Snake-Eyes has been hit with quite a number of limitations since their debut in Master Duel, and while it is not unplayable, it is less consistent for opening hands outside of hand traps.
With the introduction for more cards like Snake-Eyes Diabellstar and the addition of the Azamina archetype, the Deck continued to gain support. Now, with Fiendsmith at full power, three archetypes have synergies that make each other stronger.
Diabellstar the Black Witch still remains a good combo starter, if not a combo extender. On Special Summon, it can set a "Sinful Spoils" Spell or Trap straight from the Deck. If it isn't on hand, WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils simply adds it from the Deck or GY to the hand.
They also have their own Field Spell in Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye, which places a "Snake-Eye" monster from the Deck straight onto the Spell/Trap Zone. It lets the user summon a monster from the Spell/Trap Zone in response to the opponent conducting a Summon.
All of the Level 1 "Snake-Eye" Mosnters share the effect of being able to Special Summon another "Snake-Eye" monster from the Deck, by sending itself and another card from the field to the GY.
Snake-Eye Ash is a powerful starter that connects with the Diabellstar Engine. As this card is Summoned, it searches out a Level 1 FIRE monster from Deck to hand, usually being Snake-Eyes Poplar, which can immediately Special Summon itself when added to the hand outside of drawing it, and searches a "Snake-Eye" Spell/Trap when summoned.
Snake-Eye Oak can retrieve a banished Level 1 FIRE monster to add to the hand, and is more the combo extender to get a Level 1 Snake-Eye monster on the field, usually for a Link Summon. Unfortunately, this card has been banned as of July 4, 2025.

The powerhouse of the Main Deck is Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon, which can target a monster the opponent controls and places them in the Spell/Trap Zone. On the opponent's turn, it can Special Summon a monster in Spell/Trap Zones to your side of the field.
When sent from the hand or Field to the GY, it can Special Summon up to two Level 1 FIRE monsters from the GY, and is often used as an additional combo after being used as Link material.

A new addition for the Snake-Eyes is Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, which can move itself and the monster it attacks to the Spell/Trap Zone. It can also move a FIRE monster you have in the GY to the same Zone to Special Summon itself.
The connecting Spell Card is Deception of the Sinful Spoils, which by tributing a monster in hand or on the field, can the crucial card The Hallowed Azamina be added to hand. This Spell Card opens up the options into the Azamina Fusion monsters, and can be immediately used again by using its effect to add back to the hand.
Crucially, they key monster you want to have on the field is Azamina Ilia Silvia, which has an omni-negate by tributing itself. While on the field, all Azamina monsters other than itself will deal double damage.
Azamina Mu Rcielago is an additional monster to consider, and all mosnters the opponents control loses ATK for each Azamina monster you control. On Fusion Summon, it can add either an Azamina or Sinful Spoil card to the hand--which means another way to get Deception of the Sinful Spoils.
For the Fiendsmith cards, there's a lot of ways to kickstart the Deck Engine's combo. Fiendsmith Engraver can discard itself to get Fiendsmith's Tract which in turn adds and discards Fabled Lurrie to summon it onto the field.
The new addition is Lacrima the Crimson Tears, which sends a Fiendsmith card to the GY when summoned. Typically, players would send the second copy of Fiendsmith Engraver there, for it to use its GY effect to Special Summon itself.
With two monsters, including a Fiendsmith monster on the field, the player can go into Fiendsmith's Sequence. With its effect, it can conduct a Fusion by shuffling materials from the GY back tto the Deck or Extra Deck.
Most often, this effect is used to Summon Fiendsmith's Lacrima, which on summon can bring back a Fiendsmith Engraver from the GY. However, with the addition of Fiendsmith's Agnumday, this opens up for Fiendsmith's Desirae to be a powerful boss monster option with omni-negates for five cards simultaneously while being untargetable!
| Sample Hand 1 | |
|---|---|
| Step | Description |
| 1 | If you do not have a Diabellstar the Black Witch on hand, search it out with WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils. |
| 2 | Once on hand, activate the effect of Diabellstar the Black Witch; discard a card, then Special Summon it onto the field. This triggers its on-suimmon effect; search out and set Deception of the Sinful Spoils on the field. |
| 3 | Flip and activate Deception of the Sinful Spoils, then use its effect; tribute Diabellstar the Black Witch to search out The Hallowed Azamina from the Deck. |
| 4 | Activate The Hallowed Azamina from hand; send Deception of the Sinful Spoils from the field to the GY to Fusion Summon Azamina Mu Rcielago. On summon, this triggers Mu Rcielago's effect; add Original Sifnul Spoils - Snake-Eye to the hand. |
| 5 | Activate the GY effect of The Hallowed Azamina; return Azamina Mu Rcielago to the Extra Deck, then retrieve the Spell Card back to the hand. |
| 6 | For the second time, activate The Hallowed Azamina; this time, send Original Sifnul Spoils - Snake-Eye to the GY to Fusion Summon Azamina Ilia Silvia. |
This enables the Deck to go into its Snake-Eye combo starting with Snake-Eye Ash, with added protection from the omni-negate from Azamina Ilia Silvia. This is because there are no Normal Summons conducted yet in this combo.
| # | Step Taken |
|---|---|
| 1 | Activate Fiendsmith Engraver from the hand; discard it, then add Fiendsmith's Tract to the hand. |
| 2 | Activate Fiendsmith's Tract; add Fabled Lurrie from the Deck to hand, then immediately discard it due to the Spell Card's effect. This triggers Lurrie's effect after being discarded to the GY; Special Summon it. |
| 3 | Using Fabled Lurrie as material, immediately Link Summon into Fiendsmith's Requiem. Then, activate its effect while on the field during the Main Phase; tribute itself, then Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears from the Deck. |
| 4 | Lacrima the Crimson Tears' effect triggers upon being Special Summoned; send the second copy of Fiendsmith Engraver from the Deck to GY. Then, activate one of the Engravers from there; shuffle back Fabled Lurrie to the Deck to Special Summon itself back from the Deck. |
| 5 | Using Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Fiendsmith Engraver as materials, Link Summon Fiendsmith's Sequence. Then, using the materials sent to the GY and the second Fiendsmith Engraver in the GY, shuffle them back to the Deck to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith's Desirae . |
| 6 | After summoning Fiendsmith's Desirae through the effect of Fiendsmith's Sequence, do not activate Sequence's second effect. Instead, use the two monsters as materials to Link Summon into Fiendsmith's Agnumday. |
| 7 | Trigger the effect of Fiendsmith Agnumday after being Link Summoned; target Fiendsmith's Desirae from the GY and Special Summon it back to the field, then equip the Link Monster to it in the Spell/Trap Zone. This gives Desirae a boost in ATK. |
| 8 | Activate Fiendsmith's Sequence's second effect while in the GY; eqiup itself to Fiendsmith's Desirae. This gives Desirae a second boost in ATK. |

Even with some hits in the Deck, especially with Nightmare Throne now Semi-Limited as of February 6, 2025, Yubel is still a very good Deck, and has a very skill-based match-up against Fiendsmith Snake-Eyes. Be careful with managing your resources when dealing with Nightmare Pain and Phantom of Yubel, and do not be surprised if you encounter Fiendsmith variants of this Deck as well!

With the addition of the Fiendsmith Engine to Master Duel, expect Duels to get a lot more intense as people slot in the new tech into virtually every Deck. But of course, you could just run an Anti-Meta Stun Deck and grind the game down to a slow pace. All the cards in a stun Deck can deal with Fiendsmith Snake-Eyes--provided you know how to deal with follow-ups afterwards.
Anti-Meta Stun Deck List & Card Guide

The Bystials can actually be trouble against the Fiendsmith Engine, as the latter are LIGHT monsters--making them prime targets for the banish effects each of the Bystial Dragons have. In the current format, Centur-Ion is one of the best to use them, and can quickly turn their presence into bodies to use for Synchro Summons, especially making it easy to get to boss monsters like Crimson Dragon and Baronne de Fleur.
Centur-Ion Deck List & Card Guide
| Called by the Grave | |
|---|---|
|
|
Both Fiendsmith and Snake-Eyes benefit from having cards in the Graveyard, and quite a lot of Special Summons take monsters from there. Called by the Grave is one way to deny them that, and if there is a copy of the banished card on the field, their effects are also negated at the same time. |
| Droll & Lock Bird | |
|
|
With the power that the Fiendsmith Engine brings, card advantage is now very easy to get. Using Droll & Lock Bird can deny them that right, however be careful when you activate this. If you so happen to make use of Maxx "C" or Mulcharmy Fuwalos before this card is used, their effects are nullified as well. |
| Anti-Spell Fragrance | |
|
|
Anti-Spell Fragrance may have been Limited in the February 2025 Banlist Update, it is still an incredible Trap Card against Fiendsmith Snake-Eyes. As much as the monsters of Fiendsmith and Snake-Eyes have powerful effects of their own, their Spells are what give them the edge, especially Fiendsmith's Tract being a one-card combo starter. |
| Crossout Designator | |
|
|
Crossout Designator is now, more than ever, a very crucial card to make use of in Master Duel with the arrival of Fiendsmith. Expect lots of Decks to try and slot the Engine in, so by sacrificing a card of your own, you can deny the opponent their chance to pull off the combo. |
