air while they conjure a large spear of red lightning. At the apex of the jump, the caster plunges the spear down into the ground, dealing damage upon contact and generating a wave of lightning in a medium-sized AoE.

Give the Ancient Dragon Prayerbook to Miriel

The Ancient Dragon Prayerbook can be found near Crumbling Beast Grave Depths site of grace in Crumbling Farum Azula. From this site of grace take the west exit past the room with the tables of skeletons on it. In the next room, you'll see a corpse in the middle with the Ancient Dragon Prayerbook.

Give this to Miriel at the Church of Vows to be able to purchase the Ancient Dragons' Lightning Spear incantation.

With Patch 1.04 granting it a quicker cast animation, hyper armor during cast, and a faster recovery time, this spell can finally function as a crowd control incantation and space creator when getting mobbed.

Like its upgraded version, Fortissax's Lightning Spear, the impact of Ancient Dragons' Lightning Spear at point-blank range deals a lot of damage. Players can take advantage of this multiplier and combo the spear as follow-up damage after they stagger, stun, or knock down an enemy or boss.

Damage is Boosted by the Gravel Stone Seal

Players can boost the damage of the Ancient Dragons' Lightning Spear by equipping the Gravel Stone Seal. Since the best Faith-scaling seal is the Erdtree Seal, wield the Gravel Stone Seal in your off-hand while casting with your primary seal to boost the damage of the Ancient Dragons' Lightning Spear significantly.

Since the seal's buff effect is passive, it is not necessary to upgrade your Gravel Stone Seal unless you will be using it as your primary casting seal.
