Prediction Princess Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Conditions

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - Prediction Princess Playstyle

Prediction Princess, as an archetype, is a take on Ritual Monsters built around Flip Effects. The Deck is composed of Level 9 Monsters that can Special Summon Flip Monsters from the Deck and flip them on demand, reviving old Flip Monsters.

Simply put, the main win condition is activating the Flip Effects of our monsters. The caveat here is that Prediction Princess alone bricks since their combos need 3 cards. To improve its low consistency, the Impcantation package is included to search the necessary Ritual components of Prediction Princess.

Main Deck

Monsters

Prediction Princess Tarotrei Prediction Princess Tarotreith

For this Deck, the Prediction Princess archetype sports 2 Main Deck Ritual monsters to serve as the foundation of the Flip game plan. More specifically, both Prediction Princess Tarotrei and Prediction Princess Tarotreith are the main enablers for this Deck's win condition.

Card Effects
Prediction Princess Tarotrei ①: During either player's turn: You can target 1 face-down monster on the field; change it to face-up Attack Position.
②: During either player's turn: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; change it to face-down Defense Position.
Prediction Princess Tarotreith ①: Flip any number of face-down monsters you control to face-up Defense Position.
②:Flip any number of face-up monsters you control to face-down Defense Position.

Prediction Princess Tarotreith can be Special Summoned using Prediction Princess Tarotrei's effect as she has a Flip Effect. When Prediction Princess Tarotreith is flipped, she can Special Summon 1 Flip monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position.

During the End Phase, you can use Prediction Princess Tarotrei's first effect to activate Prediction Princess Tarotreith's Flip effect to Special Summon a Flip Monster in face-down Defense Position from the Deck.

In the best-case scenario, you can Summon 2 Flip Monsters before your opponent's Main Phase since both Princesses' effects do not specify the timing.

Prediction Princess Bibliomuse

Prediction Princess Bibliomuse, as another part of the Prediction Princess, acts as both a searcher and support. If Prediction Princess Bibliomuse is flipped, you can add both a Prediction Princess Ritual Monster and Spell from the Deck to your hand.

Also, as an additional effect, all Ritual Monsters on the field cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects.

Impcantation Talismandra Impcantation Candoll Impcantation Chalislime

Since Prediction Princess needs numerous components for their Ritual Summoning, the Impcantation Deck Engine was included to search for them reliably. However, keep in mind that if you use their effects, you are locked out from your Extra Deck.

Impcantation Talismandra is a way to search for either Tarotrei or Tarotreith from the Deck if it was Special Summoned through it. Talismandra can also be used to Special Summon itself from the hand along with another Incantation monster from the Deck if it reveals a Ritual Monster.

Impcantation Candoll is simply Talismandra's counterpart, being able to search out a Ritual Spell from the Deck if it was Special Summoned through it. Candoll can also be used to Special summon itself from the hand along with another Incantation monster from the Deck if it reveals a Ritual Spell.

Impcantation Chalislime is the most reliable way to search for the specific Ritual Material you need as it can Special Summon either Candoll or Talismandra straight from the Deck to activate their searching effects by discarding any card from your Hand.

Guard Dog Whirlwind Weasel Pot of the Forbidden

These 3 cards would be the main Flip Monsters, 2 of which are floodgates that can quickly lead to a surrender if you encounter a combo-based Deck. All of these cards can be flipped as soon as they are set due to Prediction Princess Tarotrei and Tarotreith's effects.

Guard Dog is the main Flip Monster that the Deck wants to bring out since its effect is quite simple but game-ending. The turn this card is flipped, the opponent is then barred from Special Summoning until the next turn.

Whirlwind Weasel is an alternative Flip Monster to counter Spell/Trap-based Decks. When the card is flipped, the opponent is barred from activating Spells and Traps for the whole turn.

The final Flip Monster, Pot of the Forbidden, is used to finish the Duel after the opponent ends their turn. It has 4 effects to choose from, which include:

  • Draw 2 Cards
  • Return all Spell and Trap Cards on the field to the hand.
  • Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.
  • Look at your opponent's hand, also shuffle 1 card from their hand into the Deck.

Effectively, it is a board wipe with various options!

Diviner of the Herald

Diviner of the Herald serves two purposes depending on the Extra Deck Fairy you put in the Graveyard:

  1. If you put Herald of the Arc Light in the Graveyard, you can search any Ritual Spell or Monster and add it to your hand.
  2. If you put Elder Entity N'tss in the Graveyard, you can target and destroy one card on the Field.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring Maxx "C"

Maxx-C and Ash Blossom, as per usual in the Master Duel Banlist, are the staple hand traps of any Deck as they can effectively stop combos from happening.

Spells

Prediction Ritual Underworld Ritual of Prediction

Since Prediction Princess is a Ritual-based Archetype, they have their exclusive Ritual Spells to Special Summon their Boss Monster.

Prediction Ritual is a Ritual Spell used to Summon Tarotrei specifically. It is also searchable by Pre-Preparation of Rites as it indicates a specific name.

Underworld Ritual of Prediction is a Ritual Spell used to Summon any Prediction Princess Ritual Monster. During any Standby Phase, you can banish this from the Graveyard to Special Summon a Prediction Princess from the Deck.

Pre-Preparation of Rites Preparation of Rites

As standard includes for most Ritual-based Decks, Pre-Preparation of Rites and Preparation of Rites are included to increase consistency and possibly add another Ritual Monster on Board as Preparation of Rites recycles Ritual Spells from the Graveyard.

Extra-Foolish Burial Pot of Prosperity

Extra-Foolish Burial is an alternative way to get Herald of the Arc Light to the Graveyard for an easy Ritual Material search.

Pot of Prosperity is also included to increase consistency. It is recommended to Banish these situational cards

Called by the Grave Crossout Designator

Since Prediction Princess is all about getting your Flip Monsters set, countering handtraps is essential. To do that, Called by the Grave and Crossout Designator are included to increase your combo chance is crucial.

Traps

Evenly Matched Infinite Impermanence

Having to go second with Prediction Princess is not ideal as you need to set up. Evenly Matched is included to cover that weakness as the card can clear the field safely and effectively, but it only has one copy for consistency.

Even though you have Guard Dog set-up, Effect Monsters can still be activated through Normal Summoning. Examples such as Floowandereeze can bypass that floodgate. To counter those, Infinite Impermanence is included.

Extra Deck Monsters

For this Deck variant, Prediction Princess has no extra Deck monsters unique to the archetype. Since the Deck can put out Level 9 Monsters easily, the Deck utilizes Level 9 XYZ Summons. To further round out the Deck, situational Link Summons are included.

Elder Entity N Herald of the Arc Light

These 2 Extra Deck inclusions are used mainly by Diviner of the Herald or Mereologic Aggreggator for their Graveyard Effects.

Elder Entity N'tss, when sent to the Graveyard, you can pop a card on the Field. Mainly, this card is used when going second

Herald of the Arc Light, when sent to the Graveyard, you can search for any Ritual Material. Keep in mind that this is not a hard once-per-turn!

Mereologic Aggregator Gravity Controller

These 2 Extra Deck inclusions serve as an alternative combo extender when your opponent interrupts your searches and you are still missing key Ritual Materials.

If Mereologic Aggregator is XYZ Summoned, it can send an Extra Deck Monster to the Graveyard. Aggregator also has an activated effect where you can swap your XYZ Materials with cards from the Graveyard, harboring the possibility of doubling effects.

Aggregator also acts as a type of interruption when it is sent to the Graveyard as you can target a face-up card on the Field and negate its effects until the end of the turn.

Gravity Controller is a Link-1 Monster that can be Link Summoned by using 1 non-Link Monster in the Extra Monster Zone. This card will mainly be used on Mereologic Aggregator to resend XYZ Materials back to the Graveyard.

Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity

The Generaider XYZ Package is included as Prediction Princess can efficiently bring out Level 9 Monsters as Materials for it. This is reserved for moments where you need untargeted removal, usually on extended Duels.

Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows will usually be Summoned first as she can make Jormungandr even more lethal with her effect. She can be Tributed to Special Summon a Generaider XYZ Monster with the added effect of using any card on the Field as Material up to the amount of Materials used for her Summon.

Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity, which is summoned by Laevatein, starts with 2000 ATK while wiping the board. Jormungandr can sabotage your opponent's hand by detaching a Material to let both players draw from their Deck to then attach one card to it.

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder Infinitrack Earth Slicer Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir

These are the situational XYZ Summons. They are mostly used for Pot of Prosperity. They are, however, easy to get out due to the condition of using Level 9 Monsters as Materials when you cannot get your Flip Monsters out.

Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus - Sky Thunder can be Special Summoned during the second Main Phase if an XYZ Monster battles an opponent's Monster. Zeus is used as a safe last resort board-wipe if you cannot get your Flip Monsters out.

When Infinitrack Earth Slicer destroys a Monster by battle, it attaches the destroyed monster as Material. Also, Infinitrack can activate either of the two effects:

  1. You can detach any number of Materials from this card, then target that many cards on the field; destroy them.
  2. If this card is in your GY: You can Tribute 1 Machine Link Monster; Special Summon this card in Defense Position.

It is recommended that you use Infinitrack as the precursor for Zeus since Infinitrack can wipe the board safely.

Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir is used as a way to avoid Graveyard effects and immunities from being targeted and destroyed. Enterblathnir achieves this by choosing one between four effects that banishes:

  1. 1 card your opponent controls.
  2. 1 random card from your opponent's hand.
  3. 1 card from your opponent's GY.
  4. The top card of your opponent's Deck, face-up.
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World Worldsea Dragon Zealantis Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess Cross-Sheep

These are the situational Link Summons. They will be used as Materials for Pot of Prosperity for more consistency as they are hard to get out. Nonetheless, they have niche situations where they can shine.

  • Underworld Goddess of the Closed World: Used when you have Monsters to spare on Turn 3 and need an uninterruptible remove.
  • Worldsea Dragon Zealantis: Used when you want to set Monsters on the opponent's field face-down and a board wipe.
  • Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess: Used when you do not have any of your floodgates.
  • Cross-Sheep: Used for consistency as when you Summon a Ritual Monster to where this card points to, you Draw 2 then Discard 2. You can get Tarotreith to the Graveyard this way.

Boss Monsters

Prediction Princess Tarotreith
Prediction Princess Tarotreith As a Flip-based Deck, Prediction Princess Tarotreith would be the Deck's key monster. Tarotreith, if flipped, allows you to Special Summon any Flip Monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position. While able to setup Flip Monsters, Tarotreith can also flip them which activates their devastating effects!
Guard Dog
Guard Dog A measly Normal rarity card, Guard Dog serves as the Deck's main floodgate. As a Control Deck, simplicity is key, and this dog does simplicity well. If Guard Dog is flipped, usually by Tarotreith's effect, your opponent cannot Special Summon Monsters for the rest of their turn. More often than not, this card ends games if its effect resolves.
Pot of the Forbidden
Pot of the Forbidden After not letting your opponent play their turn through Guard Dog, Tarotreith can summon Pot of the Forbidden through her effect to end games. As a finisher, if this card is flipped, destroy all Monsters on the opponent's side of the field while sporting 2000 ATK. If not used as a finisher, Pot of the Forbidden also has 3 game-breaking effects.
Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity
Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity Usually reserved for battles of attrition, Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity is utilized for non-targeted removal by using the opponent's cards as materials. If summoned through Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows, this effect becomes even more powerful as you can take any 2 Cards from the field or Graveyard as material for Jormungandr, effectively board-wiping the opponent.
Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus - Sky Thunder
Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus - Sky Thunder is mostly used as a final resort. Using its effect, it is usually a safe field wipe, avoiding "If Destroyed" effects. Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder can be summoned after one of your Xyz Monsters has launched an attack succesfully during the Battle Phase.

Runick Control

Master Duel - Runick Control

Since Runick Control Decks are designed to efficiently remove key-cards from the Deck while recycling their spells, a Prediction Princess player will not be able to consistently pull off their combos.

With Runick Control's constant influence over resources, there is also the possibility of not being able to play at all.

Dinomorphia

Master Duel - Dinomorphia

Dinomorphia Decks, through their Boss Monster's Skill Drain-esque effect, massively neuters Prediction Princess' game-plan revolving around Flip Effects. The main caveat here is that Dinomorphia Decks need to manage their Life Points to keep the effect negation.

Dinomorphia Deck Guide

Labrynth Control

Master Duel - Labrynth Control

Another control deck, Labrynth Control keeps Prediction Princess at bay by disrupting their field without activating any of the Flip Effects prevalent in their deck.

That game-plan is achieved since Labrynth Trap Cards removes cards on the field without being flipped, completely shutting Flip-based Monsters.

Labrynth Control Deck Guide

Floowandereeze

Master Duel - Floowandereeze

Since Floowandereeze is a Deck that bypasses and punishes Special Summons, it completely flies over the Special Summon floodgate of Prediction Princess. This aspect of Floowandereeze effectively shuts down the Control aspect of Prediction Princess.

Best Cards to Tech Against Prediction Princess

Royal Command
Royal Command Purposely designed to counter Flip Monsters. When Royal Command is active, any Flip-based effects cannot be activated and any current Flip effects active are negated. Since Prediction Princess is mostly a Flip-based Deck, having their gameplan snuffed out will often lead to a loss for them.
Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou
Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou Mostly used as a tech card for Aggro Decks facing Flip Decks. Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou is an Equip Spell wherein after discarding, equip this to a Monster on the Field. Any battles with the equipped Monster will have their effects negated, which includes Flip effects.
Nobleman of Crossout
Nobleman of Crossout Nobleman of Crossout is considered a strong check for any Face-down Monster on the field, Flip effect or not. Flip Monsters, however, are especially punished as when they are subjected to this effect, all Monsters with the same name of the Flip Monster is banished.
Light of Intervention
Light of Intervention Light of Intervention prevents Monster Cards from being set face-down in Defense Position. If this card is active, Prediction Princess cannot proceed with any of their Flip combos with Tarotreith and Tarotrei, effectively shutting them down.
