Rescue-ACE Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Conditions

Attention! This portion is in line for a revamp due to the Deck Recipe having been tweaked; stay tuned until then!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - Rescue-ACE Playstyle

The Rescue-ACE Deck, with its debut in the Flame of Fury Selection Pack, is still missing some key cards available in the Trading Card Game (TCG) for it to be considered a top-tier deck.

However, the archetype is still a strong contender for being one of the best Control Decks in the current meta with its consistency and ability to generate massive value with their Spells and Traps.

Main Deck

Monsters

Rescue-ACE Hydrant Rescue-ACE Turbulence

The Rescue-ACE sports 7 Main Deck monsters to support its control game plan. More specifically, both Rescue-ACE Turbulence and Hydrant are the main enablers for this deck's win condition while the other 5 act as extenders or support.

The main win condition is setting up your back row with Rescue-ACE Turbulence's effect to interrupt your opponent's plays. Rescue-ACE Hydrant searches for any Rescue-ACE monster and enhances the effects of the archetype's Spells and Traps.

Rescue-ACE Air Lifter Rescue-ACE Monitor

Rescue-ACE Air Lifter and Rescue-ACE Monitor act as searchers for the Deck. The former has the effect of searching for the archetype's spells while the latter has the effect of searching the archetype's Traps.

Air-Lifter is another staple card as he is used with most of Rescue-ACE's combos as he is able to search for both Rescue-ACE HQ and ALERT!

Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker Rescue-ACE Fire Engine Rescue-ACE Impulse

Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker and Rescue-ACE Fire Engine share the same conditions to activate their main effect: If a Rescue-ACE card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can special summon this card. The first effects of these cards serve as extenders for accessing Link Summons and enabling Rescue-ACE Turbulence!

Rescue-ACE Impulse main effect acts as another form of interruption as this card can negate the effect of your opponent's highest ATK card for the whole turn.

Support Cards Secondary Effects
Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker Condition: If a card(s) is added to your opponent's hand, except by drawing it
Effect: You can draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card.
Rescue-ACE Fire Engine Condition: If a monster(s) is Special Summoned to your opponent's field
Effect:Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Rescue-ACE" monster from your hand, Deck, or GY.
Rescue-ACE Impulse Condition: When your opponent activates a monster effect on the field (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up field
Effect: Special Summon 1 Machine "Rescue-ACE" monster from your Deck.

They also have a secondary effect that activates when an opponent interacts with the board. These effects are great for follow-up plays after your turn.

Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion Jet Synchron

Jet Synchron and Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion is mainly included here as the enabler for Synchro plays. Since Rescue-ACE is built up of mostly Machine types, the Synchro combo with Auroradon flows smoothly.

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring Maxx "C" Kurikara Divincarnate

As per usual, Maxx-C and Ash Blossom are staple hand traps as they limit your opponent's actions. Kurikara Divicarnate is an additional handtrap to cover for the deck's weakness of going second as this card can answer negate-heavy boards centered around effect monsters and use them against the opponent.

Spell Cards

The main strength of Rescue-ACE is that while you are interrupting your opponent, the deck naturally shuffles back your cards from the Graveyard/Banish Zone. This allows the player to set all their interruptions up again in proceeding turns until your opponent either loses all their life points or cards.

Rescue-ACE HQ

This gameplan of Rescue-ACE revolves around their Field Spell, Rescue-ACE HQ. Rescue-ACE's Field Spell enables most of the Deck's combos and recycles the Graveyard/Banish Zone. Rescue-ACE Air Lifter is mostly used to search for this spell, which makes the Monster Card indispensable.

RESCUE! ALERT!

RESCUE! and ALERT serve as the archetype's main Spell line and can only be used if there is a Rescue-ACE Monster on your side of the field.

These Spell Cards can be set by Rescue-ACE Turbulence's effect which makes them easily accessible. There are also additional effects you can opt to use when Rescue-ACE Hydrant is present on the Field; often these effects are stronger.

Card Effects
RESCUE! Without Hydrant: Target 1 "Rescue-ACE" monster in your GY; Special Summon it to your field.
With Hydrant: Target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; Special Summon it to your field.

First tackling RESCUE!, the first effect acts as a recycler since the spell lets you summon a body from your Graveyard. Mostly, this effect will be used for Rescue-ACE hydrant or Turbulence, which either enables additional effects or resets your Spells and Traps.

For the additional effect with Hydrant, RESCUE! acts as a form of interruption. When your opponent interacts with a Monster from their Graveyard, you can use RESCUE! like Called by the Grave by snatching their targeted Monster and adding them to your field.

Card Effects
ALERT! Without Hydrant: Add 1 "Rescue-ACE" monster from your GY to your hand.
With Hydrant: Add 1 "Rescue-ACE" monster from your Deck to your hand instead.

For ALERT!, the initial effect also serves as a recycler by sending a Rescue-ACE Monster from your Graveyard back to your hand. This time, this effect will be used on Rescue-ACE Impulse due to their strong quick effect of Special Summoning a Rescue-ACE monster from your Deck.

With Hydrant, ALERT! now acts as a primary searcher of the deck, being able to search any Rescue-ACE Monster from the deck. When you have access to this effect, your combos can be extended by simply searching for Rescue-ACE Fire Engine and Fire Attacker.

One for One Piri Reis Map

Since Rescue-ACE Hydrant is integral to the deck's combos and gameplan, Piri Reis Map and One for One are included in the deck to effectively search for it, boosting consistency and the likelihood of strong boards.

Reinforcement of the Army Pot of Prosperity

Simply put, Reinforcement of the Army and Pot of Prosperity are Deck thinners. Reinforcement of the Army mainly searches for either Rescue-ACE Impulse or Air Lifter.

For Pot of Prosperity, assess your hand and decide whether or not to use Link or Synchro Summons to guide what Extra Deck Cards you should banish.

Called by the Grave

Called by the Grave acts as a standard handtrap for countering other handtraps such as Maxx-C and Ash Blossom. Also, it is great to have on the back row to counter Graveyard-intensive decks.

Traps

EXTINGUISH! CONTAIN!

EXTINGUISH! and CONTAIN! act as the archetype's main Traps. REINFORCE! is also a Rescue-ACE Trap, however, its niche nature warranted its replacement for other strong trap cards.

Like the Spells of Rescue-ACE, they are only available for use if there are Rescue-ACE Monsters on your side of the field, accessed mainly through Rescue-ACE Turbulence, and there are additional effects when Rescue-ACE Hydrant is present on the Field.

Card Effects
EXTINGUISH! Without Hydrant: Target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; destroy it.
With Hydrant: Your opponent cannot activate the effects of that destroyed monster, or of monsters with its same original name, this turn.

EXTINGUISH!'s first effect simply destroys an effect monster, effectively interrupting possible Onboard effects and Link Summons.

With Rescue-ACE Hydrant on board, the Effect Monster destroyed cannot activate its effects both on Summon and inside the Graveyard.

Card Effects
CONTAIN! Without Hydrant: Target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; this turn, that Effect Monster cannot attack, also its effects are negated.
With Hydrant: At the resolution of this effect, that monster also cannot be used as material for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon this turn.

CONTAIN! is Rescue-ACE's basic monster negate. Even without Rescue-ACE Hydrant, the affected monster's effects are negated during the turn this trap was activated.

However, when Hydrant is on the field, the affected Monster cannot be used as material for any special summons during the turn; effectively shutting off possible plays from the opponent except for Tribute summons.

Extra Deck Monsters

Rescue-ACE has no extra deck monsters unique to the archetype. To make up for the lack of exclusive Extra Deck Monsters, the deck utilizes an Extra Deck filled with a mixture of strong Link and Synchro-summon-based cards.

Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames

Sunlight Wolf opens up this Link package by acting as the material for the new card "Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames". This new card acts as an extender if you have the bare minimum to start a combo.

Also, after being linked off, you can activate her effect inside the Graveyard. She can disrupt the opponent's plays by destroying a FIRE-type Monster you control and an opponent's card if they special summon during their turn. Afterwards, she summons herself back from the Graveyard.

Optimally, Promethean Princess should destroy Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale as its effect states that after it is destroyed, special summon a Link 3 or lower Monster from the Graveyard. This effect lets you cycle Sunlight Wolf, repeating the combo.

Along with that effect, Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale can banish itself from the Graveyard if a Link-3 or lower monster gets destroyed to pop an opponent's card.

Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon Accel Synchron F.A. Dawn Dragster Herald of the Arc Light

Barricadeborg Blocker, on the other hand, opens up this Synchro package by enabling Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon.

After Summoning Auroradon, Accel Synchron lets you have access to 2 negates through F.A. Dawn Dragster and Herald of the Arc Light along with 4 back-row set with Rescue-ACE Turbulence.

Underworld Goddess of the Closed World Accesscode Talker

These are the situational Link monsters for this rendition of a Rescue-ACE Deck when going second.

Underworld Goddess of the Closed World can use one of the opponent's played Monsters as material and negate Special Summons once per turn. Since Rescue-ACE can summon several bodies, this card can be reliably summoned.

Accesscode Talker is mainly used as a finisher for when the opponent has a weak board and you have access to Link fodder. This monster gains increased attack, the ability to pop enemy cards, and all this while the opponent cannot respond.

Baronne de Fleur Borreload Savage Dragon

Since this deck has a consistent entry to Synchro Summoning, including these two strong Synchro Monsters is recommended to lock out opponents from playing.

Baronne de Fleur has an omni-negate, once-per-turn card destruction, and the ability to Summon a monster from the GY.

Borreload Savage Dragon also has an omni negate but lacks the other abilities of Baronne de Fleur. To make up for this, it has a higher attack and is easier to access in this deck.

Linkuriboh I:P Masquerena Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze

When the opponent has a plethora of interruptions during your turn, these are Link summons that can give you a chance to play through.

Linkuriboh is mainly used for situations to send Rescue-ACE Hydrant to the Graveyard if you are missing one Rescue-ACE card to banish for Rescue-ACE Turbulence.

I:P Masquerena is utilized for moments where you cannot special summon either Sunlight Wolf or Barricadeborg Blocker.

Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze can be considered the most situational card here in the Extra Deck. If you have no more plays, she is used for Synchro Summon extensions by taking the opponent's Ash Blossom from their Graveyard to open up your Accel Synchron.

Core Combos and Interactions

Attention! This portion is in line for a revamp due to the Deck Recipe having been tweaked; stay tuned until then!

Basic Combo into Turbulence

Card(s) Needed
Rescue-ACE Hydrant Rescue-ACE Air Lifter
Step Description
1 Normal Summon Rescue-ACE Air Lifter then activate their effect to search Rescue-ACE HQ.
2 Activate Rescue-ACE HQ so you can Normal Summon one more time.
3 Normal Summon Rescue-ACE Hydrant then activate its effect to search for Rescue-ACE Turbulence
4 Link Summon either Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf or Barricadeborg Blocker using Rescue-ACE Hydrant and Air Lifter.
5 Special Summon Rescue-ACE Turbulence by Banishing Rescue-ACE Hydrant and Air Lifter from the Graveyard.
6 Activate Rescue-ACE Turbulence's effect to set 4 back-row cards.

Link Combo NEW

Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, as the newest support for FIRE-type based decks in Master Duel, provides a new combo path for Rescue-ACE. This combo strings from the basic combo earlier and ends with a strong back-row and another form of interruption.

Card(s) Needed on the Field
Rescue-ACE Turbulence Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf
Step Description
1 Using Rescue-ACE Turbulence and Salamangreat as material, Link Summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames.
2 Activate Promethean Princess effect to Special Summon Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf from the Graveyard.
3 Link Summon Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale using Promethean Princess and Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf as material.
4 After ending your turn and during the opponent's Draw or Standby Phase, activate RESCUE! to Special Summon Rescue-ACE Turbulence from the Graveyard.
5 If the opponent Special Summons during their turn, activate Promethean Princess' effect from the Graveyard to destroy Amblowhale and an opponent's card.

Synchro Combo

Rescue-ACE utilizes the Mecha Phantom Beast Synchro Engine to full effect as most of its archetype's monsters are Machines. Again, this combo can string from the basic combo and has numerous options for omni-negates, but it has the caveat of being more reliant on a better hand.

Card(s) Needed on the Field
Rescue-ACE Turbulence Barricadeborg Blocker
Step Description
1 Link Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon using Rescue-ACE Turbulence and Barricadeborg Blocker.
2 Activate Auroradon's effect to Summon 3 Tokens.
3 Use Auroradon's effect to Tribute 2 Monsters to Special Summon 1 Mecha Phantom Beast Monster from your Deck.
4 Special Summon Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion from the Deck.
5 Special Summon Accel Synchron from the Deck using O-Lion and a token. Activate O-Lion's effect to add another Token on the field.
6 Use Accel Synchron's effect to send Jet Synchron to the Graveyard and decrease his Level by 1.
7 Special Summon Jet Synchron from the Graveyard by sending a card from your hand to the Graveyard.
8 Special Summon Herald of the Arclight using Jet Synchron and a Token as material.
8 Special Summon F.A. Dawn Dragster using Accel Synchron and a Token as material.

Boss Monsters

Rescue-ACE Turbulence
Rescue-ACE Turbulence Rescue-ACE Turbulence is the key monster in the entire Main Deck, and for good reason. Being able to set up to 4 "Rescue-ACE" Quick-Play Spells and/or Normal Traps in just one effect immediately provides so much card advantage, especially if you manage to go first. That means your opponent has to wade through numerous amounts of interrupts.
Kurikara Divincarnate
Kurikara Divincarnate This is more of a counter for specific Decks that rely on having numerous boss monsters by the end of their turn; Kurikara Divincarnate punishes the opponents who do not have any outs against having their monsters being tributed to summon this monster. For each monster tributed, this monster gets stronger when summoned.
Baronne de Fleur
Baronne de Fleur The most popular Synchro Monster with generic materials, Baronne de Fleur is a must-have if a Deck can run Synchro Monsters. Its omni-negate and card destruction effects are extremely handy, and can turn the tide of the Duel in your favor.
Accesscode Talker
Accesscode Talker If a Deck can Link Climb, it can most likely run Accesscode Talker. If Accesscode Talker uses a LINK-3 monster as material, its ATK skyrockets to 5300, and it can destroy cards on the field based on the Link Monsters with different attributes it banishes. Furthermore, the opponent cannot respond to the activation of this effect. This card is most often used as a game-ender.
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World Underworld Goddess of the Closed World is summoned as a way to declutter your Monster Zones, while at the same time getting rid of one of your opponent's monsters. This is because it can potentially use a monster the opponent controls as part of its summoning materials. This card's other effect specifically counters effects that Special Summons as Underworld Goddess of the Closed World negates them as a Quick Effect.

Rescue-ACE Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Rescue-ACE

Mikanko

Master Duel - Mikanko Ritual

Because of Mikanko's ability to reflect Battle Damage along with its affinity for Equip Spells providing blanket immunity, it can be hard to take on a Mikanko player. What makes the match-up harder is their choices of monsters that tribute your own, which makes sure that they have a target for attacks at all times.

Mikanko Deck List and Card Guide

Labrynth

Master Duel - Labrynth

While Rescue-ACE players can immediately set 4 cards in a single combo involving Turbulence, Labrynth Decks are still the kings of counter play and are still the best Trap-based Decks in the entire game. Once Labyrth Decks have their key cards on the field, its Trap Card recursion is enabled, which is almost impossible to play around.

Labrynth Deck List and Card Guide

Floowandereeze

Master Duel - Floowandereeze

No other Deck utilizes the same strategies that Floowandereeze can, resulting in the deck's control against Special Summoned monsters being unmatched. Even just one Normal Summon is enough to completely punish any player, and Rescue-ACE is not an exemption.

Floowandereeze Deck List and Card Guide

Dragon Link

Master Duel - Dragon Link

Arguably the top combo Deck in the game, Dragon Link can be hard to interrupt once it begins its combo. Players usually invest multiple negates and interrupts to really stop a Dragon Link Deck, otherwise they can end up having one or more boss monsters on the Field once they are finished.

Dragon Link Deck List and Card Guide

Kashtira

Master Duel - Kashtira

With Kashtira receiving its powerful support cards, and a brand-new playstyle with the addition of Kashtira Arise-Heart, its zone-locking playstyle can be very annoying to deal with as a Rescue-ACE player.

Kashtira Deck List and Card Guide

Best Cards to Tech Against Rescue-ACE

Evenly Matched
Evenly Matched Evenly Matched is one of the best Field-clearing cards in the entire game. This is especially the case if the player that uses this card goes second and they have no cards on the board. This is going to especially hurt more after the opponent Rescue-ACE player manages to use the effect of Rescue-ACE Turbulence.
Skill Drain
Skill Drain So long as Skill Drain is face-up and active on the field, all monster effects are negated. This effectively cripples the entire Rescue-ACE Deck, especially if it tries to summon and use the effect of Rescue-Ace Turbulence.
Harpie's Feather Duster
Harpie Clearing out the entire backrow is essential to deal with Rescue-ACE, especially once it has its key Spells and Traps set down with the help of its monsters. Harpie's Feather Duster is crucial in crippling the Deck's controlling strategy.
Kashtira Shangri-Ira
Kashtira Shangri-Ira If there is a boss monster this Deck hates more than anything, it is Kashtira Shangri-Ira. A veteran Kashtira player can use Kashtira Shangri-Ira's effect to immediately lock down the entire backrow once they realize they are up against a Rescue-ACE Deck. Do not let this monster activate its effect and restrict your Spell/Trap Zones.
