Dinosaur Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

The Dinosaurs excel in strong and fast-paced combos thanks to their ability to easily swarm the field. Dinosaurs also have a lot of agency when doing their combos with the help of Miscellaneousaurus, so even a large Meteor (Nibiru) is useless before their might.
Going Second is not a problem with Dinosaurs as well, since they can easily break boards and lay waste to anyone who opposes them.

Souleating Oviraptor Miscellaneousaurus Babycerasaurus Lost World Animadorned Archosaur

Souleating Oviraptor is your main combo starter along with Babycerasaurus and Lost World. Abusing Baby's non-once-per-turn effect is essential to the combo of this deck.
Animadorned Archosaur on the other hand will extend the combo with its effect while also searching for Double Evolution Pill.
Miscellaneousaurus provides massive protection to all of your Dinosaurs on the field, it provides protection to an opponent's activated effect. It also has a Graveyard effect that lets you Summon any Dinosaur from your Deck by banishing itself.

Scrap Raptor Scrap Chimera Scrap Wyvern

The Scrap engine excels on destroying itself or another card you control. Making it easier to destroy Babycerasaurus multiple times in one turn.
Scrap Raptor is a Dinosaur Type Monster, making it a valuable target for Babycerasaurus's effect. It is also Tuner which can lead to Synchro plays.
Scrap Chimera can be searched by Raptor's effect, and also used to Summon back Raptor from the graveyard.
Scrap Wyvern is another layer of extender for self-destruct plays.

Core Combos and Interactions

Standard Turn 1 Combo #1

This is the typical Dinosaur 2-card combo that can stem out differently, especially when going second.

Alternative Options

Dino Bishbaalkin FTK

Phantasmal Lord Ultimitl Bishbaalkin Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech Geonator Transverser

Dino Bishbaalkin FTK shares most of the Main and Extra Deck Monsters used in this Deck. WIth this, you can easily transition the gameplay of the Deck from a strong Turn 1 setup, brutal Turn 2 attacks, into an FTK.

More Info on Dino Bishbaalkin FTK here:
Dino Bishbaalkin FTK Deck List and Card Guide

True King

Dragonic Diagram True King Lithosagym, the Disaster True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher

The True King engine complements well with Dinosaur's self destroying strategy. Lithosagym can also rip your opponent's extra deck. While Agnimazud can banish one of your opponent's monster on the field or the Graveyard.

Yang Zing

Denglong, First of the Yang Zing Suanni, Fire of the Yang Zing Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing Nine Pillars of Yang Zing

Another Archetype that complements well with Dinosaurs is the Yang Zing. Commonly used in conjunction with the True King. Helps the deck with more Synchro plays and disruptions during the opponent's turn.
True King Yang Zing is a reminiscence of the Dinosaur's full strength back in the day.

Boss Monster

Ultimate Conductor Tyranno
Ultimate Conductor Tyranno Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, or UCT for short, is a large beatstick and the main attacker of the Deck. It also has a Quick-Effect similar to Book of Eclipse but only applies to your opponent's monster. UCT can also attack all of your opponent's monsters once each making it easier to destroy their board.
Borreload Savage Dragon
Borreload Savage Dragon Borreload Savage Dragon is a staple Level 8 Synchro Monster. You can easily summon this since the deck uses lots of level 4 monsters. It is a once per turn omni-negate and it also has a large attack.
Evolzar Dolkka
Evolzar Dolkka Evolzar Dolkka's effect is similar to Apollousa, but Dolkka Destroys and can also be used multiple times in the same chain.

Dinosaur Counters: How to Beat

Best Deck to Use Against Dinosaur

Drytron Fairy

Master Duel - Drytron Fairy Top Image

Drytrons possess multiple chain negates thanks to Herald of Ultimateness, making it hard for Dinosaur to even activate and resolve a single card.
Every single card is an important resource for Dinosaur, so getting continuously negated will be harsh for the deck.
Drytron Fairy Deck List and Card Guide

Gravekeeper's

Gravekeepers Top Image
Gravekeeper's focus on locking the Graveyard from outside effects, makes it harder for Dinosaurs to move freely. Gravekeeper's has a lot of floodgate effects that can greatly slow down and turn back dinosaurs to being fossils.
Gravekeeper's Deck List and Card Guide

Best Cards to Tech Against Dinosaur

Dimension Shifter
Dimension Shifter Dinosaur decks rely too much on the Graveyard to abuse the effect of Babycerasaurus, removing Dinosaur's access to the Graveyard is like hitting them with a big meteor.
Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion
Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion Ghost Belle can slow down the shenanigans of Dinosaurs as it negates the Special Summon of any Monster from the Graveyard.
Droll & Lock Bird
Droll & Lock Bird Even without abundant search cards, negating Dinosaur's first search can still slow the deck down as they will find it hard to have more resources ready on the field.
Artifact Lancea
Artifact Lancea Some of Dinosaur's combo involves Banishing cards, like Summoninig Ultimate Conductor Tyranno and Giant Rex. preventing them from banishing cards will stop them from Summoning further.
Necrovalley
Necrovalley Necrovalley locks any cards in the Graveyard, rendering Dinosaur's graveyard effects useless.
