On November 30, Blizzard hosted a Campfire Chat Livestream to update the fans on the Abbatoir of Zir and the Midwinter Blight events coming in Season 2 of Diablo 4 (D4). Read on to learn everything we know so far from the Campfire Chat Livestream.

Everything We Learned
Patch 1.2.3 and Abbatoir of Zir Release Date
Patch 1.2.3 and the Abbatoir of Zir update will be released on December 5, 2023. However, do note that the devs have confirmed that the full patch notes for Patch 1.2.3 will be available as early as Dec. 1 for viewing.
The Abbatoir of Zir is a series of endgame dungeons that allows players to test out their Season 2 builds against dungeons that scale beyond Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons. Challenge all 25 Tiers while using the brand new Tears of Blood paragon glyph to make your mark on D4's 2nd season!

Recap on Malignant Rings
For those that missed it during Blizzcon, the recent Campfire Chat rehashed the introduction of the new Malignant Rings that released on November 7, 2023.
These rings offer select Malignant Heart powers from Season 1 (after undergoing balance changes), and can be farmed through Nightmare Dungeons or Varshan in World Tier 3 or higher.

Midwinter Blight Details
Diablo 4's first Holiday Event, the Midwinter Blight releases on December 12, 2023. This event is set in the Fractured Peaks and will feature a new boss called the Red Cloaked Horror and its minions called Blight Fiends.
On launch, Midwinter Blight will have its own questline, new open-world activities, and enemy variations for players to experience. Players can collect trophies from slain enemies and bring them back to Kyovashad to receive new Seasonal Cosmetics, Aspects, and Elixirs.

Itemization Quality of Life
Much like in Blizzcon, the developers have re-confirmed that there will be a big Itemization Change slated for one of the new seasons, next year. This update is geared to ship during Season 4 based on a statement made by associate game director, Joe Piepora.
However, it is also for this reason that the developers will not be able to deliver on a better item loot filter any time soon. This new item overhaul promises to rework items entirely, which means any loot filter created for Season 2 and 3 will ultimately become obsolete once the item update drops.
Live Question and Answer Segment
The Campfire Chat wrapped up with a traditional question and answer segment. Some of the more notable talking points and confirmations made by the developers are as follows:
- Midwinter Blight Event ends on January 2, 2024.
- The Abbatoir of Zir event ends near the end of Season 2.
- Console players will get a Gold Trading relief fix.
- Similar events to Abbatoir of Zir will come in future seasons.
- Treasure Goblins from Avarice, The Gold Cursed will have buffed loot tables.
- Pay for Power will not be implemented.
- Devs are looking into more color palette options for transmog customizations.
