How to Save | Can You Have Multiple Saves?

How to Save Your Game

Cyberpunk 2077 has an autosave function that automatically saves your progress when you reach certain checkpoints in the game.

You can also manually save your game by going to the menu and selecting Save Game. The autosave will not overwrite your manual save file, only by manually saving on the same file.

Can You Have Multiple Saves?

Yes, the player can have multiple saves by selecting New Save within the Save Game menu. The PS4 version can store up to 20 save files, but you can always transfer others to an external drive to get more space.

Can You Have Multiple Characters?

With having multiple saves, you can also have multiple characters to play as. But you have to keep separate save files and restart the game each time to make a new one.

When Can You Not Save?

During Combat

Unfortunately, you cannot save your game while you're in combat, so make sure you're at a safe area before doing so.

During Cutscenes

You cannot save your game during a cutscene as well. Finish the cutscene first before you are able to save your game progress.

How to Transfer Save Files on PS4

First, plug in your external drive to your PS4. There are two ports on the front of the console.

Now open the Settings menu on the PS4 then go to Application Saved Data Management.

Select Saved Data in System Storage then choose Copy to USB Storage Device

Choose Cyberpunk 2077 as the game you want to copy. Then choose which save files you want to transfer to your external drive.

Can You Play Your PS4 Save Files on the PS5?

Yes, you can transfer your save file to the PS5 to continue your game's progress on the next-gen console.

The function of autosave is glitched AF and absolutely does overwrite all saves. No option to change character and load the other save files. Game is glitchy.
