Trickstar Windwitch Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Trickstar Windwitch Decks probably won't win you any tournaments, but it's a fun Deck to play especially when you're feeling a tad big mischievous or playful.

Trickstar Windwitch Decks are basically Burn Decks that chain each other's Effects to deliver Burn Damage to your opponent in small increments.

Though the Burn damage isn't exactly the biggest, when you have your board filled with Trickstar Monsters and a Windwitch - Diamond Bell, your opponent will find himself constantly being dealt Burn Damage as well as having one of his cards on the field Destroyed every single turn.

Sample Combo

Required Cards
Windwitch - Ice Bell Trickstar Candina
Step Description
Activate Windwitch - Ice Bell's Effect from the Hand to Special Summon it onto the Field. → Windwitch - Ice Bell's Effect Triggers and Search for Windwitch - Glass Bell From the Deck and Special Summon it onto the Field.
Windwitch - Glass Bell & Windwitch - Ice Bell's Effect Chain Link as 1 & 2 respectively → Chain Link 2: Windwitch - Ice Bell's Effect Triggers to deliver 500 Burn Damage directly to your opponent → Chain Link 1: Windwitch - Glass Bell's Effect Triggers and Search for Windwitch - Snow Bell from the Deck and send it to the Hand**.
Activate Windwitch - Snow Bell's Effect from the Hand to Special Summon it onto the Field.
Synchro Summon Windwitch - Winter Bell using both the Windwitch - Ice Bell & Windwitch - Glass Bell on the Field. → Activate Windwitch - Winter Bell's Effect and target the Windwitch - Glass Bell in your GY and deliver 800 Burn Damage directly to your opponent.
Synchro Summon Windwitch - Diamond Bell using both the Windwitch - Winter Bell & Windwitch - Snow Bell on the Field. → Activate Windwitch - Diamond Bell's Effect and target the Windwitch - Winter Bell in your GY and deliver 1200 Burn Damage directly to your opponent.
Normal Summon Trickstar Candina onto the Field → Activate Trickstar Candina's Effect and search for Trickstar Light Stage from the Deck and send it to the Hand.
Set and Activate Trickstar Light Stage onto your Field Spell Zone and search for Trickstar Lycoris from the Deck and send it to the Hand.

With this board, you have 2 cards on the Field that deliver Burn Damage to your opponent in the form of both Trickstar Light Stage and Trickstar Candina.

Trickstar Candina inflicts 200 Burn Damage to your opponent whenever they activate a Spell or Trap Card after it resolves. Paired with Trickstar Light Stage, with its Effect where whenever a Trickstar Monster inflicts Battle or Effect damage to your opponent, your opponent is dealt another 200 Burn Damage.

Now, things get even more interesting with Windwitch - Diamond Bell on the Field. Where, whenever your opponent takes Effect Damage (a.k.a. Burn Damage) you have the option of destroying 1 card on the Field.

Now, you can follow this up on your next turn by revealing the Trickstar Lycoris in your hand, and targetting the Trickstar Candina on the Field. This will return Trickstar Candina to your Hand to Special Summon Trickstar Lycoris onto the Field. Then, Normal Summon Trickstar Candina once again to the Field to search for another Trickstar Card from the Deck. Search for another Trickstar Candina or Trickstar Lycoris, and use the 2 Trickstar Monsters on the Field to Link Summon Trickstar Holly Angel.

Now, Special Summon or Normal Summon Trickstar Monsters onto the Zones that Trickstar Holly Angel is pointing to and each time you do, delivers 200 Burn Damage to your Opponent.

By now, you probably understand where this is going.

But to quickly finish things off, you have the option of Link Summoning up to Knightmare Unicorn using Trickstar Holly Angel and another Trickstar Monster and eventually, Link Summoning into Accesscode Talker targetting the Knightmare Unicorn in your GY to become a 5300ATK Beast.

Best Cards to Tech Against Trickstar Windwitch

Contact "C"
Contact "C" Contact "C" pretty much locks your opponent's Trickstar Windwitch Deck by stopping them from Special Summoning from their Extra Deck, unless they use it as Material. This means they can't just bring out their Synchro Monsters to dish out even more damage.
PSY-Framegear Gamma
PSY-Framegear Gamma A hand trap that can be used to negate the effects of your opponent's Trickstar Windwitch Deck Monster's Effects, destroying them in the process.
Prohibition
Prohibition Using Prohibition and naming cards like Trickstar Light Stage and other similar cards will pretty much lock your opponent's Trickstar Windwitch Deck from being able to perform as it should. Just make sure to use it as soon as you know that your opponent is using a Trickstar Windwitch Deck before they can bring out any of these cards.
Effect Veiler
Effect Veiler Another hand trap like PSY-Framegear Gamma that can be used to negate Monster Effects.
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring This card can be quickly used to cancel specific effects that are at the core of Trickstar Windwitch Deck by discarding this card.

Limit Summons & Negate

This Trickstar Windwitch Deck relies on searches and chaining summons to use for Synchro Summons to create a strong board early in the game, and using them to deliver Burn Damage.

Using a combination of spells and traps to interrupt your opponent will quickly put the duel in your favor.

As a new player to yugioh I find your decks really helpful. Especially where you talk about the strategy of the deck whereas other websites just publish the decklist and that's all. I look forward to seeing more decks from you.
