Pure Despia Deck Guide: How to Play

This deck isn't designed for OTKs or FTKs. It's designed to play the long game, giving you access to a lot of monsters to Fusion Summon your Level 8 Fusion Monsters eventually winning you the game.

And if you're in dire need of heavy hitting monsters, you always have the Number 97: Draglubion that can Special Summon Number 100: Numeron Dragon with Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy attached to it as material, effectively giving you a 9000ATK monster.

Plus, with the use of Fallen of Albaz, you can quickly perform a Fusion Summon at the cost of any card in your hand using Fallen of Albaz and a monster on your opponent's field.

Basic Combo

Required Cards
Branded Opening
Step Description
Branded Opening → Send Despian Tragedy to GY & Special Summon Aluber the Jester of Despia, activating it's effect to add Despia, Theater of the Branded to the hand
Activate Despian Tragedy Effect → Search for Dramaturge of Despia and add to Hand.
Set Despia, Theater of the Branded and activate its effect → Fusion Summon Despian Quaeritis using Aluber the Jester of Despia on the field and Dramaturge of Despia in the hand → Activate Dramaturge of Despia's effect, changing the ATK of all monsters currently on the field except Level 8 Fusion Monsters to 0.
Activate Dramaturge of Despia in GY → Special Summon to Field.
Xyz Summon Number 97: Draglubion using Despian Quaeritis and Dramaturge of Despia
Detach 1 Material from Number 97: Draglubion → Special Summon Number 100: Numeron Dragon and attach **Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy" to it.
Detach 1 Material from Number 100: Numeron Dragon → Attack your Opponent

This is technically a OTK combo starting with just a Branded Opening and Despian Tragedy in your hand.

But stopping at Step 4, having both the Despian Quaeritis and Dramaturge of Despia on the field can offer you more flexibility, while giving you two interruptions.

With Dramaturge of Despia you can effectively use it similar to how you'd use an Infinite Impermanence negating the effects of one Effect Monster on the field for the rest of the turn.

If your Despian Quaeritis leaves the field, you can add another Despia Monster to your hand, giving you another material to Fusion Summon another copy next turn. Additionally, If it's destroyed by battle, or leaves the field due to a card effect, you can activate the Aluber the Jester of Despia in the GY to Special Summon itself onto the field giving you more options moving forward.

Somebody here doesn't know about "Branded Opening" lockout effect. You can't perform the basic combo it says on here, as Branded Opening locks you out from special summoning from the extra deck, except fusion monsters. Therefore, you can't xyz summon after Branded Opening's resolution.
