Vampiric Curse Explained

A Special Status Effect

Vampiric Curse is a status effect that stores up to 8 charges in the form of souls when defeating enemies who are afflicted by the curse. These charges are then released to deal damage when the appropriate class skills are used.

Exclusive to Vampiric Powers

Unlike other status effects, the Vampiric Curse status effect can only be applied through the use of Vampiric Powers, which are a unique mechanic of Season 2, Season of Blood.

Vampiric Curse cannot be acquired on its own. Players must unlock the relevant Vampiric Powers through spending Potent Blood, raising their Hunter's Acclaim Tier levels, or progressing through the seasonal questline.

How to Use Vampiric Curse

Equip Vampiric Powers which Apply Vampiric Curse

Diablo IV (D4) - Sanguine Circle

Once the player has acquired the relevant Vampiric Powers, players must then afflict enemies with Vampiric Curse before killing them in order to store their souls.

Once the player has stored a minimum of 1 charge up to a maximum of 8 charges, using Defensive (Barbarian / Sorcerer / Druid), Agility (Rogue), and Macabre(Necromancer) skills will trigger the release of the stored charges to deal damage.
