Monsters that prefer to be sent to the GY, as they can Special Summon themselves from there if certain Spell Cards are active Has some of the most flexible playstyles, and can use a wide variety of Deck Engines Makes use of flexibility to run some wide number of underutilized floodgates through monster effects
|
The Tearlaments are known for effects of milling their own Deck to send cards to the Graveyard. Most of the monsters here trigger effects when sent to the GY, which includes more card milling, Special Sumons, or even Fusion Summons.
Key cards include Tearlaments Reinoheart as a combo starter to send a "Tearlaments" monsters to the GY, Havnis as a punisher against monster effects, and Scream for decreasing opponent's monsters' ATK.
The Horus Deck Engine enjoys having their monster cards be sent to the Graveyard, as long as they have at one copy of a Spell Card named King's Sarcophagus active on the field, whether it be the actual Continuous Spell or the Field Spell that can take on its name, Walls of the Imperial Tomb.
Hapi is the main monster to be sent to the GY for the Special Summon. Duamutef and Qebehsenuef are additional monsters you can adjust to your taste, while the titular Horus the Black Flame Deity acts as a pseudo-Nibiru punish.
Classic support cards come into play which can work for both standalone versions of the archetypes. Maxx "C", Ash Blossom, Crossout Designator and Called by the Grave are borderline mandatory for every Deck in the meta due to their power basically centered around these four cards.
King of the Swamp serves as Fusion Material substitutes whenever a "Tearlaments" monster conducts a Fusion Summon, while the Bystials banishes DARK monsters to summon thesmelves, and Kashtira Fenrir is a punish for monster effect activation.
Super Polymerization only works if the opponent runs monsters on the field that can be used as materials for Mudragon or Garura.
Aside from the usual "Tearlament" Fusion monsters, there are other possible boss monsters for the Deck. Cards include Guardian Chimera, Grapha, Dragon Overlord of Dark World and Predaplant Dragostapelia are usual sightings in Tearlaments Decks, especially if they can make use of King of the Swamp.
Chaos Angel can make use of DARK Monsters as Tuners, so no need to tech actual Tuners into the Main Deck
For Xyz Monsters, Time Thief Redoer into Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder is a classic combo. For Link Monsters, I:P Masquerena and the newer S:P Little Knight are a dangerous combo that can banish cards.

A special addition for this version are Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal, which is mainly going to be summoned if you get to have both Bystial Monsters on the field, and The Zombie Vampire now that there are easily-summonable Level 8 monsters with the Horus engine that has more milling power.
Work in Progress - Information Available Soon |
---|
Imsety, Glory of Horus | |
---|---|
Imsety, Glory of Horus can Special Summon itself from the GY so long as King's Sarcophagus is active on the field. It can also draw a card by sending two from your hand to the GY--which is what most of the Horus monsters would prefer. Lastly, it gets to send a card on the field to the GY is this card gets sent there itself via opponent's card effect. | |
Horus the Black Flame Deity | |
Horus the Black Flame Deity is the titular monster of the archetype, but at 1 copy is more of a last resort. If another "Horus" monster gets sent from the field to the GY, this card can Special Summon itself from the hand, and send all other cards from the field to the GY. It can also send another card from the field to the GY just by revealing itself from the hand. | |
The Zombie Vampire | |
With a load of Level 8 monsters from the Main Deck, summoning The Zombie Vampire is prety easy. Its mill effect affects both players, and if there is a strong monster that was sent to the GY through this effect, this card can Special Summon it to its side of the field. | |
Number 100: Numeron Dragon | |
Number 100: Numeron Dragon is usually combo'd in with the help of Number 97: Draglubion, and for good reason. This Xyz Monster gets stronger for every Xyz Monster on the field, as its ATK is based on the total number of Ranks from all Xyz Monsters on the field on summon. With that high of an ATK, this card is often used for OTK pushes. | |
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World | |
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World negates all cards on the field for a turn when Link Summoned, and it can use one monster the opponent controls as material. Combine this with I:P Masquerena's effect, and this card can do some serious interruption when Link Summoned during the opponent's turn. | |
Any "Kaiju" monster | |
Most of the monsters in the "Kaiju" archetype are Level 8 monsters, allowing some special synergies to go for Rank 8 Xyz Monster plays. It also helps that they have the special ability of tributing monsters from the opponent's field to Specail Summon themselves if you control no "Kaiju" monsters. |
Floowandereeze is one of the best Decks to go up against Special Summon-heavy Decks, using its various Normal Summons to set up floodgates and interruptions. This continues to hold true against Horus
Decks, even with hits to Empen now Limited.
Now, it makes use of Snowl as a secondary boss monster, and this Deck gets more aggressive by providing up to three Noraml Summons for free.

Chimera Illusion specializes in continuously Fusion Summoning monsters that are extremely powerful when launching attacks during the Battle Phase, or when being summoned via Fusion.
With Chimera Fusion being a Quick-Play Spell, the monsters being used as materials can evade targeted card effects, and boss monsters like Chimera the Illusion Beast and Guardian Chimera provide immediate advantage on Fusion Summon.

Ghoti's monsters encourage being banished, as they end up being Special Summoned the very next turn, and then are capable of conducting Synchro Summons as a Quick Effect, which includes doing so during the opponent's turn.
Because of their preference of being banished, they have their cards that forces cards to be banished, like Dimension Shifter and Macro Cosmos, which would then fulfill conditions to make Ghoti of the Deep Beyond stronger.
Kashtira, despite numerous hits like Kashtira Fenrir now limited and Kashtira Birth being marked as Semi-Limited, are still pretty strong by using more of their underutilizied cards to make up for free space.
As a pure Deck, this card aims to get Kashtira Arise-Heart to force all cards to be banished instead of being sent to the GY. As a Deck Engine, it uses Special Summons at the start of a turn to have monsters on the field that punishes the opponent for responding with their own effects.
Kashtira Deck List & Card Guide
The Exosisters banish cards as punishment for attempting to move cards out of the GY, regardless of reason. When the opponent does, the Main Deck Monsters can Xyz Summon using only themselves as material; if there are a number of them on the field, that means multiple boss monsters hitting the field all at once.
The banish effect also includes cards in the GY too, so if there are any "Horus" monsters in there, they become prime targets to be banished as well.

Anti-Spell Fragrance | |
---|---|
Anti-Spell Fragrance can stop the activation of the Deck's crucial Spell Cards like King's Sarcophagus or Walls of the Imperial Tomb, even for just a turn by forcing them to be Set first. | |
Necrovalley | |
Most of the "Horus" monsters can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, so it is encouraged to keep sending cards there. Players going up against "Horus" Decks can tech in Necrovalley by locking cards in the GY to prevent them from going anywhere else--including monsters from there being Special Summoned back onto the field | |
Dimension Shifter | |
Decks that use banishment as part of their strategy will have a field day going up against "Horus" Decks. A timely use of Dimension Shifter's effects, or its fellow card-banishing allies Dimensional Fissure and Macro Cosmos, and the Horus cards will be usuable as banished cards for the rest of the Duel. |
