Argostars Breakdown

Alternate Cards for Argostars

Dimensional Fissure
Dimensional Fissure An Argostars Deck actually does not have that many monster cards in the Main Deck, so the effect of Dimensional Fissure is not that disadvantageous to the user as it is to the opponent. On top of that, the effect of Glorious Arda banishes itself in order to set two Continuous "Argostars" Trap Cards, meaning monsters to the GY are very minimal.
Metal Reflect Slime & Egyptian God Slime
Metal Reflect Slime Egyptian God Slime An option to consider with summoning Trap Cards as Monsters, Metal Reflect Slime is a great defensive option. It can also be used as tribute to get Egyptian God Slime on the field with ease, and once it hits the field it can redirect attacks and targeted card effects to itself.
Magic Planter
Magic Planter The Continuous Trap Cards from Argostars still retrain their Trap Card nature once they are summoned onto the field. This allows Magic Planter to use them as tribute in order to draw 2 cards. This can also be used if you do not need to use a floodgate anymore, and loosen restrictions to play aggressively.
Droll & Lock Bird
Droll & Lock Bird Droll & Lock Bird is an optional hand trap to consider for the Deck, as most of the stronger Decks and Archetypes rely on adding cards to the hand.
Trap Card Floodgates
Rivalry of Warlords Gozen Match There Can Be Only One The playstyle of the Argostars is qute slow and turns the Duel into a grind. With that in mind, consider running the multiple Continuous Trap Cards that bottleneck allowed summoning conditions. Do not be surprised if other variations of Argostars Decks would run Rivalry of Warlords, Gozen Match and There Can Be Only One all together.

Boss Monsters

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder
Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder Just in case that the field needs a hard restart, and you happen to have an Xyz Monster that just recently attacked, Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder is your key monster to consider. So long as it has two cards to detach for its effect, it can keep wiping the field of cards other than itself. Just be warned your own cards will be sent to the GY too!
Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir
Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir Most the Argostars Monster Cards and Continuous Trap Cards are Level 4 while on the field. When going defensive, you can never go wrong with summoning Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir. So long as this card is in Defense Position and with material, other monsters will be forced in Defense Position, and their effects will be negated while stuck there.
Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis
Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis Another defensive boss monster that is even easier to summon is Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis. Be careful with its summoning effect though; while it can bounce a monster back to the hand and negate monsters with 3000 ATK or more from activating effects, summoning this monster means you are done from summoning for the rest of the turn.
Number F0: Utopic Draco Future
Number F0: Utopic Draco Future If you happen to have two Xyz Monsters with the same Rank on the field (which should be Rank 4s), turn them into materials into Number F0: Utopic Future, then immediately into Number F0: Utopic Draco Future. This boss monster is immune to card destruction effects or battle destruction, and has a monster negate for a Quick Effect.

Argostars Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Argostars

Kashtira

Kashtira

The Main Deck Monsters of Kashtira Decks are very potent in punishing the activation of monster effects while certain cards are on the field. Fenrir, Unicorn and Ogre all deal with the resources of the player, and are easily summoned while its user controls no monsters on the field.

The most dangerous of which is Kashtira Arise-Heart, which can banish monsters from the field face-down as a Quick Effect, and especially Kashtira Shangri-Ira, which can block off a card zone for every instance a card(s) is banished face-down.

Kashtira Deck List & Card Guide

Primite Blue-Eyes

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

Blue-Eyes White Dragon is far too consistent of a Deck to deal with, and can play through most interruptions with the right cards. This is also further boosted with the addition of the Primite Engine, adding an additional omni-negate and banish close to Called by the Grave's effect.

On a complete field, we are looking at at least five interruptions, including an omni-negate. Three more are added if they make the decision to add Dragon Master Magia.

Horus Control

Horus Control

Multiple floodgates afoot, and different monsters easily summoned from the GY, make it easy for Horus Control to deal with Argostars. With King's Sarcophagus active, the Horus monsters can only be affected by targeted card effects--one of the few things the Argostars do not have unless teched in.

Even more dangerous is the fact of having a card leave the field while the Horus monsters are still on the field. If left unnegated, all of their effects will trigger to gain insurmountable card advantage, like Hapi getting cards in the banishment or GY, or Duamutef drawing cards for every unique monster in the user's Main Monster Zones.

P.U.N.K.

P.U.N.K.

P.U.N.K. recently got a significant boost in its playstyle with the arrival of its newer cards like Noh-P.U.N.K. Rising Scale for consistency and P.U.N.K. JAM FEVER! for card protection.

With the right card, they can deal with hand traps with ease (including Dimension Shifter, which is a great counter against P.U.N.K. Decks), and can have monsters with big stats well. With the costs of LP decreasing LP, this can further boost the power of Psychic End Punisher to go for an OTK.

*The recipe for the P.U.N.K. Deck Guide will be updatd soon to feature the new additions soon!

Best Cards to Tech Against Argostars

Jinzo
Jinzo Jinzo is the best floodgate against all Trap Cards, and this includes Trap Monsters like the Argostars' Continuous Trap Cards. Should one activate while this card is on the field, that Continuous Trap stays in the Spell/Trap Zone, and does not become a monster. They stay there after Jinzo leaves because their activation effect to become monsters was negated.
Dominus Impulse
Dominus Impulse For Decks that do not have LIGHT, EARTH or WIND monsters, players can make good use of Dominus Impulse. This effectively stops the Trap Monsters's initial activation to become monsters on the field. Like Jinzo, the Continous Trap stays in the Spell/Trap Zone and is not considered a monster.
Eradicator Epidemic Virus
Eradicator Epidemic Virus Decks like Labrynth would want to grab Eradicator Epidemic Virus. If they call it right and declare Trap Cards, all Trap Monsters will be destroyed on hand before it can even be Set and activated to be summoned.
Kashtira Shangri-Ira
Kashtira Shangri-Ira The reason why Kashtira Shangri-Ira gets a special mention here as a counter is because of its zone-locking effect. Lock enough zones, and the Trap Monsters this Deck has can encounter unique problems, including lack of Spell/Trap Zones to set them, or lack of Monster Zones to summon them.
