Mature Chronicle | |
---|---|
Mature Chronicle gains counters every time a "Yubel" monster, or a monster that even mentions "Yubel" is Special Summoned. It can only use its effect once per turn, but depending on how many counters it spends to trigger said effect. It can range from banishing cards from the Deck, to a Special Summon of Yubel, to even a search for Super Polymerization | |
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon | |
Another popular Fusion Monster to bring out with the help of Super Polymerization, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon gains ATK equal to a Special Summoned monster on the field. It can also take on the effect of a Level 5 or higher monster on the field, allowing it to be used against the opponent. | |
Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare | |
Since the Deck already makes use of Terror Incarnate, technically the player has the option to run Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare. It has the common Yubel effects, but whenever it battles an opponent's monster, it destroys it after dealing damage equal to the monster's ATK. | |
Kaijus and Lava Golem | |
Some monsters on the field are too pesky for the Yubel line to deal with, thus Kaijus can technically work. Lava Golem has high ATK and deals burn damage to the owner (aka the opponent), but needs at least two monsters on their side of the field to be brought out. The Kaijus only need one, but the opponent can only control 1 Kaiju monster. | |
Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis | |
Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis technically needs only one monster as material to be brought out, but doing so locks you out of Normal or Special Summons for the rest of the turn--this must be your last move before ending your turn. It stops monsters with 3000 or more ATK from activating their effects, and it can bounce a monster back to the hand by detaching a material. | |
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World | |
If your Main Monster Zones are too cluttered with monsters, you can resort to summoning Underworld Goddess of the Closed World. On summon, it negates all face-up monsters on the field for the rest of the turn, and once per turn it can negate Special Summon effects. Its most crucial effect is its summon requirements, where it can use one monster the opponent controls as material. |
Yubel finally becomes gets her own standalone Deck now that the titular card has received its archetype support, with the release of the Eternal Partners Selection Pack.
Most of their monsters will have 0 ATK, and this is crucial as it is either a requirement for effects to trigger, or to take full advantage of Yubel's signature effect: reflecting Battle Damage back to the opponent.
The new key monster that makes this Deck is Spirit of Yubel. Being able to Special Summon itself from the hand if the opponent launches an attack is very handy, and on Special Summon it can set a Spell or Trap Card from the Deck that mentions "Yubel".
If it gets destroyed, it can Special Summon a "Yubel" monster from basically anywhere: hand, Deck GY, or even from the Banishment.
Supporting the archetype first is Samsara D Lotus, which can get a "Yubel" monster from the Main Deck onto the field quickly and an effect-changing effect that makes the opponjent destroy a "Yubel" monster.
Gruesome Grave Squirmer can Special Summon itself if you control a 0 ATK monster, and provides a way to Special Summon a 0 ATK monster from the hand or GY.
For Spells, both are essential at 3 copies to maximize the chance of having them on hand when needed. Nightmare Pain acts as both a searcher, and card destruction for "Yubel" effects. Most importantly, it ensures that the Battle Damage reflection happens, even if the "Yubel" monsters have their effects negated.
Nightmare Throne, when activated, can either add or destroy a Fiend monster with 0 ATK/DEF. It also acts as an external floating effect, being able to replace a "Yubel" monster (ignoring summoning conditions) by another that is 1 Level higher or lower.
Phantom of Yubel is a unique Fusion Monster, as it only needs to shuffle back its material requirements to bring it out to the field. Once the opponent activates a monster effect, it can tribute itself to change it to "destroy a Yubel monster".
The more elusive boss monster to summon is Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever, and is the prime reason why Super Polymerization is so good on this Deck. It deals burn damaged based on the number of materials it used as Fusion material, and it banishes the monster it battles after damage calculation.
The original Yubel cards are also crucial here, as they can technically be summoned by most of the card effects from this Deck. These ones have downsides as a cost, however.
For the original "Yubel" it needs to tribute a monster, or it is automatically destroyed. Yubel - Terror Incarnate destroys all monsters on the field every End Phase--including your own.
The Dark Beckoning Beast engine, accompanied with Opening of the Spirit Gates, was originally meant for the Sacred Beasts. However, the support from Yubel cards has turned into a one-card combo starter outright, and it even provides an additional Normal Summon.
All of the important monsters in a Yubel Deck are Fiend-type monsters. This means that the players have access to a small Unchained Deck Engine, starting with Unchained Soul Lord of Yama, which searches out Unchained Soul of Sharvara.
This combo lends itself into Unchained Soul of Rage, which can Link Summon using a monster the opponent controls as material as a Quick Effect. This combo also searches out Escape of the Unchained, which provides card destruction and control on the field.

Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever | |
---|---|
Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever makes great use of its Fusion Material requirements, especially when brought out with the help of Super Polymerization. Immune to card destruction effects, it uses the signature Yubel effect of crashing against monsters, and dealing damage equal to the ATK of the opponent's monsters. | |
Phantom of Yubel | |
Another Yubel Fusion monster, and the first to summon before going into The Loving Defender Forever; Phantom of Yubel does not need Fusion Spells at all in order to be brought out. It can change a monster's effect to destroy a Yubel from anywhere, and that can lead into an easy Yubel boss monster immediately afterwards. | |
Unchained Abomination | |
All it takes is one Unchained monster in Unchained Soul of Sharvara, and it opens up the Unchained Monsters all the way to Unchained Abomination. Its card destruction effects both clear the field off of pesky monsters, and can be used on specific Yubel monsters to trigger their effects for your benefit! | |
Yubel - Terror Incarnate | |
As soon as the original Yubel gets sent to the GY, it can bring out Yubel - Terror Incarnate onto the field as a floating effect. Now it doesn't need the maintenance cost of tributing a monster once per turn, and it can wipe the field of monsters during your End Phase. | |
S:P Little Knight | |
Now a mandatory addition in every single Extra Deck, S:P Little Knight is a quick way to pivot into Link Monsters, as well as clear out cards out of the field. This is especially dangerous when it uses an Extra Deck monster as material, as it will banish a card from either the field or the hand. |
The dangerous part about Kashtira is that they punish their opponent with their Main Deck monsters as soon as they activate a monster effect. Fenrir can easily get rid of monsters, and Unicorn can mess up the Extra Deck with its banishes.
It gets worse when Kashtira Arise-Heart hits the field, immediately becoming a pseudo-Macro Cosmos and gains materials for every instance a card(s) is banished.
Kashtira Deck List & Card Guide
The monsters supporting Yubel are predominantly DARK monsters. As soon as they're in the Graveyard, they are immediately in danger of being banished thanks to the Bystial monsters.
Bystial Branded is a good and fun match-up against Yubel, and it all comes down to which Fusion set up has more advantage than the other can handle.
Bystial Branded Deck List & Card Guide
The Tearlaments like being sent to the GY from anywhere, and even being sent there via Super Polymerization's effect for an eventual Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever might prove to be disadvantageous if it ends up making Tearlaments have multiple boss monsters like Rulkallos and Kaleido-Heart immediately afterwards.
This is another fun match-up against Yubel, and it also comes down to which Fusion set up has more advantage than the other can handle. Variants of Tearlaments Decks like Horus and Mannadium might also be a good way to surprise Yubel players.
Tearlaments Deck List & Card Guide
While this might seem to be a stalemate as both Decks' key monsters have 0 ATK, what Yubel does not have are the Mikanko's preference to have Kaiju monsters or Lava Golem available, and Equip Spell Cards which can remove monsters from the field to get more of their Equip Spells.
For novice players, this match-up might prove to be a challenge. For more experienced players, this tests their mastery over their Deck and usage of Yubel cards.
Mikanko Deck List & Card Guide
Effect Veiler & Infinite Impermanence | |
---|---|
The targeted monster effect negations from these two cards can downright win the game against Yubel, so long as they are well-timed. Both Effect Veiler and Infinite Impermanence could stop the one-card combos provided by Samsara D Lotus and Dark Beckoning Beast, or it could just stop the Yubel mosnters from using their signature damage reflection effect. | |
Maxx "C" | |
Getting the key Yubel monsters out does require a considerable amount of Special Summons, which is why Maxx "C" continues to be a bane against combo Decks unless it is negated. It is either you win the game right then and there, or risk having to deal with giving your opponent a massive card advantage. | |
Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju | |
As aforementioned in the Mikanko spotlight above, the Kaiju monsters like Gameciel can easily remove monsters from the field by summoning this to their side. Of course, the one using the Kaijus have to be careful that the monster they are tributing to the GY does not have an effect that triggers when sent there. | |
Summon Limit | |
The combos of a Yubel Deck do have a considerable amount of Special Summons; limiting them with the help of Summon Limit might hinder their progress to getting to the Fusion variants. However, depending on how the player uses their Yubel Deck, they could very well use this card themselves. |

Runick is the most effective against Yubel Yubel cannot give any damage while having their deck slowly drained out.
