Cyber Dragon Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Cyber Dragon Decks mostly focus on an Aggro with a bit of Control playstyle.

The Cyber Dragon Archetype's main draw is it's consistent ability to quickly summon high ATK Fusion Cyber Dragon Monsters that can attack multiple times, dealing a ton of damage to your opponent..

Sample Combo

Required Cards
Cyber Dragon Core Cyber Dragon Herz
Step Description
Normal Summon Cyber Dragon Core. → Activate Cyber Dragon Core's Effect and search for Cyber Repair Plant in the Deck and send it to the Hand.
Link Summon Salamangreat Almiraj using the Cyber Dragon Core on the field.
Activate Cyber Repair Plant → Search for Galaxy Soldier from the Deck and send to your Hand.
Activate Galaxy Soldier's Effect from the hand → Discard Cyber Dragon Herz and Special Summon Galaxy Soldier from the Hand.
Galaxy Soldier & Cyber Dragon Herz's Effects will both trigger as Chain Links 1 & 2 respectively → Chain Link 2: Use Cyber Dragon Herz's Effect to search for Cyber Dragon from the Deck and send it to the Hand → Chain Link 1: Galaxy Soldier's Effect to search for your other Galaxy Soldier from the Deck and send it to the Hand.
Activate Galaxy Soldier's Effect from the hand → Discard Cyber Dragon and Special Summon Galaxy Soldier from the Hand.
Xyz Summon Cyber Dragon Nova using the two Galaxy Soldiers on the field.
Detach 1 material from Cyber Dragon Nova → Special Summon Cyber Dragon from the GY onto the Field.
Xyz Summon Cyber Dragon Infinity using the Cyber Dragon Nova on the Field.
Link Summon Predaplant Verte Anaconda using both the Salamangreat Almiraj and Cyber Dragon on the Field. → Activate Predaplant Verte Anaconda's Effect and sacrifice 2000LP to target Overload Fusion and Fusion Summon Chimeratech Rampage Dragon by banishing both the Cyber Dragon and Cyber Dragon Herz in the GY.
Activate Chimeratech Rampage Dragon's Effect and Destroy up to 2 of your opponent's Spell/Trap Cards set on their Spell/Trap Zone.

This Combo pretty much leaves you with a 2500 ATK Cyber Dragon Infinity on the field with two negates, as well as a 2100ATK Chimeratech Rampage Dragon.

Though seemingly not enough, you also have the option of targeting one of your opponent's Face-Up Attack Position Monsters with Cyber Dragon Infinity and attatching it as Material, gaining another 200ATK, as well as sending 2 Light Machine Monsters from your Deck to the GY for your Chimeratech Rampage Dragon gains 2 additional attacks that turn.

Best Cards to Tech Against Cyber Dragon

Contact "C"
Contact "C" Contact "C" pretty much locks your opponent's Cyber Dragon Deck by stopping them from Fusion Summoning, unless they use it as Material.
PSY-Framegear Gamma
PSY-Framegear Gamma A hand trap that can be used to negate the effects of your opponent's Cyber Dragon Deck Monster's Effects especially when used against cards like Cyber Dragon Core or other similar cards, destroying them in the process.
Prohibition
Prohibition Using Prohibition and naming cards like Power Bond, Overload Fusion, or Cyber Emergency will pretty much lock your opponent's Cyber Dragon Deck from being able to perform as it should. Just make sure to use it as soon as you know that your opponent is using a Cyberdark Deck before they can bring out any of these cards.
Effect Veiler
Effect Veiler Another hand trap like PSY-Framegear Gamma that can be used against cards like Cyber Dragon Core, and the like.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring This card can be quickly used to cancel specific effects that are at the core of Cyberdark decks by discarding this card.

Limit Summons & Negate

This Cyber Dragon Deck relies on searches and chaining summons to use for Fusion Summons to create a strong board early in the game.

Using a combination of spells and traps to interrupt your opponent will quickly put the duel in your favor.
