Roiling Magma Lore

Lore Description
"One of the sorceries developed from the magma of Mt.Gelmir.

Fires a lump of condensed magma that explodes a short delay after hitting the target. Charging enhances potency and further delays the explosion.

After discovering the ancient hexes of Gelmir, Rykard, son of Queen Rennala, brough them back into practical use as new forms of sorcery."

Roiling Magma Effects

Plants magma to the ground which charges up and causes an explosion. The explosion will leave pools of lava around the area of the explosion, which will continue to deplete enemy HP.

Hitting the enemy with this spell will only damage the target and not cause any explosive AoE, it would be best to target the ground near your foe to maximize this spell.

How to Get Roiling Magma

Found In The Hermit's Shack

The Hermit's Shack is found at Mt. Gelmir, west of the Altus Plateau region. Travel westward and then south from the Seethewater Terminus site of grace to get to this location. You will find a corpse with the Roiling Magma spell inside this shack.

How to Use Roiling Magma

Target the Ground Near Your Enemies

Elden Ring - Roiling Magma

The Roiling Magma will charge and explode after being planted to the ground. Just hitting the enemy with the spell will just damage the target and will not cause any explosion.

To maximize this spell, aim the ground near your targets and wait for it to finishing charging. After 4 or 5 seconds the spell will explode leaving pools of lava around the area of explosion.

Leave Pools of Lava

After the explosion of the planted magma it will briefly leave pools of lava around the area of its explosion which will continue to damage enemies over time until it disappears.

Effective Against Large Enemies

The explosion from this spell covers a decent AoE but this might not be the best spell to use against fast-moving foes or during PvP. But it can be very effective against large slow-moving foes or huge bosses.
