By all accounts, Arcana Force should not be really playable in a meta sense, due to its reliance on Coin Flip effects on a lot of their cards—mostly their Monster Cards. Some effects are better than others, which is why it is essential to get certain cards on the field to make the result work for you.
With the release of the Battle of Destiny Selection Pack, the playstyle has now changed. It can now make use of a certain set of cards which, when pulled of right, can outright skip the opponent's next turn, and go immediately into your next one. Destiny truly is in the cards with Arcana Force.
If we do not include the various outside support and hand traps that come in a modern meta Deck, an Arcan Force Deck can be essentially split into three categories of cards: the Searchers, the Turn Skippers, and the OTK Enablers.
Light Force can be considered a one-card combo starter for the Deck, as it searches two Arcana Force monsters from its effect alone. It also provides a small stat boost, but that's more active when Light Barrier is active.
For Arcana Reading, you always want to call Heads for its search effect as it adds a card with a Coin Toss effect to the hand. It can also banish itself to grant you one more Normal Summon outside of your usual 1 per turn.
Arcana Spread has both effects that will be to your benefit, and you can only use it once per turn so make it count. The first time you use this, call Heads to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Arcana Force monster from the Deck. The second time, you must call tails, as that will enable you to get The World on the field and use its Turn Skip effect.
Arcana Force XV - The Fiend can be discarded to get the Field Spell Light Barrier, and that's its only role. It can be used for additional padding on the field, but Light Barrier is more important.
Arcana Force V - The Hierophant is protection for certain effects like Infinite Impermanence and Nibiru, but both of its Coin Flip effects are essential. You use Tails for the Special Summon to the opponent's field on Turn 1, then Turn 2 it's the Heads effect for its Special Summon of usually The Hierophant or The Emperor.
Arcana Force XIX - The Sun is the most crucial of the three, as it can search out the three Spell Cards aforementioned: Light Force, Arcana Reading and Arcana Spread.
This is the centerpiece of the Deck, and the one effect that must successfully resolve among all else: Arcana Force XXI - The World. With Light Barrier active, you can choose heads, and during the End Phase it can skip the opponent's turn by tributing two monsters on your field.
The way the tribute effect is worded means it can also tribute itself as part of the cost, so The World does not stick long to the field. Its sole job is to make sure the opponent cannot play and it loops back to your turn next.
Once the Turn Skip is complete and it goes back to your turn, it's now a matter of getting your powerful monsters on the field again. A second copy of Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler is easy to get by repeating the steps from the previous turn, but the game-ender will be Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler.
By calling Heads, The Dark Ruler gets to attack twice in this Battle Phase, but will be forced to Defense Position at the end of the Phase. However, at that point it does not matter, as this boss monster can hit the opponent twice—for a minimum of 4300 ATK per attack.
All you need to enable the Turn Skip is to make sure you get the right cards on the field, hence the huge number of searchers for in the Deck. Mostly, however, all you need is one copy of Light Force.
| Card(s) Needed | |
|---|---|
| Step | Description |
| 1 | Activate Light Force, and use its effect; discard a card, then add Arcana Force XV - The Fiend and Arcana Force XIX - The Sun. Then, activate XV - The Fiend from the hand; discard it to search a copy of Light Barrier to the hand. Activate the Field Spell immediately. |
| 2 | Activate Arcana Force XIX - The Sun from the hand; Special Summon it to the field (condition fulfilled due to Light Barrier). On summon, activate its effect; with Light Barrier's effect, choose Heads to set Arcana Reading from the Deck to the field. |
| 3 | Activate Arcana Reading, and choose heads for its coin flip effect; search and add Arcana Force V - The Hierophant to the hand. Normal Summon it afterwards, and choose Tails; Special Summon Arcana Force XXI - The World to the opponent's field. Note: If you happen to have copies of Triple Tactics Talent and Triple Tactics Thrust on hand, they can now be activated due to the usage of XXI - The World's effect. |
| 4 | Using the three monsters on either field, send them all to the GY to Contact Fusion Summon Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler. Then, activate its effect and choose Tails; add a copy of Arcana Spread from the Deck to the hand. Activate the Spell Card afterwards and choose Tails again; target and XXI - The World ahd Special Summon it to your field. |
| 5 | Upon Special Summoning Arcana Force XXI - The World to your field, activate its effect, and choose Heads. Proceed to the End Phase. |
| 6 | At the end of End Phase, trigger the Heads effect of Arcana Force XXI - The World; tribute itself and The Chaos Ruler to forcibly skip the opponent's entire turn. |
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Activate Light Force, and use its effect; discard a card, then add Arcana Force XV - The Fiend and Arcana Force XIX - The Sun. Then, activate XV - The Fiend from the hand; discard it to search a second copy of Light Barrier to the hand. |
| 3 | Activate Arcana Spread from the GY; banish it to add V - The Hierophant from the GY. Normal Summon it afterwards, and choose Heads for its effect; summon any Level 4 Arcana Force monster from the Deck. Go with Arcana Force IV - The Emperor and use its Heads effect for a small ATK boost to all Arcana Force monsters on your field. |
| 4 | Activate Arcana Reading, and choose heads for its coin flip effect; add V - The Hierophant from the Deck. Then, activate Arcana Reading's second effect from the GY; Normal Summon the newly-added Hierophant. Choose Tails, and summon anything to your opponent's field. |
| 5 | Using three Arcana Force monsters on either field (two in your field and one in the opponent's), send them all to the GY to Contact Fusion Summon the second copy of Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler. Then, activate its effect and choose Heads; Special Summon Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler from the Deck. |
| 6 | Upon Special Summon, call Heads for Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler. Now, it can attack twice during the Battle Phase, but is forced to Defense Postion at the end of the Phase. |

With the addition of the new Arcana Force cards from the Battle of Destiny Selection Pack, the entire strategy of the archetype now revolves around Arcana Force XXI - The World. THe goal is to activate its effect and make sure it lands on Heads; this enables the effect of skipping the opponent's turn by tributing 2 monsters during the End Phase. |
| Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler | |
|
|
Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler is one of the two monsters you would need to summon after skipping the enemy's turn through XXI - The World. This can be cheated out with the help of the Heads effect of Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler, and to ensure the OTK sticks, this monster can attack twice during the Battle Phase using its Heads effect. |
| Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler | |
|
|
You actually need at least two copies of Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler for the Turn Skip OTK to properly work. The first copy will be used on Turn 1 to be used as Tribute in order to skip the opponent's turn. The second copy will be summoned on Turn 2, and then use its effect to summon The Dark Ruler and hit for a combined total of over 10,000 ATK from battle damage. |

Centur-Ion is one of the best Synchro Decks in the game currently, and going first their set-up perfectly prevents the Arcana Force player from properly playing. They get especially dangerous with the Bystial Dragons, which will definitely target The World that is going to sit in the GY to get it on the field at some point.
Centur-Ion Deck List & Card Guide

Tearlaments can actually mess up a lot of the game plan Arcana Force needs, especially if they make use of cards that will mill the opponent's Deck.
Tearlaments Kashtira and The Zombie Vampire are going to be problematic against this Deck, and with Horus variants filling up the Monster zones, it will mess with the Turn Skip strategy even more as it denies access to Chaos Ruler.
Tearlaments Deck List & Card Guide

Kashtira is still king when it comes to punishing monster effects. Kashtira Unicorn can ruin Extra Decks, whiel Kashtira Fenrir can banish monsters it battles or cards on the field if the opponent uses a monster effect.
