Lightning Spear Lore

Lore Description
"One of the incantations of the capital's ancient dragon cult.

Summons a lightning spear and hurls it before the caster. Charging causes a lightning bolt to strike the point of impact.

Long ago, Godwyn the Golden defeated the ancient dragon Fortissax, and befriended his fallen foe — an event that gave rise to the ancient dragon cult in the capital."

Lightning Spear can be bought from Miriel, Pastor of Vows for 6000 runes after giving him the Dragon Cult Prayerbook. The prayerbook can be obtained by defeating a knight wandering near the Artist's Shack site of grace in Liurnia of the Lakes.

How to Use Lightning Spear

Used Against a Single Target

The spell is mainly used against a single target and is particularly effective against enemies with low resistance to Lightning damage. Most notably, Lightning damage is strong against heavily armored knights, dragons, and snakelike enemies.

The casting time for this spell is very fast which allows you to throw lightning spears in quick succession. Keeping your distance against aggressive enemies and hurling spears at them is an effective strategy that can be used in both defensive and offensive situations.

Can be Charged for a Small AoE

Charging this spell will increase its overall damage output and creates a small AoE that can hit multiple enemies at once if they are in close enough proximity to each other. The Godfrey Icon talisman can further increase the damage of the charged attack.

Damage Can be Buffed with Additional Equipment

Dragon Cult Incantations are best paired with the Gravel Stone Seal as it will boost the effectiveness of these incantations by 15%. Holding a duplicate Seal in your other hand will stack the bonus effect, further increasing its effectiveness.

Since this is a Lightning-based Incantation, it will greatly benefit from the effects of the Lightning Scorpion Charm but it is to note that while this talisman is equipped, your damage negation is lowered.

It's also effective against mages that use spells with slow casting time.
