Lore Description |

"Incantation that channels the power of the ancient dragon Lansseax. Creates a red-lightning glaive and sweeps the area from above. This attack unleashes trails of lightning. Lansseax was the sister of Fortissax. It is said that she took the form of a human to commune with the knights as a priestess of the ancient dragon cult." |
Lansseax's Glaive is an incantation that briefly levitates the caster before conjuring a lightning glaive which sweeps the area in front of them. The glaive deals damage upon hit and knocks back most regular enemies in the game. Additonally, the spell generates a wave of lightning, damaging enemies that are keeping their distance.

You will encounter Ancient Dragon Lansseax twice as you journey across the Altus Plateau region. During your first encounter near the valley, northeast of the Abandoned Coffin site grace, Lansseax will flee if you manage to drain at least a third of its HP.
Lansseax will appear once more at an open field, southwest of the Rampartside Path site of grace. Defeat Lansseax during this encounter to obtain the Lansseax's Glaive incantation.
Lansseax's Glaive allows players to materialize a large magical glaive that deals a wave of lightning damage in front of them after it hits the ground. The wave has a mini-stagger upon contact, interrupting spell casting and special attack animations of regular enemies.
As of Patch 1.04, Lansseax's Glaive now has more poise when casting, increased casting speed, and a faster recovery animation. These buffs have finally made it viable for PvE combat since players are now less likely to get interrupted by basic attacks while casting.
Hitting enemies with the conjured lightning glaive at point-blank range will inflict massive damage while also knocking them back. This is perfect against enemies that like to get in your face during combat. However, do note that despite the buffs, the casting time is still too long to be viable in PvP.
Players can boost the damage of Lansseax's Glaive by equipping the Gravel Stone Seal. Since the best Faith-scaling seal is the Erdtree Seal, wield the Gravel Stone Seal in your off-hand while casting with your primary seal to boost the damage of Lansseax's Glaive significantly.
Since the seal's buff effect is passive, it is not necessary to upgrade your Gravel Stone Seal unless you will be using it as your primary casting seal.
