The December 15, 2023, version 1.2.3a hotfix for Diablo 4 (D4) includes updates and fixes particular to the new Midwinter Blight seasonal event. Check out the full list of patch notes and adjustments for this hotfix update.

The Diablo 4 Community Manager, Adam Fletcher, announced a new hotfix rollout on the official Blizzard forums. This hotfix addresses Lost Heirloom drops and game stability issues from previous version.

Game Updates

  • Increased guaranteed Lost Heirloom drops from Frigid Husks in World Tiers 1 & 2 from 1 to 2
  • Increased guaranteed Lost Heirloom drops from Frigid Husks in World Tiers 3 & 4 from 2 to 3
  • Greatly increased Blighted Fragments and Lost Heirloom rewards found in Midwinter Nightmare Spoils Caches
Developer Note: We’ve seen feedback from the community that the materials can be a bit tedious to collect due to current drop rates, so we are boosting this up to help players obtain the rewards through the event period. Thanks again for the feedback!

Hotfix 3 Patch Notes - December 13, 2023

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Midwinter Ward Buff was 6 minutes instead of 60 minutes.
  • Fixed an issue where Blood Seekers in the Abattoir of Zir could not spawn if a party member left the dungeon as the Blood Seekers were about to spawn.
  • Stability and performance improvements.

  • Paragon Glyph experience rewarded from the Abattoir of Zir has been increased, with significant increases for higher tiers.

  • Bloodseekers can no longer spawn with the Vampiric or Suppressor Affixes
Developer’s Note: This affects both Bloodseekers encountered throughout Season of Blood content as well as Abattoir of Zir.
  • We’ve restructured the earlier tiers of Abattoir of Zir, and the experience now begins with a difficulty close to that of Tier 90 Nightmare Dungeons. The Monsters continue to rapidly scale, reaching a similar difficulty of Nightmare Dungeon Tier 100 by Tier 5, and matching the current Live difficulty tuning by Tier 10. Additionally, we’ve reduced incoming damage by up to ~20% throughout all Tiers of Abattoir of Zir.

  • Fixed an issue related to leveling Glyphs in the Season Journey.
  • Performance and stability improvements.
