Fluffal Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Fluffal is a fun archetype to play. They're cute little animals, but when paired with their Edge Imp bretheren, can Fuse into scary Frightfur Monsters that have really strong effects making it easy to destroy your enemy.

A deck mostly made to go second, Fluffal Monsters on their own have effects that Search for Edge Imps or Special Summon more Fluffal Monsters onto the field. Together with GY effects that shuffle Fusion Spell cards back into the Deck, you can rest assured that you'll have more than enough cards to bring out the scary Frightfur Monsters to finish off your opponent.

Sample Combo

Required Cards
Fluffal Dog Fluffal Dolphin Frightfur Patchwork
Go Second
Step Description
Set and Activate Frightfur Patchwork to add one Polymerization and one Edge Imp Chain to your Hand.
Normal Summon Fluffal Dog and activate its Effect → Search for Fluffal Bear from the Deck and send it to the Hand.
Activate Fluffal Bear's Effect from the Hand to send it to the GY to set a Toy Vendor onto the Field.
Activate Toy Vendor, hopefully you draw a Fluffal Monster so you can Special Summon it onto the Field. If not, it's not the end of the world.
Activate Polymerization → Fusion Summon Frightfur Cruel Whale using the Fluffal Dolphin and Edge Imp Chain in your Hand.
Activate Edge Imp Chain & Fluffal Dolphin's Effects in the GY as Chain Link 1 & 2 respectively → Chain Link 2: Fluffal Dolphin's Effect activates and reshuffle Polymerization into your Deck. → Chain Link 1: Edge Imp Chain's Effect activates and search for a Frightfur Fusion from the Deck and send it to the Hand.
Set and activate Frightfur Fusion and Fusion Summon another Frightfur Cruel Whale by banishing the Fluffal Dolphin and Edge Imp Chain in the GY.
Now, go into Battle Phase → Attack using one of your Frightfur Cruel Whales → Trigger its Effect → Target itself and send any Frightfur Card from the Deck or Extra Deck in this case Frightfur Repair to gain 1300 ATK making it 3900ATK.
Repeat with your other Frightfur Cruel Whale and Attack with another 3900ATK monster.
Finish your opponent off with Fluffal Dog

This is a simple Combo that leaves you with 2 3900ATK Monsters on the field. Assuming your opponent doesn't have anything on the Field, can definitely be viable for an OTK.

Alternatively, you can summon True King of All Calamities using the 2 Frightfur Cruel Whales on the Field to basically lock your opponent out from Attacking or activating Monster Effects.

Best Cards to Tech Against Fluffal

Contact "C"
Contact "C" Contact "C" pretty much locks your opponent's Fluffal Deck by stopping them from Special Summoning from their Extra Deck, unless they use it as Material. This means they can't just bring out their Synchro Monsters to dish out even more damage.
PSY-Framegear Gamma
PSY-Framegear Gamma A hand trap that can be used to negate the effects of your opponent's Fluffal Deck Monster's Effects, destroying them in the process.
Prohibition
Prohibition Using Prohibition and naming cards like Toy Vendor, or other similar cards will pretty much lock your opponent's Fluffal Deck from being able to perform as it should. Just make sure to use it as soon as you know that your opponent is using a Fluffal Deck before they can bring out any of these cards.
Effect Veiler
Effect Veiler Another hand trap like PSY-Framegear Gamma that can be used to negate Monster Effects.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring This card can be quickly used to cancel specific effects that are at the core of Fluffal Deck by discarding this card.

Limit Summons & Negate

This Fluffal Deck relies on searches and chaining summons to use for Fusion Summons to create a strong board early in the game.

Using a combination of spells and traps to interrupt your opponent will quickly put the duel in your favor.
