This is a guide on how to save your game in Cyberpunk 2077. Read on to learn more about having multiple saves and characters, as well as transferring your save file.
List of Contents
Cyberpunk 2077 has an autosave function that automatically saves your progress when you reach certain checkpoints in the game.
You can also manually save your game by going to the menu and selecting Save Game. The autosave will not overwrite your manual save file, only by manually saving on the same file.
Yes, the player can have multiple saves by selecting New Save within the Save Game menu. The PS4 version can store up to 20 save files, but you can always transfer others to an external drive to get more space.
With having multiple saves, you can also have multiple characters to play as. But you have to keep separate save files and restart the game each time to make a new one.
Unfortunately, you cannot save your game while you're in combat, so make sure you're at a safe area before doing so.
You cannot save your game during a cutscene as well. Finish the cutscene first before you are able to save your game progress.
First, plug in your external drive to your PS4. There are two ports on the front of the console.
Now open the Settings menu on the PS4 then go to Application Saved Data Management.
Select Saved Data in System Storage then choose Copy to USB Storage Device
Choose Cyberpunk 2077 as the game you want to copy. Then choose which save files you want to transfer to your external drive.
Yes, you can transfer your save file to the PS5 to continue your game's progress on the next-gen console.

In the crafting screen, would love to see a comparison between what I'm currently equipped with vs what I've selected to craft. In the Inventory screen, I have no idea where any extra weight is without going into each category (weapons, clothes, etc). Please add some sort of weight indicator next to each category so I know exactly where I seem to be overloaded. In the Map, please mark completed items (assault in progress, access points), grey out the icons or something similar?
Game/story stopping ....when I get in the car with the police detective dude to go save his nephew at the farm......every time he rams the gate of the farm to get in, with his car . The car just explodes and I die .....every time .....can't get any further in the story .......I've tried getting out the car , restarting ......every time ....he rams the gate , car goes boom ......totally a show stopper :-(
