Update 2.0 changes the ammo used by some weapon types in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Learn about the ammo changes and which weapons they are used on!

Ammo Changes in Update 2.0
Rifle and Pistol Ammo Changed
To summarize, Pistol Ammo and Rifle Ammo have been replaced with Handgun Ammo and Heavy Ammo, respectively. Additionally, Submachine Guns in 2.0 now use Handgun Ammo instead of Rifle/Heavy Ammo.

Ammo Can Still Be Crafted
Instead of buying ammo from vendors, you can craft them yourself in the Crafting menu using Tier 1 Item Components, which you can get by looting or dismantling Tier-1 weapons. This way, you can save eddies while also gaining points for the Engineer skill and unlock passive bonuses and Perk points!
