Zoodiac Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Zoodiac finally reclaims its full strength from its glory days in the TCG/OCG formats, with the recent unbanning of Zoodiac Barrage and Zoodiac Drident from the December 5, 2023 Banlist Update.

The Deck is built entirely on its ability to Xyz Summon multiple times, with Zoodiacs being one of the strongest Xyz-centric archetypes in Yu-Gi-Oh!'s history. It's combined with another Xyz-centric archetype--Kashtira, to further provide control over the field with various punishes.

Xyz Summon out Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder and repeatedly wipe your opponent's board across three turns, attacking them each time with its 3000 ATK. Alongside that, Zoodiac Drident can help remove monsters cards from the field with a Quick Effect, and Kashtira Arise-Heart doubles as a floodgate by forcing all cards to be banished instead of going to the Graveyard!

Required Cards

Use any of your Traps or Spells to clear your opponent's Field, like Raigeki, Lightning Storm, Torrential Tribute, or Mystical Space Typhoon to make things easier.
Step	Description
①	Normal Summon Zoodiac Ramram onto the Field.
②	Xyz Summon Zoodiac Hammerkong using the Zoodiac Ramram on the Field as material.
③	Enter the Battle Phase and Attack your opponent using your Zoodiac Hammerkong.
④	Now, on your Second Main Phase, Xyz Summon Zoodiac Tigermortar using the Zoodiac Hammerkong on the Field as material.
⑤	Xyz Summon Zoodiac Boarbow using the Zoodiac Tigermortar on the Field as Material.
⑥	Xyz Summon Zoodiac Chakanine using the Zoodiac Boarbow on the Field as Material. If your opponent has Nibiru, the Primal Being, this should be when they'll use it.
⑦	As you only have one copy of Zoodiac Drident, we're leaving it up to this step so as not to waste it, in case your opponent has a Nibiru, the Primal Being → Xyz Summon Zoodiac Drident using the Zoodiac Chakanine on the Field as Material.
⑧	Xyz Summon Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder in Defense Position using the Zoodiac Drident on the Field as Material.

This is a simple combo that starts with 1 Card and ends with a Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder with 6 materials attached to it.

With 6 Materials, Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus - Sky Thunder can potentially perform 3 full field wipes. And, with 3000 ATK, perofming said Board Wipe before attacking 3 times, will definitely defeat your opponent.

Going with a deck similar to the Drytron Fairy Control Deck that can control the flow of the Duel may turn things to your favor!

Best Cards to Tech Against Zoodiac

	Maxx "C"
	Due to the sheer number of times a Zoodiac Deck can Xyz Summon in a single turn,
	Solemn Judgment
	A trap that negates a summon of a monster at the cost of HALF your LP. As Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder is Limited to 1, maybe spending half your LP would be worth it to get it out of comission.
	Nibiru, the Primal Being
	As Zoodiac Decks need to chain Xyz Summons, using this after 5 overall Summons will definitely set your opponent back. Try to save activating this Trap until after the opponent is about to move out of the Main Phase after they've done all their summons.
	Solemn Strike
	Another trap like Solemn Judgment that can be used to negate a Summon or an activation of a Monster Effect at the cost of 1500LP.

Limit Summons & Negate

This Zoodiac Deck relies on searches and chaining summons to use for Xyz Summons to create a strong board early in the game.

Using a combination of spells and traps to interrupt your opponent will quickly put the duel in your favor.
