Igknight OTK Breakdown

Igknight OTK Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

By all accounts, the Deck should look more like a powerful swarming Deck that can pump out very powerful Fusion Monsters without even needing to conduct a Fusion Summon. It looks like an Aggro Beatdown Deck, but instead the twist involves the monsters used for its true win condiiton: burn damage.

Igknight Cavalier Igknight Crusader Igknight Gallant Igknight Paladin
Pendulum Scale of 2
Igknight Gallant Igknight Margrave Igknight Squire Igknight Templar
Pendulum Scale of 7

The Deck's stratetgy lies first with the Igknights arechetype. Having as many as possible allows for as much of a chance to use their effects and search out the next piece of the combo. It is also essential to have monsters with a Scales 2 and 7 on hand at all times to properly conduct a Pendulum Summon down the line.

Sublimation Knight Squeaknight Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights Crystron Halqifibrax Junk Anchor Infernoble Knight - Renaud

The next pieces lie with these cards. The Igknights are first used to search out Sublimation Knight which uses its effect to equip Squeaknight, and afterwards Squeaknight can Special Summon itself onto the field. This is when you can go into Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights--and the Link Markers provides access to a Pendulum Summon.

Crystron Halqifibrax, Infernoble Knight - Renaud and Junk Anchor are crucial for the next step, chaning summon after summon to move on to a possible Synchro Summon.

Road Warrior Cyber-Stein Reprodocus Telekinetic Charging Cell

Synchro Summoning Road Warrior is where the strategy should begin to take shape, and using its effect you have to Special Summon Cyber-Stein, one of the most crucial cards in this Deck. Afterwards, Link Summoning Reprodocus is the next priorty, as this will provide the ability to change Cyber-Stein's typing to Psychic.

Once Cyber-Stein is turned into a Psychic-type monster, it can now be equipped with Telekinetic Charging Cell, the Equip Spell Card that completely negates what should be a 5000 LP cost every time Cyber-Stein's effect is activatted.

D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom Windwitch - Crystal Bell

At this sage, it is only a matter of activating its effect multiple titmes until the necessary conditions are met. Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale needs to be in the Graveyard to be properly used. D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon are there to mainly be used as materials to bring out Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and have its effect that it copied be copied by proxy through Windwitch - Crystal Bell's effect.

Core OTK Combo

The only requirement for this Deck to properly work is to have at least 3 Igknight monsters, regardless of their Pendulum Scales, in your Hand.

1 Activate two Igknight monsters in your Hand as Pendulum Scales, regardles of the value of the Scales.
2 Activate the Pendulum Effects of one of your Scales; this destroys itself and the other Pendulum Scale, and search out Sublimation Knight from the Deck.
3 Normal Summon Sublimation Knight, activate its effect upon being Normal Summoned, then Equip Squeaknight to it. Then, activate Squeaknight's effect, and Special Summon it onto the field.
4 Using Sublimaiton Knight and Squeaknight as materials, Link Summon Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights.
Gems Tip! If you do not have the proper Pendulum Scales, or are missing a Pendulum Scale at this point, you can either use the Igknights engine again to search for the proper scales, or you can use Reinforcement of the Army and Summon Art to complete the set of Scales!
Reinforcement of the Army Summoner
5 Actviate the Igknight Monsters with the Scales of 2 and 7, and Pendulum Summon the monsters that are on top of the Extra Deck that were destroyed earlier, onto the Monster Zones pointed at by Isolde. Make sure one of the two monsters that are Pendulum Summoned is Level 5.
6 Activate the effect of Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights; send Telekinetic Charging Cell to the Graveyard, and Special Summon from the Deck Infernoble Knight - Renaud. Then, upon being Special Summoned, activate Renaud's effect, and add the tossed Equip Spell from the GY to the hand.
7 Activate one of your Pendulum Scales once again; destroy itself and the other Pendulum Scale, and search out the second copy of Infernoble Knight - Renaud. Afterwards, Special Summon it through its effect, and through that effect this monster is now treated as a Tuner monster.
8 Using the Infernoble Knight - Renaud turned Tuner and Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights as materials, Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax. Upon being Special Summoned, its effect triggers, and Special Summon from the Deck Junk Anchor.
9 Using the Level 2 Junk Anchor with Infernoble Knight - Renaud and the Level 5 Igknight monster that was Pendulum Summoned earlier as materials, Synchro Summon Road Warrior.
10 Activate Road Warrior's effect, and Special Summon from the Deck Cyber-Stein.
11 Using the other Pendulum Summoned monster from earlier and Crystron Halqifibrax as materials, Link Summon Reprodocus.

12 Activate the effect of Reprodocus, turning the monsters pointed at by its Link Monsters (by proxy, Cyber-Stein) into Psychic-type monsters until the end of the turn. Afterwards, equip Telekinetic Charging Cell onto the now Psychic-type Cyber-Stein.
13 Activate Cyber-Stein's effect, and Special Summon Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale. Then, using itself and Reprodocus as materials, Link Summon another copy of Reprodocus. This is to make room in the Main Monster Zones.
14 Acttivate Cyber-Stein's effect three more times, and Special Summon Windwitch - Crytsal Bell first, then two copies of D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon.
15 Send the two copies of D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon to the top of the Extra Deck (as they are Pendulum Monsters), and Special Summon from the Extra Deck Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom.
16 Activate the effect of Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom; copy the effect of Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale from your GY. Do the same with the effect of Windwitch - Crystal Bell.
17 Activate the effects of Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and Windwitch - Crystal Bell in whatever order you wish. Each activation will deal 4000 LP as burn damage; the successful activation of both monsters' effects should be lethal and deal 8000 Damage.

Boss Monsters

Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom
Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom is a crucial monster, which has summoning condition that's easy to fulfill in this Deck in needing 2 DARK Pendulum Monsters. Having impressive stats, this monster is also capable of copying the effect of a monster on the field or in the Graveyard.
Windwitch - Crystal Bell
Windwitch - Crystal Bell The second half of the burn damage tandem, Windwitch - Crystal Bell can copy the effect of monsters on either player's Graveyard and use it as its own. Using this in tandem with Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale allows it to deal the win condition of dealing lethal burn damage.
Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale
Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale needs to be in the Graveyard for this OTK to properly work. This will allow Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and Windwitch - Crystal Bell to deal lethal effect damage by copying this card's effect, which not only boosts its ATK, but also deal effect damage based on their Levels x 500.
D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon
D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon On its own, D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Amrmageddon is a monster with very impreessive stats and equally impressive effects. However, in this Deck this card is used with another copy as Fusion Material for Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom, being a DARK Pendulum monster after all.

Igknight OTK Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Igknight OTK

There is one condition for these Decks to stand a chance against the OTK combo: win the coin toss, and go first. Do not let an Igknight OTK Deck go first in under any circumstance, as it will have a better chance to proplerly conduct its combo.

Drytron Fairy

Drytron Fairy Top Image.png

Drytrons are equipped with some of the most potent effect-negating cards in the game besides powerful monsters, and when Herald of Ultimateness is out on the field, its effect can be used enough times to completely cripple the Igknights' OTK attempt.

Eldlich Control

YGO Master Duel - Eldlich Control Deck Guide Banner.png

Even with recent hits on the Eldlich Control Deck's list of cards in the most recent banlist update, it still can handle well in crippling the Igknight deck from even attempting the OTK. Skill Drain in particular remains the most paralyzing card, especially once the player brings out Cyber-Stein.

Best Cards to Tech Against Igknight OTK

Rainbow Life
Rainbow Life If you do not have any way in dealing with the Deck's high-ATK boss monsters, just tackle the burn damage head on. Rainbow Damage turns all damage, whether battle or effect, into additions into your own Life Points instead. If the Igknights player is not aware or careful, they could end up giving you an additional 8000 ATK instead of burning to 0.
Prime Material Dragon
Prime Material Dragon So long as Prime Material Dragon is on the field, it basically carries Rainbow Life's effect against Effect Damage; any burn will turn into a heal instead, increasing Life Points. On top of that, the secondary effect provides a once-per-turn negate against monster-destroying effects.
Summon Limit
Summon Limit For an OTK combo, the Deck does need quite a few summons to properly deal the lethal damage. For Summon Limit to work, the Igknigh player has to go second, and you can activate this as soon as their turn begins and the prompt allows it. This forces you and the Igknight player to only have two summons; forcing both to make the summons count.
Infinite Impermanence
Infinite Impermanence Infinite Impermanence is most likely your best shot in stopping the OTK from happening, and works regardless of the Igknight player going first or second. The best time to activate this Trap Card would be when Cyber-Stein activates its effect, neutralizing any present and fuure Special Summons for the rest of the turn and preventing them from getting the key monsters out.
