This skill was buffed in Ver 1.04, increasing its cast speed and adding a hitbox to the stomp animation.

How to Use Ice Lightning Sword

Calls Down Lightning and Imbues Weapon With Lightning and Ice

This skill calls down a bolt of lightning on the first attack and then imbues the player's weapon temporarily with lightning and ice damage. The initial bolt of lightning can spread in a small AoE if the enemy is standing in water and having a weapon imbued with lightning and ice will not only increase damage, but can also apply Frostbite.

When Frostbite triggers, enemies struck with it will take a percentage of their max HP as damage, so this skill is useful for doing burst damage.

However, keep in mind that the cast time is a bit delayed so proper timing is crucial.

Not Recommended For Groups

While the buff on the weapon afterwards helps in dealing damage and clearing groups faster, it's not recommended to use the initial strike when enemies are clumped together unless the player is wearing armor with high Poise.

The reason for this is because it would be easy for the group to stunlock the player while they're casting the skill.

Use With Mimic Tear

To maximize the use of the skill and the damage, the player can summon their Mimic Tear and cast the skill while the enemy is distracted. This will have the enemy take the full brunt of the initial lightning bolt without the player being targeted during the cast.
