Horadric Tomes can be obtained in Strongrooms to unlock Horadric Jewel Recipes in Diablo 4 (D4). Learn how to get and farm Horadric Tomes, and what they’re used for.

Reach Rank 10 Horadric Knowledge

Horadric Tomes Tier 10 Reward

The first condition to unlock Horadric Tomes as drops is to receive the Tier 10 reward Horadric Cache from the Horadric Knowledge. You can increase your Horadric Knowledge by progressing through the Seasonal Questline and doing different activities in the game such as clearing Nightmare Dungeons and Strongrooms, or defeating Elite enemies.

Play on Torment Difficulties

Torment Difficulty Required

Once you've obtained the Tier 10 Horadric Knowledge reward, you'll have to start playing on the Torment Difficulties. To start playing on Torment I, you'll need to be Level 60 and have cleared at least Tier 10 of the Pit of the Artificer.

Obtain Them as Rewards from Strongrooms

Horadric Gateways That Lead to Strongrooms

Horadric Tomes can be obtained for completing Strongrooms, which you can access by interacting with Horadric Gateways that appear randomly within Nightmare Dungeons. These are timed micro-dungeons where you defeat packs of enemies to earn Horadric Attunement, which determines the quality and quantity of rewards from the final cache.

Choose the Right Horadric Statue Tests for More Attunement

At the start of each Strongroom, you’ll be presented with Horadric Statue, each with their own tests that makes the encounter more difficult, but increase the Attunement you get. Choosing the right ones will help you earn more Attunement, increasing your chances of receiving Horadric Tomes as a reward.

Horadric Tomes are consumable items that unlock crafting recipes for Horadric Jewels. If you don’t receive the recipe for the jewel you want, you’ll need to find and use additional tomes for another chance at unlocking your desired jewel.
