How to Start Midwinter Blight

Find Gileon the Bard in Kyovashad

The participate in the event, head over to Hibernal Square in Kyovashad and speak to the new character named Gileon, the Bard.

He will warn you about the upcoming storm as he inspires the people of Kyovashad to rally against the threat of the Midwinter Blight.

Defeat Blightfiends Around Kyovashad

Midwinter Blight - Blight Fiend
In this seasonal event, empowered monsters known as Blightfiends are seen roaming around Fractured Peaks. Fight and defeat them in order to get Blighted Fragments, which can be offered at the Collection's Table in Kyovashad.

Destroy Frigid Husks

Frigid Husks
Aside from Blightfiends, you can also aim to destroy the frozen effigies found randomly around the event area, known as Frigid Husk. Demolishing these husks results in a chance to spawn an Elite monster and drop Lost Heirlooms.

Summon the Red-Cloaked Horror

Diablo 4 - Red Cloaked Terror
One of the highlights of this seasonal event is the encounter with the Red-Cloaked Horror, which you can summon by taking on the Blighted Revelry World Event.

Upon defeating this new boss, you'll unlock a new achievement and obtain a Red-Cloaked Trophy.

How to Summon Red-Cloaked Horror

The Interactive Map both shows the location of key points on the map, and doubles as a collectible checker.

  1. Click an icon on the right side to show all the pins of a specific type, or click the magnifying glass button to search for a specific pin by name.
  2. Click a pin on the map to see its name and description, and a relevant picture or video if available.
  3. From here, click Mark as Acquired to indicate that you've gotten a collectible already. This will change its icon on the map to show that it has been collected, and add 1 to that pin type's Counter.
  4. To undo this, click on the same pin and click Restore to unclaimed.
  5. To check how many pins you have marked so far, check the Counter in the bottom left, and click the icon that looks like a checklist to see counters for all pin types.
  6. If the collected pins start to get in the way, you can hide them all by clicking the green Show Pins button on the left side.

This button reveals the Name of every icon currently shown.
Show Pins Button.png Show Pins
This button will toggle between showing and hiding all the pins which you have already marked as acquired.
Full Button.png Fullscreen
This button will change the map display to fill the screen.
Search Button.png Search Mode Toggle
This button will display a searchbar which you can use to search for an individual pin by its name.
Icon Mode Button.png Icon Mode Toggle
In Search Mode, this button will toggle you back to Icon Mode, removing the search bar and displaying the icons again.
All Pins Button.png All Pins
This button is shown along with the Icons on the right when there are over 6 types of pins. Click it for a full selection of all available pin types.
Interactive Map Counter.png Counter
Tracks the number of pins you have of a certain type. The pin type shown is set to the page and currently cannot be changed; however, all pin type counters can be viewed by clicking the checklist icon on the right side.

This icon is found on the right side of the Counter. When a map has more than one pin type, click this icon to see Counters for all pin types.

This icon is found on the top left side of the map. You can press these buttons, or use your scroll wheel while hovering, to Zoom In and Out of the interactive map.

The Blighted Revelry is a new seasonal World Event that spawns accross the Fractured Peaks. This event can appear in all World Event locations in Fractured Peaks; however, it spawns randomly along with the other types of World Events.

Offer Event Materials to the Collection's Table

Once you've obtained Blighted Fragments, Lost Heirlooms, and Red-Cloaked Trophies, you can proceed back to Kyovashad to convert them into Midwinter Proofs at the Collection's Table.

Increasing your Midwinter Tribute

D4 - Midwinter Square Upgrade
Converting these event materials will also increase your Midwinter Tribute. Offering certain amounts of tribute points will give you an upgrade to your Midwinter Tribute Tier. Unlocking more tiers will net you gold and seasonal rewards, as well as upgrade your midwinter square for more seasonal decorations.

Upon reaching Tier III upgrade, you'll get access to the Midwinter Ward, which wil give you a damage buff against the enemies you can encounter in the Midwinter Event. You'll also now be able to acquire caches that contain event materials called Nightmare Caches from Nightmare Dungeons.

Trade Midwinter Proofs with Gileon

After converting your event materials to Midwinter Proofs, proceed back to Gileon to trade them for new seasonal cosmetics, seasonal Legendary aspect, Elixirs, and other exciting loot!

Midwinter Blight Quests

Midwinter Blight Questline

The Midwinter Blight

There first quest for this event called The Midwinter Blight. You can gain access to this quest once you've spoken with Gileon in Kyovashad.

This quest will guide you into the necessary tasks needed to be accomplished to obtain all the seasonal rewards.

Song of the Lost Dawn

The second and last quest for the Midwinter Blight is the Song of the Lost Dawn. This quest is activated once you've reached Tier III in your Midwinter Tribute. To complete this, simply return to Gileon in Kyovashad and listen to the tale he's yet to share.

Midwinter Blight Rewards

Exclusive Cosmetic Items

Participating in the event will earn you exclusive cosmetic rewards, including various Weapon Transmogs and skull-themed Back Trophies.

These cosmetic rewards are permanent but they can only be acquired during the event.

Midwinter Back Pieces Rewards

There are five back pieces that you can obtain from the Midwinter Seasonal Event and each piece corresponds to 1 class in the game.

9 of the 14 weapon cosmetics you can obtain

There are 14 new weapon cosmetics total that you can obtain throughout the Midwinter Blight seasonal event.

All Transmogs and Cosmetic Types

New Unique Titles

Slaying the Red-Cloaked Horror during the Midwinter Blight event can reward you some new titles. Killing the Red-Cloaked Horror for the first time will reward you with the Frigid and Reveler titles!

How to Summon Red-Cloaked Horror

Shard of Dawn Aspect

Shard of Dawn Aspect
This event also features a new seasonal Legendary Aspect called the Shard of Dawn Aspect. It's an offensive aspect that give enhanced Attack Speed and Movement Speed and can be used more efficiently using the mechanics of the Midwinter Blight event.

Gileon's Brew

Gileon's Brew is an Elixir that can only be obtained during the Midwinter Blight. It is a great Elixir to craft and farm during the Midwinter Blight event, as it gives you 15% Max HP bonus, 15% Lucky Hit Chance, and 15% Experience bonus.

It will greatly strengthen builds that rely on Lucky Hit Chance so be sure to stock up on Gileon's Brew before tackling high difficulty content or if you just want that extra 15% bonus experience reward!
