Diablo 4's Early Access Beta will be available to preload starting March 15, at 12:00 PM EDT. Players looking play during the early access weekend ahead of other Open Beta hopefuls will need to pre-purchase any edition of Diablo 4 before March 17.

Diablo 4's Open Beta, on the other hand, will be available to preload starting March 22, at 12:00 PM EDT. It is recommended that players install the game ahead of time in anticipation of any server load issues during the actual Open Beta weekend.

Pre-Ordered Copies Will Only Need to Be Installed

Any pre-ordered copy of Diablo 4 will only need to be installed from your platform's game library once March 15 rolls around. No additional steps will be necessary for PC, Xbox, or Playstation platforms.

Early Access Players Will Not Need to Re-Download for the Open Beta Weekend

Since Early Access progress carries over to the Open Beta weekend, players who had the opportunity to participate during the Early Access weekend will not need to re-download Diablo 4 for their platform. Instead, keep them installed until the Open Beta launches on March 24 to keep playing.

Redeem Early Access Codes Via the Diablo 4 Website

If you are one of the lucky few to get an Early Access Code then you will need to follow the steps below in order to preload and participate in the Early Access Beta weekend of Diablo IV.

1 Go to diablo.com/beta and log in or create your Battle.net account.
2 Diablo IV - Early Access Redeem Code Button
From the home screen, select the option to Redeem Code.
3 Diablo IV - How to Redeem Early Access
Enter your code in the provided field and select your gaming platform (the one tied to your account).
4 A page will open to confirm whether your registration was successful or not.
5 PC players will have their account flagged for access immediately. However, console players will need to check their account's associated email for an Early Access download code*.

*Emails for console codes will start being sent out as we approach the Early Access weekend on March 17, 2023.

Install the Game via Battle.net

Diablo IV - How to Preload on PC

Before preloading, PC players will first need to download the Battle.net launcher via the Official Blizzard Site and login using their personal Blizzard account. Once set up, head over to the All Games page and add Diablo IV to your favorites bar.

After favoriting the game, click the Diablo IV icon to navigate to the game's page and press the big blue Install button once the preload dates for Early Access and Open Beta weekends roll around.

Download the Beta via the Xbox Store App

For Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users, simply launch your Xbox Store app and search for Diablo IV–Open Beta. Select it and choose the option to Download in order to start preloading the game as early as March 22.

Download the Beta via the Playstation Store

For PS5 and PS4 users, head on over to the Playstation Store and search for the Diablo IV Open Beta. Select it and choose the option to Download in order to start preloading the game as early as March 22.

Do You Need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus to Play?

Open Beta Will Not Require Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus

According to the official announcement of the open beta, players will not need an active Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus subsription in order to participate in the Open Beta for most regions. However, do note that the full release of the game will require an active subscription to either in order to access multiplayer features.

Players From Germany Require a Playstation Plus Subscription

Due to rating restrictions, the developers have confirmed that Playstation (PS5 or PS4) players from Germany will need an active PS Plus subscription in order to participate in the Open Beta. The official announcement made no mention of this issue affecting Xbox players.
