How to Use Vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Vehicle Combat and Car Chases in Update 2.0

In preparation for the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 will be shipping Update 2.0 on Sept. 21, 2023. Alongside other gameplay meta changes, this substantial update will introduce vehicle combat and car chases into the base game.

Get the Starter Hella EC-D I360 After the Tutorial

After finishing The Rescue, Jackie will return the keys to your refurbished Hella EC-D I360 - V's default car at the start of Cyberpunk 2077.

As your first owned vehicle, V will be able to summon the Hella EC-D I360 whenever they need a ride for exploring Night City.

Spend 100 Eddies to Repair and Summon Wrecked Vehicles

If you end up totaling one of your owned vehicles, you will need to spend 100 Eddies to resummon and use it. This amount is automatically subtracted after you use the summon function on the wrecked vehicle.

Complete the Heist Mission to Unlock Vehicles for Sale

Completing the Heist main story mission will unlock the rest of Night City for you to explore. As you move through each district, fixers will contact you about vehicles that are for sale.

Unlike vehicles you get off of the street, purchased vehicles will be permanently available to you. Like V's default car, these vehicles can be summoned from a list of rides when needed.

Get the Autojock Achievement by Buying All Vehicles Available for Purchase

Buying all of the vehicles available for purchase will reward you with the Autojock Achievement in Cyberpunk 2077. Make sure to save up your eddies if you want them all since the total cost is rather hefty.

Pass Required Attribute Checks to Steal a Vehicle

V will need to pass certain attribute checks when they try to steal a locked or occupied vehicle. Stealing a locked vehicle requires a certain number of Technical Ability points, while stealing an occupied one requires attribute points in Body.
