Battlewasp is an archetype of Insect-type monsters, which is rare for the aforementioned monster type. By itself, it does have potential to swarm the field and have multiple monsters on the field to use for Synchro Summons.
This Deck Recipe simply uses the older cards that were already in Master Duel since launch, as well as the newer Battlewasp cards added in the Struggle in Wonderland Selection Pack. There are a couple of Link Monsters in the Extra Deck, but for the most part it will focus on Synchro Monsters.

These three Battlewasp monsters are at maximum copies of 3 to take advantage of their effects. Sting the Poison is both a searcher on summon, and a negation by tributing another Insect monster. Twinbow the Attacker can attack twice during the Battle Phase, and Special Summon itself from the hand.
The newest monster, Rapier the Onslaught, it can discard itself to place a Battlewasp Wind face-up on the field and Special Summon itself in one fell swoop. It can also banish itself from the GY in order to reduce the level of a monster the opponent controls.

Pin the Bullseye can Special Summon itself if you control another Battlewasp monster, and deals burn damage for every copy of itself on the field. Arbalest the Rapidfire can Special Summon a Level 3 or lower monster on Normal Summon, and when destroyed in the original owner's possession it can Special Summon a Battlewasp monster from the Deck.

Staple cards that can be seen in this Deck, although in reduced numbers because on the focus on the Battlewasp archetype. Gokipole can go from searcher to Special Summon if you teched in a Normal Monster, and Resonance Insect is a searcher and Foolish Burial, depending on which effect is activated.
Scary Moth is a floodgate when it hits the field, restricting Special Summons to just once per turn. Lastly, Beargram, Shelled Emperor of the Forest Crown can destroy all non-Insect and non-Plant monsters on the field once per turn, alongside making sure the opponent cannot respond to your Spell/Trap Card activations with monster effects.

Armed Rebeellion is a Special Summon from the Deck, and sends a card straight to the GY if the card did come from there. If you teched in Summoning Swarm, it doubles as a searcher for this Spell Card if you managed to meet its requirements.
As mentioned earlier, Battlewasp Wind can be cheated out onto the field through Rapier the Onslaught's effect. It is a twice-per-turn searcher if you Summon a Battlewasp monster, and once per turn it can turn an Insect Monster with a Level and turn it into a Tuner for a turn.

The lower-leveled Battlewasp Synchro Monsters do serve their purpose, both as offensive boss monsters and as stepping stones to stronger monsters. Halberd the Charge can cut the ATK of the monster it attacks in half, and deals additional burn damage for every Battlewasp monster you control.
On Synchro Summon, Sachi the Ceremonial Bow can be treated as a Tuner monster. By bouncing a Continuous Spell you control back to the hand, you get an additional Normal Summon for a Battlewasp monster.
Between the three here, Hama the Conquering Bow is more built for battles. If a Synchro Monster was used as material to Synchro Summon this card, it gains a second attack during Battle Phases. Then, it decreases all other monsters' stats if it manages to deal battle damage.

The first true boss monster among the Battlewasps is Ballista the Armageddon. On Summon, it can banish all other Insect monsters from your GY to decrease the stats of the monsters the opponent controls for each one. This maximizes the piercing battle damage it can do, as well as set up its third effect to Special Summon 3 banished Insect monsters.
Grand Partisan the Revolution is the newer of the two, boosting your Insect Synchro monsters' ATK while this card is on the field. This card can Special Summon itself after being banished, then destroys cards and deals burn damage based on the current number of banished Insect monsters.

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon can be an option here since it is rather easy to use a Synchro Monster as material, and is effective for its monster effect negation. Baronne de Fleur is a staple across any Deck that can Synchro Summon.
The unique card here is Diabolantis the Menacing Mantis, which can mill Insect and Plant monster from the Deck based on its materials. Then on Synchro Summon, it can also turn an Insect or Plant monster into another Tuner until the end of the turn.

While the full Ragnaraika Engine is not added to the Deck list, some of their Extra Deck Monsters can fit in well. Ragnaraika Selene Snapper can banish up to 2 monsters to destroy up to the same number of Spells/Traps the opponent controls.
Ragnaraika Stag Sovereign punishes Special Summons the opponent does by destroying two monsters they control. The best part is that both of these cards can Special Summon themselves from the GY if conditions are met!

A regular Battlewasp Combo can keep going for a lot longer thanks to the effects that keep Special Summoning materials and turning some of them into Tuners.
This combo lets players get to at least Grand Partisan the Revolution, the newest boss monster from the archetype, while having another monster on the field and one on hand to use to continue the combo your way.
| Cards Needed on Hand | |
|---|---|

| 4 | Activate the second effect of Battlewasp Wind; target Rapier the Onslaught and turn it into a Tuner. Then, using itself and Pin the Bullseye as materials, Synchro Summon Battlewasp - Sachi the Ceremonial Bow. Due to it being Synchro Summoned, Sachi is now treated as a Tuner |
| 5 | Activate the first effect of Battlewasp Wind on the field for the second time; target Sachi the Ceremonial Bow to add Arbalest the Rapidfire to the hand. Then, activate Sachi the Ceremonial Bow's second effect; bounce back Battlewasp Wind to the hand to gain an additional Normal Summon. |

Chain Link 1: Activate the effect of Diabolantis; send Gokipole from Deck to GY. |
| 9 | Trigger Gokipole's effect after being sent to the GY; add Resonance Insect from the GY back to the hand.. |
| 10 | Activate the effect of Diabolantis the Menacing Mantis; target itself to become a Tuner. Then, using itself and the Level 4 Battlewasp - Arbalest the Rapidfire, Synchro Summon Battlewasp - Grand Partisan the Revolution. This triggers Battlewasp Wind again; use it to search out Battlewasp - Sting the Poison for you to use down the line. |

Kashtira is one of the worst match-ups a Battlewasp player can face, unless they are loaded up with cards that can help protect their cards or clear the field of the Kashtira monsters that punish monster effects..
The last thing Battlewasps want is to have their cards banished, and have not enough space to accommodate their monsters on the field for a Synchro Summon or Link Summon. Kashtira Arise-Heart acts as a pseudo-Macro Cosmos, while Kashtira Shangri-Ira will Special Summon more Kashtira monsters, and block off Card Zones each time a card(s) gets banished face-down.

Maliss right now is the best Deck to run in all of Master Duel, for they relish the chance in getting banished to get card advantage. Only a handful of hand traps can stop them from going full combo when they do get to start, but even then they have ways to prepare around it.
White Binder and Hearts Crypter are the most dangerous of the Link Monsters, banishing cards that the Battlewasps like having: the field and the Graveyard. They also have a chance of having a copy of Dimension Shifter which banishes cards that were meant to go to the GY for the same turn and the next.
Maliss Deck Guide and Card List

Ryzeal is simple to pilot, and the end board it manages to build with just a Ryzeal Detonator and Ryzeal Cross is pretty strong in itrself.
Detonator's card destruction effect has no once-per-turn clause, meaning it can keep destroying a monster on the field so long as it has materials on it. This does not bodwe well for Battlewasp, as it needs materials on the field to conduct Synchro Summons.

Vanquish Soul has not been in the top of the meta for quite a while, but is still a formidable deck to go up against thanks to how they play. Tagging monsters in and out of the hand can be an infuriating thing to deal with as it evades targeted effects.
Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius in particular makes itself hard to remove if it reveals an EARTH monster from the hand. Rock of the Vanquisher, while on the field, makes sure all attacks are redirected to the Vanquish Sould monster with the highest ATK on the field.
Vanquish Soul Deck List & Card Guide
| Super Polymerization | |
|---|---|
|
|
A usual end board for Battlewasp would usually end with about 1 or 2 Battlewasp Synchro Monsters. For Decks that make use of Fusion Monsters with very generic materials, there is a real danger that they have Super Polymerization added to their Deck Recipes. There is almost no counter against this card except some circumstances too thanks to its activation mechanic. |
| Droll & Lock Bird | |
|
|
The Battlewasps need a couple of search effects to have the key cards on hand and on the field. Droll & Lock Bird is becoming a popular hand trap to consider again, and this should deny any searches other than the first it needs to resolve to activate its effect. This also hard counters Maxx "C" and the Mulcharmy cards to stop any further draws. |
| There Can Be Only One | |
|
|
There Can Be Only One is Limited to 1 for good reason, as this prevents multiple monsters of the same monster type. This means the opponent facing this card cannot have 2 or more monsters of the same type. For Battlewasp, this is a death sentence as most of its monsters in the Main Deck are mainly Insect-type monsters. |
| Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo | |
|
|
Battlewasps want to Special Summon as much as they can in order to get to their boss monsters via Synchro Summon. Floodgates will deter the archetype for reaching to that point. Limited to 1, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo is the best monster to floodgate the opponent with just one summon. It will also be protected with support cards like Moon Mirror Shield, and interruptions like Solemn Judgment and Draco-Utopian Aura. |
