Budget Shark Xyz Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

The deck mostly focuses on getting as many fish onto the field as possible, to start summoning your stronger monsters from your Extra Deck.

The goal is to make the most of the special effect both Left-Hand Shark & Right-Hand Shark have that can make any Xyz that uses them and another water monster as materials impervious from being destoyed by either battle, card effects, or both of you use both of them as material on the same Xyz monster.

Discard them as materials, to trigger off your Xyz's monster's effects and recycle them back into either your hand or the deck from the GY using the effects of Lifeless Leaffish or Silent Sea Nettle, White Mirror, or Whitefish Salvage.

Sample Combo

Required Cards
Left-Hand Shark Buzzsaw Shark
Step Description
Set your Left-Hand Shark face down on the field and End your Turn. This is to bait your opponent into attacking and destroying your Left-Hand Shark to send it to the GY. If your opponent doesn't take the bait, simply use one of your Trap Cards like Fish Depth Charge or Torrential Tribute to send it to the GY.
On your Next Turn, Normal Summon Buzzsaw Shark → Activate Buzzsaw Shark's Effect and search for Right-Hand Shark from your Deck and Special Summon it onto the Field.
Activate Left-Hand Shark's Effect from the GY → Special Summon Left-Hand Shark from the GY onto the Field.
Xyz Summon Number 70: Malevolent SIn onto your Field.

A quick and effective combo leaving you with a Number 70: Malevolent Sin on the field that cannot be destroyed by Battle nor Card Effects.

Now, everytime you Attack using your Number 70: Malevolent Sin, it gains 300ATK and raises its Rank up by 3.

Basically, you have a pretty much immortal monster on the Field that constantly increases its own Attack everytime it attacks.

With 2 more sets in your Deck, you can freely make 2 more Number 70: Malevolent Sins.

And, after your Number 70: Malevolent Sin attacks twice, you have the option of Xyz Summoning Number 77: The Seven Sins using it as Material, giving you a 4000ATK/3000DEF that is pretty much invulnerable.

You also have the option of using Left-Hand Shark & Right-Hand Shark to Xyz Summon Number 59: Crooked Cook, and as long as it's the only monster you control, it'd be literally invincible -- not affected by Card Effects, while not being able to be destroyed by either Battle or Card Effects. Place him on Defense Position, and just wait for your opponent to give up.

Best Cards to Tech Against Budget Shark Xyz

Contact "C"
Contact "C" Contact "C" pretty much locks your opponent's Budget Shark Xyz Deck by stopping them from Special Summoning from their Extra Deck, unless they use it as Material. This means they can't just bring out their Xyz Monsters so easily.
PSY-Framegear Gamma
PSY-Framegear Gamma A hand trap that can be used to negate the effects of your opponent's Budget Shark Xyz Deck Monster's Effects, destroying them in the process.
Prohibition
Prohibition Using Prohibition and naming cards like Left/Right-Hand Shark, or other similar cards will pretty much lock your opponent's Budget Shark Xyz Deck from being able to perform as it should. Just make sure to use it as soon as you know that your opponent is using a Fluffal Deck before they can bring out any of these cards.
Effect Veiler
Effect Veiler Another hand trap like PSY-Framegear Gamma that can be used to negate Monster Effects.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring This card can be quickly used to cancel specific effects that are at the core of Fluffal Deck by discarding this card.

Limit Summons & Negate

This Budget Shark Xyz Deck relies on searches and chaining summons to use for Xyz Summons to create a strong board early in the game.

Using a combination of spells and traps to interrupt your opponent will quickly put the duel in your favor.
