| Dominus Purge | |
|---|---|
|
|
Dominus Purge can be activated from the hand if the opponent triggers an effect that adds a card from the Deck to the hand. Though the downside is that the user can no longer use effects from DARK, FIRE and WATER monsters for the rest of the Duel, Blue-Eyes Decks do not mind since they are predominantly composed of LIGHT monsters, and Primite monsters all have the EARTH attribute. |
| Ultimate Fusion | |
|
|
Ultimate Fusion can open Fusion monster options for the Blue-Eyes monsters, especially with Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (so long as you run a third copy of Blue-Eyes White Dragon). With certain Monster Cards added to the Deck recipe, this card can also open up a slot for Dragon Master Magia in the Extra Deck. |
| Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon | |
|
|
Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon can Special Summon itself from the hand by revealing a regular Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the same hand. It can destroy one monster the opponent controls at the cost of being able to attack the same turn, but the more crucial effect is that it takes on the name of the original Blue-Eyes while on the field or in the GY. |
| Deep-Eyes White Dragon | |
|
|
If a "Blue-Eyes" monster you control gets destroyed by the opponent, Deep-Eyes White Dragon can Special Summon itself from the hand--and burn the opponent for each Dragon-type monster in your GY. This monster is more for offensive purposes, taking on the ATK of a Dragon-type monster in the GY if this card is summoned. If this card gets destroyed itself, it nukes all the opponent's monsters on the field. |
| Master with Eyes of Blue | |
|
|
Master with Eyes of Blue can recycle the Level 1 Tuners in the GY, like Sage with Eyes of Blue and Maiden of White. It can also Special Summon a "Blue-Eyes" monster from the GY by shuffling itself and one other Effect Monster you control. |
| Primite Imperial Dragon | |
|
|
Primite Imperial Dragon can Special Summon itself by tributing one Normal Monster on the field--in this case, it will be Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It has a Quick Effect that lets players Normal Summon a "Primite" monster (including itself). On Tribute Summon, this card can either negate the effects of face-up monsters the opponent controls, or banish monsters with the same Type or Attribute as a chosen Normal Monster in the GY. |

Most of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon Deck's core strategy were already explained in its own pure version, and for the most part it remains unchained in this version.
What only changed in this Deck made it stronger and more consistent: the introduction of the Primite Engine.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon Deck Guide
The Primiite Engine is a very small group of cards that benefit an archetype if they have a Normal Monster to use. The cards' effects all revolve around Normal Monsters, and are key into making Blue-Eyes consistent.
For example, Primite Dragon Ether Beryl can act as a Foolish Burial for Blue-Eyes White Dragon by tributing itself, and can add itself back to the hand if there is a Normal Monster in the GY--again, Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Primite Lordly Lode act as a searcher for Ether Beryl, and can Special Summon a declared Normal Monster from nearly anywhere at the cost of not being able to use the effects of Special Summoned monsters.
The cherry on top is Primite Drillbeam, which works almost like Called by the Grave but for cards on the field. The only difference is that this card can Set itself back onto the Spell/Trap Zone if there is a Primite monster on the field, which should be Ether Beryl.
Another additional change is the addition of Bystial Magnamhut. Some players can opt to add more Bystial Dragons into the Deck, but realistically this card is here to further add support to the Primite Engine and have a copy of Ether Beryl on hand.
In the pure version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, players would opt to run one or two copies of Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon. In the Primite edition, players can go all in on three copies, as Primite Lordly Lode provides one last chance to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field to be used as Synchro material.
This means by the opponent's turn, they will have to face Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon, Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon, and Cosmic Blazar Dragon once the third Spirit Dragon successfully uses its effect.
More notable additions include Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous to take advantage of materials in mirror matches or against other LIGHT-centric Decks, and Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis as the last option to deal with the boss monsters with 3000 or more ATK.
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Activate Wishes for Eyes of Blue, then add Sage with Eyes of Blue, and Roar of the Blue-Eyed Dragons. |
| 2 | Normal Summon Sage with Eyes of Blue, and use its effect to add Maiden of White from the Deck. Then, discard Maiden to place True Light on the Spell/Trap Zone, face up. |
| 3 | Activate Roar of the Blue-Eyed Dragons; Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the Deck. This triggers Maiden of White's effect from the GY; use it to Special Summon itself back onto the field. |
| 4 | Activate Roar of the Blue-Eyed Dragons; Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the Deck. This triggers Maiden of White's effect from the GY; use it to Special Summon itself back onto the field. |
| 5 | Using Sage with Eyes of Blue as material, Link Summon Spirit with Eyes of Blue. On summon, this triggers its effect to add Mausoleum of White from the Deck to the hand.. |
| 6 | Activate Wishes for Eyes of Blue in the GY by banishing it; target your Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field; equip it with Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. With this, send Blue-Eyes White Dragon equipped with the Fusion Monster to the GY; Special Summon Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon. |
| 7 | Activate the second effect of Spirit with Eyes of Blue; tribute itself to the GY to Special Summon the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in the GY. |
| 8 |
Activate the following effects in sequence. Chain Link 1: Activate Mausoleum of Night and target Maiden of White; send Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the Deck to the GY. Chain Link 2: Due to being targeted with the Field Spell, you can activate Maiden of White's effect; Special Summon Sage with Eyes of Blue from the GY. |
| 9 | With the two Level 8 Blue-Eyes Dragons and two Level 1 LIGHT Tuners on the field, use them to Synchro Summon into two copies of Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon. |
| 10 | Activate the first Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon; tribute it, then Special Summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon. Then, activate the second Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon; tribute it to Special Summon Crimson Dragon. |
| 11 | On Crimson Dragon's summon, trigger its first effect; add a copy of Synchro Rumble to the hand. Then, using its effect, shuffle itself back onto the field to Special Summon Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon. |
A single Wish for Eyes of Blue can spiral the Deck into a proper combo, much like the other archetypes in recent Yu-Gi-Oh! where searching for a specific card can lead to a full combo at the end of the turn.

| Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon | |
|---|---|
|
|
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon is the archetype's newest boss monster, and the most impactful. This card can be cheated out using the effect of Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon, and can negate an effect that is triggered on the field to boost its own ATK. It also has a floating effect that can Special Summon a LIGHT Dragon-type monster from the GY other than itself. |
| Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon | |
|
|
Without Polymerization or Ultimate Fusion, Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon can still Special Summon itself so long as there is a Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field that is equipped with a Fusion Monster (which will be Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon). This monster is completely immune to Trap Cards and Effects, can launch attacks to all monsters the opponetn controls once each, and can set a Trap Card from the GY after this card attacks. |
| Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon | |
|
|
Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon is a crucial card for the combo with Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon, and is more often than not cheated out on the field with the help of Crimson Dragon. It prevents the effect Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon from destroying the former. It also has a monster effect negation that also destroys a card on the field when it resolves successfully. |
| Cosmic Blazar Dragon | |
|
|
Cosmic Blazar Dragon is another monster that can be brought out with Crimson Dragon's effect, but is more of a side option. It can banish itself until the End Phase for protection effects; either to negate a card activation, a monster Summon, or an attack declaration (which also ends the Battle Phase itself). |

Branded Despia Decks have one unique advantage all other Decks to go up against Primite Blue-Eyes--Fallen of Albaz. Even by setting this card while the Dragon-type boss monsters are on the field, this one monster in the Deck can whisk them all away (without even needing to use its effect or make use of Super Polymerization) as Fusion Material into Alba-Lenatus the Abyss Dragon.
There are more cards that can also mess with Blue-Eyes in a Branded Despia Deck. Masquerade the Blazing Dragon burns for each effect resolution, the various Bystial monsters can banish monsters and Special Summon themselves, and Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon is a specific monster to deal with Extra Deck monsters.
Branded Despia Deck List & Card Guide

Over the months, Tenpai Dragon has gotten multiple hits in the banlist with cards getting Limited and Semi-Limited. Still, this is a very powerful Deck when going second, and it takes full advantage of it with the help of board clears like Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster and Lightning Storm.
Once the field is clear of anything that endangers it, all the Deck needs to win is a single Tenpai Dragon Chundra and trigger its effect to win the game in the Battle Phase.
Tenpai Dragon Deck List & Card Guide

Yubel going first against Blue-Eyes will be a real challenge, with multiple cards having effects that can change the effects of monsters into an effect it can take advantage of: Destroy a "Yubel" monster. Most egregious of which is Phantom of Yubel, which does not even need to activate and effect to be Special Summoned.
More cards will also make this Deck a headache to fight against, as some include Nightmare Pain which forces the Battle Phase, Super Polymerization which can be used to summon Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever, and for some variants of the Deck, the Fiendsmith Engine which can go into either negation or denial of Special Summons.

Buster Blader is also a very good archetype to go into Blue-Eyes, and for the most part it might not even need Buster Dragon's effect of changing every other non-Dragon-type monster on the field into a Dragon.
The most dangerous monster to deal with is Buster Blader, The Dragon Destroyer Swordsman

| Maxx "C" | |
|---|---|
|
|
For the Blue-Eyes Deck to be able to construct its strongest field possible, it will need to do multiple Special Summons to get there. The usual deterrent for such a play is Maxx "C", which provides a draw for every Special Summon done during the turn. With the right conditions, this can be paired with Mulcharmy Fuwalos for additional card advantage. |
| Called by the Grave | |
|
|
There are quite a number of monsters in this Deck that trigger their effects in the GY, with the most important being Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon to get Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon out on the field as soon as possible. Called by the Grave negates said effects, as well as banishes them at the same time--the one area Blue-Eyes cards do not want to be. |
| Dimension Shifter | |
|
|
Another way to deny the GY for Blue-Eyes is to make sure they do not get to use it outright. Even at one copy, Dimension Shifter is enough to completely stop any plays for Blue-Eyes as all cards sent to the GY are instead banished, and can be a very dangerous effect to have to deal with while using Primite Dragon Ether Beryl's effect to send cards there. |
| Droll & Lock Bird | |
|
|
Search effects are also crucial for a Blue-Eyes Deck due to the fact that most of the cards needed are often searched out from the Deck. Droll & Lock Bird denies any further searches after the first one, discontinuing any furthe combo extensions to get to the boss monsters as soon as possible. |
