Timelord Burn Breakdown

Timelord Burn Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Timelords is an Archetype comprised of Level 10 Fairy Monsters ther often share the effects of being able to be Normal Summoned as long as you control no Monsters. They all have 0/0 ATK/DEF but cannot be destroyed by battle or Card Effects, however, reshuffle themselves back into the Deck whenever it's your Standby Phase.

The Timelord Archetype has more of a reactive playstyle, often times seen as a Control Deck meant to stall the game as much as possible as you maimixe your Timelord Monster's Effects to whittle down your opponent's LP.

Timelords

The Deck makes use of Timelord Monsters and a support in the form of Timelord Maiden. These monsters, though having 0/0 ATK/DEF, have some really serious Card Effects to deal with your opponent.

Sandaion, the Timelord Lazion, the Timelord Metaion, the Timelord Michion, the Timelord Sadion, the Timelord

Metaion has the effect that if it does battle, during the end of the Battle Phase, you have the option to bounce back as many Monsters on the field back to the hand, except for this one, dealing 300 Damage to your opponent for every Card returned to the hand.

Michion has the effect that halves your opponent's LP after combat at the end of the Battle Phase that it attacked. It is a great opener that immediately lowers the opponent's LP by a significant ammount.

Sandaion is at 3 copies, due to it dealing a flat amount of burn damage, while Sadion can help you survive with a clutch LP boost effect, and Lazion punishing the opponent if they draw a card once per turn.

Time Maiden

Time Maiden is probably the most vital card in the Deck. Time Maiden's role is to make sure you have a Timelord Monster in your hand and on the Field at all times.

It is also treated as 2 materials for Tribute Summoning a "Timelord" Monster, and can Tribute herself to search for a Timelord Monster from your deck and send it to the hand. Lastly, you can banish her from the GY to Special Summon a Timelord Monster from the Deck ignoring their Summon Conditions.

Trap Cards

Gravedigger Ring of Destruction Secret Barrel Secret Blast

The rest of the Deck is brought about by Trap Card that also aims to deal lots of effect damage to the opponent, often also by interrupting their plays. Most notable are Gravediigger's Trap Hole which negates monster effects then burns the opponent, and Ring of Destruction that destroys an opponent's monster.

Trap Trick Anti-Spell Fragrance Curse of Darkness

The rest of the Trap Cards are to supplement the Deck's playstyle. Trap Trick helps setting up the Trap Cards with effect damage, while the other two are Continuous Traps that make it hard to deal with the Trap Cards via Spell Cards.

Anti-Spell Fragrance gets special mention for forcing Spell Card activations to be delayed by a turn or two.

Extra Deck

The Extra Deck here is mostly for show. It's main purpose here is as fodder for your Pot of Extravagance and Pot of Desires to draw more cards, and possibly add more "Timelord" Monsters in your hand.

Optional Choices

Kaijus

Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju Interrupted Kaiju Slumber Thunder King, the Lightningstrike Kaiju Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju

Kaijus are essential in this deck especially for Decks like Timelord Burn that usually has to go second. You can use them to get rid of pesky monsters on your opponent's field.

Lava Golem

The honorary "Kaiju", Lava Golem, just gets the edge over the Kaijus because it can tribute 2 monsters the opponent controls, and they receive burn damage during their Standby Phases.
