Armored Xyz Shark Breakdown

Optional Cards

Xyz Remora Double Fin Shark Silent Sea Nettle Tin Goldfish

Cards to consider when building a Shark Deck is making use of WATER monsters that can Special Summon or can be Special Summoned easily to be able to have the materials to Xyz Summon. Cards like Xyz Remora, Double Fin Shark, Silent Sea Nettle and Tin Goldfish should make it easy to get monsters on the field as often as possible.

Barrier Statue of the Torrent

Special mention among the Main Deck options is Barrier Statue of the Torrent, which locks out both players out of Special Summoning non-WATER monsters. In this Deck, this can be a surprising floodgate against the opponent.

Rank-Up-Magic Barian Seventh Force Torpedo Takedown

Other optional support cards can be of great help for this Deck. Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force provides a bigger pool of Xyz Monsters that can be summoned via Rank Up, while Seventh Force provides an additional summon during the Battle Phase if you control a certain Xyz Monstre and its "Number C" counterpart.

Torpedo Takedown is a really versatlie card for the Deck, which does a little bit of everything: burn damage, an ATK boost, and drawing 2 cards.

Number F0: Utopic Future Number F0: Utopic Draco Future

With various Xyz Monsters of the same rank, an option for a more defensive play would be to go for Number F0: Utopic Future and then immediately going into Number F0: Utopic Draco Future.

Number 39: Utopia Number 39: Utopia Double Number S39: Utopia the Lightning Double or Nothing!

For more offensive power, a classic set of cards to run are the Utopia cards, specifically going with Number 39: Utopia Double, then eventually going for the win (and even an OTK) by doubling its attack with the help of *Double or Nothing!.

It also has its own Rank-Up variant in Number S39: Utopia The Lightning, which is another strong monster when it comes to battles.

Tellarknight Ptolemaeus Stellarknight Constellar Diamond Constellar Ptolemy M7

Tellarknight Ptolemaeus having been unbanned a couple of updates ago, it's becoming a powerful option to run if the Deck can go into Rank 4 Xyz monsters. Climbing into Stellarknight Constellar Diamond, and then into Constellar Ptolemy M7 is a great way to get multiple materials into an eventual Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder summon.

Boss Monsters

Number C101: Silent Honor DARK
Number C101: Silent Honor DARK Number C101: Silent Honor DARK has a very coveted effect among Xyz Monsters (and its main effect doesn't even detach materials), where it can absorb a monster on the field onto itself as material. It can Special Summon itself onto the field when sent to the GY with materials attached, and gains its user LP.
CXyz N.As.Ch. Knight
CXyz N.As.Ch. Knight CXyz N.As.Ch. Knight is pretty easy to summon once you get its prerequiste Xyz monster N.As.H. Knight on the field. Immune to card destruction effects, this card can be a cheat to summon a Number Xyz Monster betwen 101 and 107.
Full Armored Crystalzero Lancer
Full Armored Crystalzero Lancer While it needs a Rank 5 WATER Xyz Monster as a prerequisite for its cheat summon, Full Armored Crystalzero Lancer immediately takes advantage of it with an ATK boost for each material attached to it. It can detach a material instead if it is about to be destroyed by card effect, and it can negate all monster effects for a turn.
Full Armored Dark Knight Lancer
Full Armored Dark Knight Lancer For each material and Equip Card attached to Full Armored Dark Knight Lancer, it gains an ATK boost. It can recycle an "Xyz" card from the GY, making it easy to recover the Armored Xyz Cards, and it absorbs a monster as material once a turn when it gets an Equip Card.

Best Decks to Use Against Armored Xyz Shark

Floowandereeze

Floowandereeze Top Image.PNG

Floowandereeze has been a Deck that specializes in going up against Special Summon-centric Decks, using multiple Normal Summons and various floodgates to punish the opponent.

Runick

Runick Top Image.png
Various versions of Runick Decks are still a problem, even with numberous hits onto their Quick-Play Spells into the banlist, on top of the floodgates being affected as well. Most of these Decks are reactionary, however, thus making their gameplay reliant on how the Shark Deck player goes about their turn.

Snake-Eye Diabellstar

Master Duel - Snake-Eyes Top Image.png

Right now, Snake-Eyes is the strongest Deck in the game with its unmatched card advantage and various ways of ending the game. Especially helped with the power of the Diabellstar engine, and various effects that turn monsters into Continuous Spells/Traps, it will be a rather uphill battle going against this Deck as an Armored Xyz Shark player.

Kaiju

Master Duel - Kaiju Top Image.png

Kaijus are already a troublesome archetype to deal with as a splashable archetype across many Decks, but against a full-fledged Deck, they will simply take advantage of the Special Summons by tributing them.

As a Shark player, try to save your strongest Xyz Monsters for a game-winning play before they can tribute that boss monster away.

Best Cards to Tech Against Armored Xyz Shark

There Can Be Only One
There Can Be Only One There Can Be Only One limits both players to control one monster per affinity. This will completely bottleneck the Shark Deck if this card is active before they can do their first Xyz Summon.
Summon Limit
Summon Limit With multiple Xyz Monsters that can be Ranked Up into stronger monsters, Summon Limit will also bottleneck the Deck's ability to bring out the higher Ranked Xyz monsters. Though, this is best used in a Control Deck, as it also limits its user much like their opponent to two summons in a turn.
Maxx "C"
Maxx "C" The bane of all Special Summon-heavy Decks, Maxx "C" makes its user draw a card each and every time the opponent decides to Special Summon for the rest of the turn. Unless the player going up against this card's effect can Special Summon enough times for a Deck Out win condition, this will result in a massive card advantage.
Nibiru, the Primal Being
Nibiru, the Primal Being The one downside of an Xyz-centric Deck that focuses on Ranking Up the Xyz Monsters is that they can easily go past 5 summons in a single turn. This makes the Deck very susceptible against Nibiru, the Primal Being--and unless certain cards are teched in to counter this card, this card's efffect will most likely resolve.
