Zombie World P.U.N.K. Deck Guide: How to Play

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - Zombie World P.U.N.K. How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

This Zombie World Deck, which is known for its extensive Graveyard use, is a variation mixed with key P.U.N.K. cards to improve combo consistency. Zombie World, as an archetype, revolves around their Field Spell that makes every Monster on the board a Zombie.

The Deck is known for its drawn-out plays through Doomking Balerdroch's effects and his ability to manipulate the opponent's board by turning them into Zombies and having numerous interruptions.

Main Deck

Monsters

Uni-Zombie

Uni-Zombie is the main engine of the Deck, capable of both starting and extending their combos as a Tuner for Synchro Summons. This card can also send Zombies from both the Graveyard and Hand by increasing any Monster's level on the field by 1.

Tearlaments Scheiren

Tearlaments Scheiren is included as one copy mainly to have another option of sending cards to the Graveyard through her effect

Gozuki Mezuki Jack-o-Bolan

Gozuki and Mezuki are mainstays of all Zombie World Decks for their ability to utilize the Graveyard well. Mezuki's effect is also not once per turn.

Jack-o-Bolan is another means of sending a Zombie Monster from your Hand to the Graveyard. Also, since it is a Level 7 Monster, it can use Level 3 Tuners to Special Summon Baronne De Fleur or Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord.

Doomking Balerdroch

Doomking Balerdroch, on its own, is a lackluster card since he can only activate its effects on Zombies. However, if Zombie World is active, Doomking Balerdroch is a force to be reckoned with as he can always Special Summon himself from the Graveyard every Standby Phase.

Furthermore, since all of the Monsters in both the Field and Graveyard are Zombies, he can Negate or Banish any Monster active in those Zones once per chain.

Archlord Kristya

Archlord Kristya by any conventional means, cannot be Summoned on the enemy's turn for his Special Summon floodgate. However, through Zombie World, he can easily be Special Summoned by Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord and stop opponents from Special Summoning.

Glow-Up Bloom Ghost Sleeper, the Underworld Princess Mad Mauler Necroworld Banshee

As a Deck centered around the Graveyard, these 4 Monsters are commonly what you will send to the Graveyard to activate their effects. Each serves a different role to fulfill when sent to the Graveyard.

Glow-up Bloom, when sent to the Graveyard, can be Banished to add a Level 1 Zombie from your Deck to Hand. If Zombie World is active, you can opt to Special Summon it instead. If you resolve this effect, you are limited to only Special Summoning Zombies for the rest of the turn.

Ghost Sleeper, the Underworld Princess when sent to the Graveyard, enables your fusion plays without Super Polymerization by searching Ghost Fusion from your Deck.

Mad Mauler is a Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the Graveyard by lowering a Level 6 or higher Monster's Level by 2, which opens up Synchro plays. However, keep in mind that you are locked out from Special Summoning other types except Zombies.

Necroworld Banshee, when sent to the Graveyard, searches out the main win condition of the Deck, Zombie World. Oftentimes, this would be your first send to the Graveyard.

Alghoul Mazera Changshi the Spiridao

Since Chaos Ruler can be played in Master Duel, its secondary effect to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard needs Banish materials.

Alghoul Mazera has a niche role, wherein It it is banished, it can Special Summon itself and reduce its level by 1, acting as an extender. if a Monster on your side of the Field is to be Destroyed, you can instead send this card from the Hand or Graveyard to the Banish Zone.

Changshi the Spiridao is a combo extender and a means of getting a Card to the Graveyard. If Banished, Special Summon itself by Banishing a Zombie from the Graveyard. During the Main Phase, you can also send a Zombie from your Deck or Hand to the Graveyard.

Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai

The P.U.N.K. Engine is included in this Deck as they can send Cards from Hand to the Graveyard to Summon themselves. Also, they can reliably extend the Deck's Combos by Synchro Summoning Chaos Ruler.

As an alternative, Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai is included here as an alternative if you get interrupted, as his effect lets you Fusion Summon Rising Carp using materials from your Hand or Field if you pay 600 Life Points.

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is a staple handtrap that stops opponents from searching their Main Deck. Maxx-C is not included as a handtrap since the Deck is consistent enough and requires Cards from the Main Deck to function.

Spells

Zombie World

Zombie World, as the name suggests, is the Card this whole Deck is centered around. When it is active on the Field, all Monsters on the Field and Graveyard are turned into Zombies. While it is a simple effect, this Field Spell has numerous implications such as:

  1. Type-based Decks are essentially neutered.
  2. The opponent is vulnerable to your Zombie-based Effects and Summons
  3. Being able to Special Summon Monsters that are not even considered Zombies in the first place from the Graveyard.
Ghost Fusion Super Polymerization

Ghost Fusion is another means of extending combos, naturally leading into Beatrice by using Zombies as materials to Fusion Summon either Nethersoul Dragon or Garura. It is searched by Ghost Princes and is made accessible by the P.U.N.K. engine as they reduce your Lifepoints.

Super Polymerization is an uninterruptible interruption, and it is especially useful with this Deck. If Zombie World is active, you can essentially use all of your opponent's Monsters as your Fusion materials.

Emergency Teleport Foolish Burial

Emergency Teleport is a way to consistently access the P.U.N.K. Engine by Summoning Ze Amin.

Foolish Burial is included as another way to send a Monster from the Deck to the Graveyard.

Triple Tactics Thrust Triple Tactics Talent

The Triple Tactics Set is included here since as a Combo Deck, you are bound to be interrupted during your turn. If you are interrupted, you can use Triple Tactics Thrust to search for Triple Tactics Talent to resolve either of the 3 effects:

  • Draw 2 Cards
  • Take control of 1 of your opponent's Monsters until the End Phase
  • Look at your opponent's Hand, and choose 1 Card from it to Shuffle into the Deck

Most of the time, you will be getting control of the opponent's Monster to use as one of your materials since they would be Zombies when Zombie World is active. Otherwise, draw 2 Cards instead.

Called by the Grave

Called by the Grave acts as a standard handtrap for countering other handtraps such as Maxx-C and Ash Blossom. Especially since this is a combo deck, you would need this Card to safely combo.

Traps

Evenly Matched
Having to go second with Prediction Princess is not ideal as you need to set up. Evenly Matched is included to cover that weakness as the card can clear the field safely and effectively, but it only has one copy for consistency.

Extra Deck Monsters

While Zombie World P.U.N.K. mainly focuses on Zombie Synchro Summons, the Deck utilizes a mix of Fusion, Link, and XYZ Summons based around Graveyard manipulation to round out their Gameplay.

Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Mudragon of the Swamp

These 3 Extra Deck inclusions are either Summoned through Super Polymerization or Ghost Fusion.

Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon is a niche pick but can be used when attacking is inevitable since he cannot be destroyed by Battle. Instead, he takes the ATK stats of the monster that was involved in the battle.

Garura, Wings of Resonant Life is mainly accessed through Ghost Fusion and is used as XYZ Material for Beatrice. This card nets you a card advantage if you use it as Material since you can draw a card if it is sent to the Graveyard.

Mudragon of the Swamp is the easiest to access through Super Polymerization as you do not need a Zombie as materials. Oftentimes, Mudragon is used to remove an invulnerable Monster or a floodgate .

Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Rising Carp

Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Rising Carp serves as an alternate extender as it lets you access Chaos Ruler or Felgrand by using its Effect. Its effect is being able to Tribute itself to Special Summon both Ze Amin and Deer Note from the Deck or Hand.

Vampire Sucker Vampire Fascinator Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi

These Link Summons lead to an extra form of Graveyard interruption through Yuki-onna, The Absolute Zero Mayakashi, who can negate a Monster's effect and reduce its ATK to 0 when a Monster is summoned from the Graveyard. She also negates all Banished Monsters.

To access her, start with Vampire Sucker which can net you card advantage if a Zombie is Special Summoned from either Graveyard.

After that, Special Summon Vampire Fascinator which lets you Special Summon any monster from your opponent's Graveyard, and use that Monster as Link material for Yuki-onna. Starting now, you are limited to only Special Summoning Zombies for the rest of the turn.

The Zombie Vampire Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal

For the XYZ Summons, these 2 Cards are mainly used to send even more Cards to your Graveyard.

The Zombie Vampire, after detaching 1 material, lets you send 4 cards from both players' Main Decks. Afterward, if there are any Monsters sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 of these Monsters to your field.

Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal, for this Deck, lets you send any Card from your Main Deck to the Graveyard after detaching 1 material. Most of the time, the card you will send will depend on the Card you need.

Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon

For the Synchro Summons, these are what the Deck commonly brings out.

Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord is often present in this Decks' end boards simply because it can bring out Archlord Kristya from the Graveyard if Zombie World is active, essentially locking the opponent from Special Summons.

While Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend is a downgrade from Chaos Ruler with the latter being banned, it still provides some advantage by dealing with Special Summoned monsters the opponent may have.

Skeletal Dragon Felgrand Immortal Dragon

Skeletal Dragon Felgrand acts as another Called by the Grave, being able to choose whether to Banish a card from the opponent's Graveyard or Field. This especially becomes potent if Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord is active on the Board, becoming an on-demand Banish.

Immortal Dragon is used as an extender for combos as he can send a card from the Deck to the Graveyard to adjust his level. If not used as a Tuner for a Synchro Summon, he can serve as XYZ Material for Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal.

Psychic End Punisher Baronne de Fleur

These are the situational Synchro Summons as you will rarely be able to Special Summon them. However, they each have niches they can cover.

Psychic End Punisher is mostly Summoned if you are aiming to finish the Opponent. This card grows in strength the further your Lifepoints wither, making for a reliable Finisher for battles of attrition as you can Banish an opponent's card on the field by sacrificing Lifepoints.

Baronne De Fleur is an alternative Boss Monster to end on if you face multiple interruptions. She has an Omni-negate and can easily be brought out by Uni-Zombie acting as the Tuner after increasing in level and one Level 6 Monster.

Core Combos and Interactions

Since this Deck's End Board is dependent on the Graveyard, these are the optimal combos to fill up your Graveyard. After ending with The Zombie Vampire, the result is never the same, so be creative and adjust based on the match-up!

Boss Monsters

Doomking Balerdroch
Doomking Balerdroch Doomking Balerdroch serves as the main Boss Monster as he makes Zombie World even more potent. When Zombie World is active, not only does Doomking Balerdroch return itself to the Field every Standby Phase, but its omni-negate and Banish effects apply to the opponent's Cards as well.
Archlord Kristya
Archlord Kristya Since Zombie World makes every Monster on the Field and Graveyard a Zombie, Archlord Kristya can easily be accessed through Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord. When he is on the Field, neither player can Special Summon, effectively leaving your opponent unable to play.
Psychic End Punisher
Psychic End Punisher Psychic End Punisher is utilized as a finisher in this deck as it gets stronger as your LP gets lower which naturally occurs when you use the P.U.N.K.engine. Furthermore, it can Banish a card by sacrificing Lifepoints, further increasing its lethality.
Baronne De Fleur
Baronne de Fleur Since Zombie World, as a deck, can effectively manipulate Monster levels, Baronne De Fleur can be easily brought out. It has a consistent omni-negate and destroy effect, which justifies it as a strong pick for any Synchro Deck.
Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi
Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi is a situational Boss Monster that negates any activated effects of Opponent's banished monsters, effectively countering Banish-based Decks like Floowandereeze. She also has an effect that lets you negate a Monster's effect and reduce its ATK to 0 when a monster is summoned from the Graveyard.

Kashtira

Master Duel - Kashtira

Kashtira, as a Deck, focuses on Zone-locking and Banishing the opponent's cards. Since Zombie World relies heavily on both the Graveyard and a wide board for Special Summons, Kashtira has the upper hand during the Duel.

Kashtira Deck Guide

Floowandereeze

Master Duel - Floowandereeze

While Zombie World can counter Floowandereeze through their Field Spell, Floowandereeze has an emphasis on Banishing and can lock both Special Summons and the Graveyard. In this match-up, whoever goes first will most likely win.

Dogmatika Bystials

Master Duel - Dogmatika Bystial

Dogmatika Bystial is designed to heavily limit the Graveyard and Extra Deck, making it a natural counter for this Deck. Zombie World Decks abuse the Graveyard and rely on powerful Extra Deck Monsters, so having those unaccessible cripples the Deck by a mile.

Nibiru, the Primal Being
Nibiru, the Primal Being Nibiru, the Primal Being becomes active when you Special Summon 5 or more times, to which it can Tribute the whole board for its Summon. However, keep in mind that you will have to deal with a token that has the total amount of Power of all cards Tributed for its Summon.
Dark Ruler No More
Dark Ruler No More Since this Deck focuses on setting up an end-board filled with strong Effect Monsters, Dark Ruler No More effectively shuts it down by negating all of your face-up monsters until the end of the turn. Furthermore, you cannot activate Monster Effects in response.
