The next edition of Tryout Duels has been announced for April 26 2024, but this time a new stipulation has been added. In this event, both players now start the Duel with Skill Drain active on both players' Fields!

Tryout Duel: Skill Drain Event Information
Foir this run of the Tryout Duels, both players will start off the Duel with a copy of Nibiru, the Primal Being Effect, Rarity, and Related Packs added to their hand.
However, the rules in a Duel remain the same for this event.

No Loaner Decks Availalble
If the format would follow the previous Tryout Duel involving Nibiru, the Primal Being, the event would most likely require that players use their own respective Decks. There are no Loaner Decks players can borrow for this event.

A Copy of Skill Drain on Both Players' Field At The Start
Skill Drain has been a very popular and common floodgate to use as part of many Control Decks. This card slows down the pace of the game, outright preventing any monster effect from the opponent from activating or triggering while this Continuous Trap Card is on the field.
No Need To Buy or Craft Skill Drain
As mentioned in the rules, both players will start off the Duel with a copy of Skill Drain on both sides of the Field. They are already active at the start of the Duel.
However, players stil have the option to add up to the legal amount of copies of Skill Drain in their Deck if they so wish, bringing the total amount of possible copies of Skill Drain a player can have up to 2. As of writing, the Continuous Trap Card is currently set as Limited.

So if you're thinking about getting more copies of Skill Drain by crafting, do not hestitate and take advantage of this small ruling advantage.
The Rules Are The Same
Other than the addition of Skill Drain already active on both sides of the Field, the rules of the Duel during the Tryout Duels event simply remain the same, and the win conditions are unchanged. Make sure to adapt on the Decks to use and the starting strategy to deal with the floogate!
Tryout Duel: Skill Drain Event Reward
Much like previous versions of Tryout Events, the main prize given out during this event is a free Card Pack featuring the most recently released Selection Pack during their run.
In this case, players will receive a free Card Pack from the Nightmare Arrivals Selection Pack upon winning a total of 3 Duels.
