Core Combos

This Deck's endboard is not consistent as it relies on the Dogmatika cards stacking the Graveyard to setup an OTK through Obelisk on later rounds. There is no set combo for bringing out Obelisk, but this Deck enables the God's potential.

Deck Explanation

Monsters

Obelisk the Tormentor

Obelisk the Tormentor, one of the God Cards, is this Deck's centerpiece as it enables the board-wiping potential this Deck possesses. Obelisk, when Normal Summoned, prevents cards and effects from being activated.

Furthermore, Obelisk can Tribute 2 monsters to destroy all monsters your opponent controls at the cost of not being able to attack.

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted

A small part of the Dogmatika Engine is included to increase lethality. More specifically, two of the Effect monsters and 1 Ritual monster.

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous is one of the Deck's main searcher. Ecclesia mainly searches for either Dogmatika Alba Zoa or Dogmatikalamity depending on the situation. Furthermore, she has battle immunity against any monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck.

Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted, for this Deck, is included to strengthen the first turn with a possible interruption.

Fleurdelis can Special Summon itself when a monster was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck as a Quick Effect, then negate a monster's effect on the field if you control another "Dogmatika" monster.

Dogmatika Alba Zoa

Dogmatika Alba Zoa, if active on the field, make "Dogmatika" monsters you control and itself unaffected by any activated effects of an opponent's Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link monster.

Furthermore, Alba Zoa fills in a variety of roles for this Deck, which is derived from his two effects that the opponent can choose from:

  • 1st Effect - For every two cards in your Extra Deck, send one card from your hand and/or the Extra Deck to the Graveyard. Most used for this Deck variant.
  • 2nd Effect - Return all Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monsters you control to the Extra Deck; essentially a board-wipe.
Cards Self-discard Effect
Danger! Nessie! Effect: Searches out any Danger! card from the Deck other than a copy of itself.
Use: Used to further mill your Deck.
Danger! Mothman! Effect: Both players draw a card and then discard 1 card from their hand.
Use: Used to consistently send cards from your hand to the Graveyard
Danger!? Jackalope? Effect: Special Summon any Danger! monster from the deck except for this card in defense position.
Use: Used to pick the necessary monsters for Chaos Angel's Synchro Summon.

The Danger! Engine lets the opponent randomly discard a card from your hand to draw from your Main Deck. If a Danger! monster discards a card other than itself, they can be Special Summoned. If a Danger! monster discards itself, an additional effect triggers.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel - Maxx C

Maxx "C" is the standard monster handtrap included in this Deck. Maxx "C" can either stop the opponent from playing to avoid giving you a massive card advantage or leave you with enough cards to OTK the opponent.

Spells

Card of the Soul

Card of the Soul is mainly used to search out either Obelisk the Tormentor or Dogmatika Alba Zoa during the first turn. This is achieved since this Spell Card lets you check your Main Deck to add a Monster whose sum of ATK and DEF equals your LP.

Extra-Foolish Burial Foolish Burial Goods

Extra Foolish Burial lets you send an Extra Deck Monster to the Graveyard, triggering their effects as soon as the effect resolves. With the Extra Deck options, you should have numerous options depending on the situation.

Foolish Burial Goods, on the other hand, lets you send a Spell or Trap to the Graveyard. For this Deck, it is just another means to send Soul Energy MAX!!! to the Graveyard.

Soul Crossing The Breaking Ruin God

These 2 Spell Cards make Obelisk the Tormentor the threat fitting of his status: a God!

Soul Crossing lets you Tribute 3 monsters on the field to Summon a Divine-Beast Monster. This Tributing effect includes your opponent's cards, so it is a free board wipe.

However, after the effect resolves, you can only activate 1 Card or Effect per turn apart from a Divine Beast until the end of the next turn. Use this when you can finish the opponent off!

The Breaking Ruin God safely lets you conduct a Special Summon for Obelisk the Tormentor without any Tributes.

The Breaking Ruin God's true strength blossoms when it is in the Graveyard. When you Tribute two or more monsters to activate an effect while Obelisk is on the field, you can banish this card from the Graveyard to banish all monsters from your opponent's Graveyard and deal 500 damage for each card banished.

Dogmatikalamity Dogmatikamatrix

Dogmatikalamity is the Deck's main Ritual Spell. This Ritual Spell is mainly used to Tribute Five-Headed Dragon from the Extra Deck for the Ritual Summon of Dogmatika Alba Zoa.

Dogmatikamatrix acts as the main searcher for either Dogmatikalamity or Dogmatika Alba Zoa. This Spell Card, as an additional effect, also lets you check either your or the opponent's Extra Deck and send one monster to Graveyard, which achieves different goals:

  • Your Extra Deck: Lets you access the Graveyard Effects of your Extra Deck Monsters.
  • Your Opponent's Extra Deck: Further limits the opponent by sending a key Extra Deck Monster to the Graveyard.

Traps

Paleozoic Marrella Trap Trick

These two Traps bring out the other Traps either on the field or the Graveyard.

Paleozoic Marrella, as soon as it is activated, lets you send a Trap Card from the Main Deck to the Graveyard.

Trap Trick, when resolved, lets you Banish a Normal Trap from your Deck to set a card with the same name unto the field. Choose these Trap Cards depending on the situation:

  • Dogmatika Punishment: If you cannot set up the Obelisk OTK.
  • Soul Energy MAX!!!: If you can set up the Obelisk OTK

Master Duel - Dogmatika Punishment
Dogmatika Punishment offers two possible interruptions for the Deck as it sends an Extra Deck Monster to the Graveyard to destroy an opponent's monster. After the effect resolves, the Extra Deck monster sent to the Graveyard activates its effect.

Master Duel - Soul Energy MAX!!!

Soul Energy MAX!!! has two uses, both integral to the Deck's game plan:

  1. Sent to the Graveyard: By banishing this card, you can search Obelisk the Tormentor from the Main Deck.
  2. Set on the Field: On activation, Tribute two monsters on your side of the field to destroy as many monsters as your opponent controls. If you do, deal 4000 damage to their LP.

The Breaking Ruin God triggers its effect from the Graveyard if Soul Energy MAX!!!'s effect on the field resolves, potentially finishing the Duel.

Extra Deck Monsters

As for the Extra Deck Monsters, it is mostly composed of monsters that activate their effects when they are sent to the Graveyard. Adjust accordingly to the situation to send the most appropriate monster to the Graveyard.

Extra Deck Monster Sent to GY Effect
Elder Entity N Elder Entity N'tss Destroys a card on the field.
Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Garura, Wings of Resonant Life Draw 1 card.
Fossil Machine Skull Wagon Fossil Machine Skull Wagon Banish this Card from the Graveyard, target and destroy a Spell/Trap on the field.
Fossil Warrior Skull Knight Fossil Warrior Skull Knight Banish this Card from the Graveyard, target and destroy a Monster on the field.
Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Titaniklad the Ash Dragon Adds or Special Summons a "Dogmatika" Monster from the Deck during the End Phase.
Granguignol the Dusk Dragon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon Banishes itself from the GY to Special Summon a "Dogmatika" Monster from the Deck.
Five-Headed Dragon Five-Headed Dragon Does not have an effect but is used as Ritual Material for Dogmatika Alba Zoa.
Herald of the Arc Light Herald of the Arc Light Adds any Ritual Spell or Ritual Monster from the Deck to hand.
Deep Sea Prima Donna Deep Sea Prima Donna Recycles any banished card back to the Deck.
Wind Pegasus @Ignister Wind Pegasus @Ignister Target then shuffle a card your opponent controls back to their Deck.
Chaos Angel Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir

On the off chance that you would need to access your Extra Deck, these are the situational Summons.

Chaos Angel can be accessed through your Danger! Monsters even without a Tuner since this card can treat a LIGHT or DARK monster as Tuners. On Synchro Summon, you can target and banish 1 card on the field, and all your monsters cannot be destroyed by battle.

Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir is accessible since this Deck hosts a significant amount of Level 4 cards to use for its Xyz Summon. Bagooska is known for its Defense Position effect, wherein all monsters will be forced into the Defense position on Summon, negating their effects.

Boss Monsters

Obelisk the Tormentor
Obelisk the Tormentor Obelisk the Tormentor is the card this Deck is centered around. On Normal Summon, Obelisk is untargetable while all cards and effects cannot be activated. When Obelisk is on your Field or Hand, this Deck's boardwipes through Soul Crossing and Soul Energy MAX!!! become active.
Dogmatika Alba Zoa
Dogmatika Alba Zoa Dogmatika Alba Zoa's main role in this Deck is to stack the opponent's Graveyard for Soul Energy MAX!!!. This role is achieved by letting the opponent send their cards to the Graveyard depending on the amount of cards in their Extra Deck. Alba Zoa can also neuter combo-based Decks by letting the opponent choose to return their Extra-Deck monsters.

Best Decks to Use Against Obelisk

Runick

Master Duel - Runick Top Image

Since Runick Decks fully rely on their spells and have multiple copies of their boss monsters in their Extra Deck that they can expend, this Obelisk Deck is not able to interfere with their game plan.

Furthermore, Runick Decks can easily protect their monsters from destruction effects, neutering Obelisk's strong board wipes.

Floowandereeze

Master Duel - Floowandereeze Top Image

A Floowandereeze deck rarely relies on its Extra Deck and uses its Normal/Tribute Summons to hinder their opponent. In that sense, this particular Obelisk Deck cannot limit the Floowandereeze player's gameplan.

Floowandereeze Deck Guide

Kashtira

Master Duel - Kashtira

Kashtira has the infamous ability to Banish your keycards from the Main Deck and lock out your Monster Zones. When either Obelisk or Alba Zoa gets banished, the duel is essentially over.
