Goal is to get as many Skull Servant Monsters into the GY to make King of the Skull Servants stronger Can use various Zombie supports to send cards to GY, or Special Summon them from there Boss monsters available in both Main Deck and Extra Deck
|
Skull Servant, one of the weakest monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!, has retrains of itself via the Wight archetype--which all share the effect of taking on its name whether on the Field or in the GY.
An additional retrain is King of the Skull Servants, which gets stronger for every "Skull Servant" sitting in the GY. With about 21 different monsters that can carry that name, if the stars align this Level 1 monster could have over 10000 ATK--or more, depending on how many "Skull Servants" are in there.
The "Wight" archetype helps out with getting as many of them to the Graveyard as possible, whether by sending them from the Deck or bringing them back from your banish pile.
Each of the Wight monsters have their respective abilities to enable sending cards to the GY. Wightbaking and Wightprince can send monsters from the Deck straight to the GY, with the latter being able to Special Summon King of the Skull Servants by banishing 2 Skull Servants from the GY.
The Lady in Wight, while on the field, makes all Level 3 or lower Zombie-type monsters on the field immune to battle destruction and Spell/Trap effects. This card acts as protection to your monsters on the field.
Wightmare and Wightprincess can discard themselves from the hand; the former being able to choose between banishing or Special Summoning, and the later making monsters on the field lost ATK and DEF based on their respective Levels or Ranks.
As the Skull Servant and the Wights are all Zombie-type monsters, they can benefit heavily from a couple of support cards for the monster type. Uni-Zombie discards a card or sends one from Deck to GY to raise a Zombie's level by 1, while Glow-Up Bloom can search or send Zombies to the GY.
Mezuki can Special Summon a Zombie-type monster from the GY, amd Gozuki can use a Zombie-type Foolish Burial effect.
Necroworld Banshee provides help by setting up Zombie World, while Doomking Balerdroch can Special Summon itself from the GY while a Field Spell is active every Standby Phase, threating the opponent with its choice of a negate or banish effect.
Sending cards to the GY is the main strategy for the Deck, and there are multiple Spell Cards that enable this. If the opponent calls the monster Level wrong in Reasoning , it is a free Special Summon of a monster. Card Destruction can mess up the opponent's hand by sending it all to the GY alongside your own hand.
The crown jewel of sending cards to the GY is That Grass Looks Greener. If your opponent plays a standard Deck of 40 cards, that's a minimum of 20 cards sent from the Deck to the GY in one fell swoop.
Have a couple of LINK-1 Monsters if you have to summon one of the "Wight" monsters, especially those that have effects triggering when sent to the GY. Classic choices include Linkuriboh to be able to stop an attack, and Relinquished Anima if the opponent ends up summoning a monster that's directly adjecent to an unused Extra Monster Zone.
Vampire Sucker can steal a monster from the opponent's GY and turn them in to a Zombie-type monster, while providing a free draw on top of that. This can easily switch into Vampire Fascinator which can also steal a monster from their GY and turn them into a Zombie.
For each Zombie-type monster in the GY, Red-Eyes Zombie Necro Dragon gets stronger. When destroyed, its floating effect triggers, and can summon a Zombie monster from either player's GY.
Skeletal Dragon Felgrand acts as a negate, but it also has an effect that banishes a monster the opponent controls.
Lastly, you can use these two monsters to go into Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord, which can Special Summon a Zombie-type monster from either GY as a Quick Effect. When sent to the GY, it can just Special Summon itself by banishing a Zombie--making this card hard to remove unless it gets banished or shuffled back as a response.
Sample Hand 1 | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Normal Summon Wightprincess; its effect activates upon being Normal Summoned, and send Wightprince from the Deck to the GY. Upon being send to the GY, trigger Wightprince's effect; send one copy each of Skull Servant and The Lady in White from the Deck to the GY. |
2 | Activate Allure of Darkness, and draw two cards. For this combo's sake, let's say the cards drawn were Wightmare and King of the Skull Servants. Banish the latter, King of the Skull Servants. |
3 | Activate Wightprince from the GY; banish itself, Skull Servant and The Lady in White from the GY; then Special Summon King of the Skull Servants from the Deck. |
4 | Activate Wightprincess from the hand; send it from the hand to the GY; all monsters on the field will lose 300 ATK & DEF for each Level/Rank they have until the end of the turn. |
5 | Activate Burial from a Different Dimension; target Wightprince, The Lady in Wight and King of the Skull Servants and bring them back from the banished pile into the GY. |
6 | Activate Wightmare from the hand; send it from the hand to the GY; send Skull Servant from the banished pile to the GY. |
7 | Repeat Step 3. |
Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord | |
---|---|
Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord can Special Summon a targeted Zombie-type monster from the GY as a Quick Effect during the opponent's turn, which can turn the tides in your favor. It can also banish another monster in order to Special Summon itself from the GY. | |
The Zombie Vampire | |
By activating The Zombie Vampire's effect, it makes both players mill 4 cards to the GY, and Special Summon a monster from the milled cards. If the opponent ends up milling a powerful boss monster, like say a Kashtira Fenrir, you can summon it your side on the field and use it to your advantage. | |
Vampire Fascinator | |
Upon being Link Summoned, Vampire Fascinator can steal a monster from the opponent's GY and Special Summon it to your side of the field. It can also take control of another monster they control, but this specific only lasts until the End Phase, so act quickly in using them. | |
Doomking Balerdroch | |
Doomking Balerdroch can Special Summon itself from the GY once per turn when you control a Field Spell. Its ability to negate effects or banish a monster from the field/GY is also once per Chain, which can bamboozle players while you control Zombie World. |
The Exosisters specialize in dealing with Decks that move their cards in and out of the GY, which is something that Zombie Decks usually do--Skull Servants, included. They also banish a lot of cards from the field and GY, which can absolutely wreck this Deck's play style.
Exosister Deck List & Card Guide
There's not much Skull Servants can do against a Labrynth Deck that has their multitude of Trap Cards set up. Especially when the recursions begin with the help of Stovie Torbie, Chandraglier and Cooclock.

Kashtira Decks punish monster effects as much as possible, by banishing cards from basically everywhere. It gets especially hard for this Deck if they manage to bring out Kashtira Arise-Heart early, to banish all cards sent to the GY instead.

As of writing, Snake-Eye Diabellstar is the newest Deck making waves in Master Duel, and it seems to be well on its way to being one of the strongest Decks in the current meta. It can do it all; negate effects, destroy cards, search and Special Summon on either player's turn, and even turning certain monsters into Continuous Spells.

Dimension Shifter | |
---|---|
Once Dimension Shifter is activated from the hand, all cards sent to the GY are banished instead, and it lasts for the rest of the turn. Skull Servants need the GY in order to play out their strategy, so make sure to negate its effect if this hand trap is activated. | |
Skill Drain | |
So long as Skill Drain is on the field, all monsters on the field have their effects negated. This does not bode well for this Deck, especially for certain boss monsters like King of the Skull Servants and Doomking Balerdroch. | |
Maxx "C" | |
Zombie-centric Decks often play around Special Summoning a lot of their monsters from the GY, which makes Maxx "C" be very potent against this Deck. For each Special Summon it does, the hand trap user gets to draw a card. Draw enough, and the card advantage becomes way too advantageous. | |
Keldo the Sacred Protector & Mudora the Sword Oracle |
|
With Skull Servants needing the GY as part of their resource pool, denying them that right can mess up certain strategies as much as possible. The infamous shufflers Keldo the Sacred Protector and Mudora the Sword Oracle can do this that affects both players. | |
Necrovalley | |
Necrovalley straight-up prevents any cards from being moved out of the GY. For a Deck that needs to Special Summon monsters from there, this Field Spell will lock both players' Graveyards down, unless the other opponent ends up playing Gravekeepers. |
