Synchro Summon involves using Tuner and Non-Tuner Monsters to summon Synchro Monsters from the Extra Deck. Read on to learn more on how to use Synchro Summons and the restrictions when using this Special Summon method in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.
List of Contents

To start summoning Synchro Monsters, you'll need to place one Tuner card and at least one non-Tuner card in the Monster Zones. These will be used as Synchro Materials to summon a Synchro Monster.
To determine if a monster is a Tuner Monster, their type should include Tuner at the card's text.
Some specific monsters have text in their effects specifically stating they can be used as Synchro Material from the hand.
Make sure to take note of cards that specify in their effects that can be used as material while in the hand, or make use of cards from the hand along with itself.

To perform a Synchro Summon, make sure the Synchro Materials satisfy the requirements of a Synchro Monster. In addition, your Synchro Materials' combined levels must total the Synchro Monster's level for it to be summoned.
Once the requirements are met, perform a Synchro Summon by selecting the Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck.

After selecting your Synchro Monster, send the Synchro Materials to the Graveyard. This will finally summon your chosen monster. You can then place it in either a Main Monster Zone or an Extra Monster Zone.

You cannot use Monsters that do not have levels as Synchro Materials. This includes Xyz Monsters, which makes use of Ranks instead of Levels, and Link Monsters, which have Link Markers instead.
Also, since a Synchro Summon is considered a Special Summon, it can be negated by card effects that affect Special Summoned Monsters.
Make sure to pay close attention to the material requirements a Synchro Monster needs in order to be summoned by it. They are listed at the very first line of their card text.
The requirements may vary from card to card; from needing a Synchro Tuner Monster, to multiple Tuner Mosnters, or have non-Tuner monsters to act as a Tuner, or even requiring a specific monster as material.
