Cupid Pitch Turbo Deck Guide: How to Play

As of the September 30 banlist update, Crystron Halqifibrax has been moved into Forbidden Cards list. This card cannot be played in Casual Matches or in Ranked Matches.

Playstyle and Win Condition

Even though the recipe only runs one copy in the Extra Deck, this Deck is meant to play around the interesting effect of Cupid Pitch--one of the new Synchro Monsters introduced in the Valiant Wings Selection Pack. Its ability to increase or decrease its level as a Synchro Tuner changes the game a lot, and players can plan out their string of combos through this card's effect.

What enables this Deck's crazy chain of summons is through the Halqifibrax-Auroradon engine, most commonly used with Decks that can run both Synchro and Link monsters. The combo brings out the right tokens for the player to bring out Cupid Pitch and use the second effect of Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon to bring out another monster.

The abundance of Psychic-type monsters in this Deck are what enables this monster Deck, especially with the Quick-Play Spell Emergency Teleport. The fact that the Spell Card is not restricted by any once-per-turn clause means the player running this Deck can bring out the crucial cards needed. Bonus points that the P.U.N.K. archetype boosts the capacity to Special Summon more, furthering the combo to get to the end game board faster.

To safely get to the end game board for this turbo Deck, you need to have quite a lot of protection to make sure nothing interrupts the lead-up into it. Hand traps are key here like Ash Blossom, Effect Veiler and Nibiru should help out quite a lot. For pesky monsters on the field that can hamper them, Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju is a godsend to remove them from the field.

There are also Spells and Traps that are mainstays in any Deck that provide both disruption and clearing the field for your monsters to be summoned safely. Lightning Storm can handle both monsters and the backrow, Crossout Designator and Called by the Grave can deal with pesky hand traps, and Forbidden Droplet and Infinite Impermanence can handle against monster effects.

These boss monsters all have debilitating effects that shut down the opponent even before they make their first move, and the goal of this Deck is to have all five of these monsters out on the field at the same time. The last piece of the puzzle is usuall True King of All Calamities for its unusual Rank 9.

Thunder Dragon Colossus prevents the opponent from adding cards outside of drawing them, and the Synchro Monsters (Herald of the Arc Light, Borreload Savage Dragon, Baronne de Fleur) all have effect negation.

Core Combos and Interactions

Tip!	Nearly every single combo in this Deck is dependent on the Halqifibrax-Auroradon engine, alongside the usage of Cupid Pitch and its ability to increase or deccrease its level as needed. Make sure to take care that their effects resolve without any threat like negates or card bounce effects.

1	Activate Black Garden. So long as this Field Spell is active on the field, your monsters will have their ATK halved, and you get to summon a Rose Token with 800 ATK for every monster you summon on the opponent's side of the field.
2	Set Infinite Impermanence, and Normal Summon Assault Beast.
3	Activate Emergency Teleport, and Special Summon Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin. Activate its effect, pay 600 LP, and add Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune to the hand; afterwards using Ze Amin and Assault Beast as materials, Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax.
4	Upon Link Summoning Crystron Halqifibrax, Special Summon Deskbot 001 from the Deck. From there, using both Halqifibrax and Desktop as materials, Link Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; activate its effect upon being Link Summoned, and Special Summon three Level 3 tokens to your side of the field. When prompted, choose not to bring back Deskbot 001 from the Graveyard.

Tip!	At this point, the opponent's field will be full of Rose Tokens. Unless the opponent has use for Rose Tokens like Tribute Summoning or Link Summoning (if the summoning conditions are fulfilled), you have effectively locked out the opponent out of their Monster Zones.

5	Activate the effect of Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune from the hand; discard it, and Special Summon from the Deck Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider from the Deck.
6	Using Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider and two Level 3 Tokens as material, Synchro Summon Vermilion Dragon Mech. Activate its effect by banshing a Tuner from the Graveyard (specifically Joruri-PU.N.K. Madame Spider), then destroy Black Garden.
7	Activate the effect of Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; tribute both Vermilion Dragon Mech and the last Token on your field, to Special Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Coltwing. On the Special Summon, it activates its effect and Special Summon two more Level 3 tokens on your field.
8	Because the two Level 3 tokens are Machine-type monsters, this triggers the effect of Deskbot 001 on the field; Special Summon it.
9	Using one of the two Level 3 tokens and Deskbot 001 as materials, Synchro Summon Cupid Pitch. Upon being Synchro Summoned, choose to reduce its level to make it a Level 3 Synchro Tuner.
10	Using the second of the two Level 3 tokens and Cupid Pitch as materials, Synchro Summon Coral Dragon. Upon being sent to the GY, activate the second effect of Cupid Pitch; pay 600 LP, and search out Nemeses Corridor to add to the hand.
11	Activate the effect of Nemeses Corridor from the hand; target the banished Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider to be shuffled back to the Deck, and Special Summon the monster afterwards.
12	Using Coral Dragon and Mecha Phantom Beast Coltwing as materials, Synchro Summon Baronne de Fleur. Due to being sent to the GY, activate the effect of Coral Dragon to draw 1 card.
13	Tribute Nemeses Corridor to Special Summon Thunder Dragon Colossus from the Extra Deck. Set Infinite Impermanence afterwards.

3	Using Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune and Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider as materials, Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax. Upon Link Summoning, use its effect to Special Summon Deskbot 001 from the Deck. From there, using both Halqifibrax and Desktop as materials, Link Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; activate its effect upon being Link Summoned, and Special Summon three Level 3 tokens to your side of the field.
4	Using one of the three Level 3 tokens and Desktop 001 as material, Synchro Summon Cupid Pitch. Upon being Synchro Summoned, activate its effect to increase its Level by 1, turning it into a Level 5 Tuner.
5	Activate the second effect of Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; tribute itself and one of the remaining tokens, then Special Summon from the Deck Mecha Phantom Beast Coltwing. Afterwards, activate its effect, and Special Summon two more Level 3 tokens on your field.
6	Using one of the Tokens and the Level 5 Synchro Tuner Cupid Pitch, Synchro Summon Borreload Savage Dragon; activate its effect, equip Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon from the GY to this card; place 3 Savage Counters to this card and boost its ATK by 1050.
7	Upon being sent to the GY, activate the second effect of Cupid Pitch; search out Nemeses Corridor from the Deck and add to the hand.
8	Activate Jet Synchron's effect from the Graveyard; Special Summon itself. Then, using itself and another Level 3 token, Synchro Summon Herald of the Arc Light.
9	Activate the effect of Nemeses Corridor from the hand to target the banished Jet Synchron; Special Summon Nemeses Corridor, then shuffle Jet Synchron back to the Deck. Then, tribute Nemesis Corridor to Special Summon from the Extra Deck Thunder Dragon Colossus.

1	Activate One For One; send Assault Beast to the Graveyard, and Special Summon Psi-Reflector from the Deck. Upon being Special Summoned, search out Assault Mode Activate to add to the hand.
2	Activate the second effect of Psi-Reflector; reveal Assault Mode Activate from the hand, target Assault Beast from the GY and Special Summon it back onto the field. Choose to increase its Level by 1 to be a Level 5 monster.
3	Normal Summon Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin, then activate its effect; pay 800 LP, and search out a copy of Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune to add to the hand.
4	Using Psi-Reflector and the currently-Level 5 Assault Beast as materials, Synchro Summon Coral Dragon.
5	Activate the effect of Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune from the hand; discard this card and another card, then Special Summon a copy of Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider. Then, using both monsters as material, Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax.
6	Activate the effect of Crystron Halqifibrax upon being Link Summoned, then Special Summon Deskbot 001 from the Deck. Then, using both monsters as material, Link Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; activate its effect upon being Link Summoned, and Special Summon three Level 3 tokens to your side of the field.
7	After summoning the three Machine-type tokens, this triggers the effect of Deskbot 001 from the GY; Special Summon it back onto the field.
8	Using Coral Dragon and one of the three Level 3 tokens on the field as material, Synchro Summon Virtual World Kyubi - Shenshen. Upon being sent to the Graveyard, activate Coral Dragon's second effect to draw 1 card.
9	Activate the second effect of Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon; tribute the remaining two tokens to Special Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Coltwing from the Deck; this triggers its effect, and Special Summons two more Level 3 tokens on the field.
10	Using one of the Level 3 monsters and Deskbot 001, Synchro Summon Cupid Pitch. Then, activate its effect to decrease its Level to be a Level 3 Synchro Tuner monster.

Boss Monsters

	Thunder Dragon Colossus
	Easily brought out by tributing a single Thunder monster from the field, Thunder Dragon Colossus stops all other search effects by preventing any other cards to be added to the hand except by drawing. This monster alone can break combos before the opponent can have a chance at enacting on them.
	Borreload Savage Dragon
	While ideally a Deck with this Synchro Monster should have a LINK-4 Link Monster to make the most out of its effect negation, Borreload Savage Dragon can definitely make do with a LINK-3 in Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon. Once equipped with a Link Monster, this card also enjoys a stat-boost based on half that monster's ATK.
	Baronne de Fleur
	A Level 10 monster splashable in other Decks also finds its way to this Deck. Baronne de Fleur is feared not for its once-per-turn omni-negate effect, but also for the fact that it has fairly easy Synchro materials to fulfill to be able to Synchro Summon this card. It can also summon a Level 9 or lower monster from the GY in exchange of returning this card to the Extra Deck.
	Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying
	Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying might seem like an unorthodox pick for this Deck, but this is still a very powerful Boss monster once it hits the field. Should this card be destroyed by card effect, it can negate it by banishing a card. If a card is banished, this monster banishes more of the opponent's resources as well.
	True King of All Calamities

Thus, going up against Virtual World Decks, who are adept in banishing monsters with its key boss monsters, might be an ill-advised match-up for this Cupid Pitch Turbo Deck without a few cards teched in.

Best Cards to Tech Against Cupid Pitch Turbo

	Dark Ruler No More
	The best thting about Dark Ruler No More is that it cannot be responded to by monster effects--meaning not even Herald of the Arc Light or Borreload Savage Dragon can negate this card, when the end game of this Deck is to have as many negatets as possible through monster effects. It is well worth the trade-off of not being able to deal damage for the rest of the turn.
	Nibiru, the Primal Being
	The full combo of this Deck goes beyond five summons, which is perfect for Nibiru, the Primal Being to disrupt before it can bring out a monster that can negate its effect. The token with massive stats can be dealt with eventually with cards like Raigeki and Dark Hole.
	Summon Limit
	If players happen to go first agains this Deck, setting Summon Limit should be the first thing done. Once activatetd, it limits both players from summoning monsters, regardless of style, to only two monsters per turn. This completely hinders the combo of the Deck, which needs an uninterrupted chain of Special Summons to get to their win condition.
	Skill Drain
