Dogmatika Bystial Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Dogmatika Bystial is a Control Deck that focuses on crippling the opponent's Extra Deck. The "Dogmatika" archetype utilizes its own Extra Deck monsters as fodders for effects. With this, "Dogmatika" can easily pull off strong GY effects of Extra Deck monsters without even summoning them.

In conjunction with the "Bystial" archetype, the deck can also limit the opponent's access to the GY.

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted Dogmatika Maximus Nadir Servant Dogmatika Punishment

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous is one of the Deck's main searcher. Ecclesia has battle immunity against any monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, it can also add any "Dogmatika" card upon Summon.

Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted has a Quick Effect that Special Summons itself when a monster was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. It can also negate a monster's effect on the field upon Summon if you control another "Dogmatika" monster.

Dogmatika Maximus can Summon itself from the Hand by banishing 1 Fusion/Synchro/Xyz/Link Monster in your GY. Maximus can also send 2 cards with different names from your Extra Deck to the GY to send 2 Monsters from your opponent's Extra Deck to the GY.

Nadir Servant is the Deck's main Spell Card. It can search for any "Dogmatika" monster by sending an Extra Deck Monster to the GY.

Dogmatika Punishment gives a layer of disruption for the Deck as it can destroy an opponent's monster by sending an Extra Deck Monster to the GY.

White Relic of Dogmatika White Knight of Dogmatika Dogmatika Alba Zoa

White Relic of Dogmatika can adjust the ATK points of a monster on the field upon Ritual Summon. It also provides battle protection to all Level 8 and higher "Dogmatika" monsters you control.

White Knight of Dogmatika snipes out the opponent's Extra Deck and sends any monster among them to the GY when your opponent activates an effect.

Dogmatika Alba Zoa is the deck's main boss monster. It gives "Dogmatika" monsters you control immunity to any activated effects of an opponent's Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link monster.

Dogmatikalamity Dogmatikamacabre Dogmatikamatrix

Dogmatikalamity and Dogmatikamacabre are the deck's Ritual Spell. It can use monsters on the Extra Deck as a tribute for the Ritual Summon.

Dogmatikamatrix acts as the main searcher for any Ritual Spell and Ritual Monster in the deck. It can also check the opponent's Extra Deck and send 1 monster to GY.

Bystial Magnamhut Bystial Druiswurm Bystial Baldrake

The Bystial engine serves as another layer of disruption for the Deck. The "Dogmatika" cards will send the opponent's monster from the Extra Deck to the GY, while the "Bystials" can easily banish them.

Elder Entity N Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon Five-Headed Dragon

The Fusion Monsters in the Extra Deck serve as fodder for the "Dogmatika" Spell/Trap cards. Each of the Fusion Monsters has an effect when sent to the GY, except Five-Headed Dragon.

Note that Five-Headed Dragon is flexible in this slot. It can be replaced with any Level 12 Fusion Monster as its role is only used as fodder for the Ritual Spells.

Core Combos and Interactions

2-Card Ritual Combo

This 2-Card Combo needs White Relic of Dogmatika and Dogmatikalamity. This will be the bread-and-butter combo for the deck for any Ritual Monster you are gonna summon.

Cards like Dogmatikamatrix and Pre-Preparation of Rites can search for the missing pieces for the combo.

Required Cards
White Relic of Dogmatika + Dogmatikalamity
Step Description
1 Activate Dogmatikalamity by sending Herald of the Arc Light to the GY to Ritual Summon White Relic of Dogmatika.
2 Activate Herald of the Arc Light to add Dogmatika Alba Zoa or any Ritual Spell from the Deck to hand.
3 If you activate Dogmatikamatrix to search for any missing combo pieces, activate its other effect to send Herald of the Arc Light from the Extra Deck to the GY.
4 Activate Herald of the Arc Light's effect in the GY to add another Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell from the Deck.
Note: If you added a Ritual Monster in Step 2, add a Ritual Spell for this step.

Going 2nd Interactions

Dogmatika Bystials is a good going-second deck, thanks to its strong board-breaking ability.

As most of the Spells/Traps in the Deck send cards from your own Extra Deck to the GY, it is ideal to maximize their effects. Thus, using Extra Deck Monsters that have an effect when sent to the GY is optimal for any Dogmatika deck.

Extra Deck Monster Sent to GY Effect
Elder Entity N Elder Entity N'tss Destroys a card on the field.
Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Draw 1 card.
Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Adds or Special Summons a "Dogmatika" Monster from the Deck during the End Phase.
Granguignol the Dusk Dragon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon Banishes itself in the GY to Special Summon a "Dogmatika" Monster from the Deck.
Herald of the Arc Light Herald of the Arc Light Adds any Ritual Spell or Ritual Monster from the Deck to hand.
PSY-Framelord Omega PSY-Framelord Omega Recycles any card in the GY back to the Deck.
Mereologic Aggregator Mereologic Aggregator Negate any face-up card's effect until the end of the turn.

Best Decks to Use Against Dogmatika Bystial

Monarch

Domain Monarch Deck Top Image.png
The Monarchs excel in Tribute Summoning and they do not use the Extra Deck at all. Dogmatika's Extra Deck crippling strategy is useless against Domain Monarchs.

The Monarchs can also Tribute their opponent's monster, making it easier for Alba Zoa to be removed from the field.

Domain Monarch Deck Guide

Floowandereeze

Floowandereeze Top Image

Floowandereeze does not rely on its Extra Deck to win games, and similar to the Monarch's gameplay, Floowandereeze also relies on a barrage of Tribute Summon to rev up its engine.

Bystial Branded

Master Duel - Bystial Branded Top Image
Bystial Branded or any variant of the "Branded" archetype can fight well against Dogmatika Bystial. Sending "Branded" Fusion Monsters to the GY tends to benefit the deck more than to cause damage to them.
