Board Wipes are cards that clear the field in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Use these staples to see what makes them the best cards in the game!
Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder gives you the option to fully clear the board by sending all of the other cards on the field to the Graveyard. You simply need to detach two materials off of this card.
Evenly Matched is a control option for when you are behind the board. You can activate this card from your hand when you have don't control any cards. Resolving this card's effect will force your opponent to match the number of cards you have on the field.
Though Lightning Storm can only be activated if there are no other face-up cards controlled on the field, the ability to choose between destroying all Spells and Traps the opponent controls, or all Attack Positioned monsters they control makes it a very strong effect.
Destroying every monster the opponent controls on the field for free is always an advantage. Don't hesitate to bring a copy or two of Raigeki in your Deck if it is lacking any means of getting rid of monsters from their field.
While it may seem that destroying monsters on both sides of the field is a bad thing, there are some monsters that are becoming popular due to their effect of being summoned on the opponent's side of the field to debilitate them.
Dark Hole is a good way to get rid of them and the monsters on their own field, and the best part is that as of writing, the card is currently Unlimited.
Black Rose Dragon can be utilized by decks that have a lot of extenders as well as decks that can easily Summon Level 7 Synchro Monsters. It nukes the field upon Summon. Resetting the board at its wake.
Nibiru, the Primal Being counts as both a Hand Trap and a Board Wipe as you can activate its effect from hand. This card Tributes as many face-up cards as you can if your opponent Special Summons five or more monsters that turn.
However, make sure you have a way to deal with the Token left behind. This Token will have ATK/DEF equal to the combined original ATK/DEF of the tributed monsters.
Evilswarm Exciton Knight has a similar effect to Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder, but it Destroys instead of Sending cards to the Graveyard. Exciton Knight stood the test of time as it can still be seen in today's metagame as an alternative for Zeus.
The Topologic archetype is mostly composed of cards that love to wreak havoc on the field. Topologic Zeroboros banishes all the cards on the field when a Monster is Summoned to a zone that a Link Monster points to.
Zeroboros revives itself on the next Standby Phase, imposing another threat to the opponent if they are not careful on zone placements.
It is a challenge to meet the material requirements for Number 86: Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad, but getting to five or more mateirals lets it destroy every other card on the field once per turn.
Because of its other effects based on material count, it is also automatically unaffected by other card effects, making the board wipe near-unstoppable.
This is arguably one of the peskiest Fusion Monsters in the game. Along with a Quick Effect that banishes monsters, it punishes the opponent when it's destroyed by an opponent's card by destroying all the monsters they control on the field.
The effect is not once-per-turn either, so multiple copies of Mirrorjade, the Iceblade Dragon is commonplace for Branded-centric Decks.
Interrupted Kaiju Slumber destroys as many monsters on the field. Additionally, this Spell Card will summon two Kaiju
monsters from your Deck in attack position. This card can net you a massive tempo swing if used correctly.
Board Wipes are cards that can destroy numerous opposing cards when used or activated. Clearing an entire row is good enough to be considered a "Board Wipe&qout; regardless of what the name suggests.
These cards have a home in any deck due to the potential value and tempo it offers. Getting rid of all your opponent's Spells and Traps almost certainly guarantees you a victory in any duel.
