D/D/D Aggro Breakdown

D/D/D Aggro Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

D/D/D is a very aggressive Deck that tests the player over their master of the different Extra Deck Special Summon methods. The more you can summon, the longer you can chain the combo. The end result of a good opening hand is a very powerful board that players could have difficulty dealing with without the proper counters, like negating Effects and having at least two monsters with high ATK.

Core Combos and Interactions

1 Activate D/D/D Oblivion King Ragnarok as a Pendulum Scale.
2 Normal Summon D/D Savant Kepler, and upon being Normal Summoned, search out Dark Contract with the Gate to add to your hand.
3 Activate Dark Contract with the Gate, and search out D/D Swirl Slime from your Deck to add to your hand.
4 Activate D/D Swirl Slime's effect to conduct a Fusion Summon using monsters in your hand.
5 Using D/D Swirl Slime and D/D Lamia as fusion material, Fusion Summon D/D/D Flame King Genghis.
6 Activate the effect of D/D Swirl Slime in the Graveyard, banish it and Special Summon D/D Savant Copernicus from your hand.
7 Activate the effect of D/D Savant Copernicus after being Special Summoned, and send a copy of D/D Necro Slime from the Deck to the Graveyard.
8 Chain the effect of D/D/D Flame King Genghis, and Special Summon D/D Lamia back to the field from the Graveyard.
9 Using D/D/D Flame King Genghis and D/D Lamia as Material, Synchro Summon D/D/D Gust King Alexander.
10 Upon Synchro Summon, activate the effect of D/D/D Oblivion King Caesar from your Pendulum Zone, pay 1000 Life Points, and Special Summon D/D Lamia from the Graveyard once again.
11 Activate the effect of D/D/D Gust King Alexander, and Special Summon from your Graveyard D/D Necro Slime.
12 Using D/D Necro Slime and D/D Savant Kepler as Material, Link Summon D/D/D Abyss King Gilgamesh.
13 Using D/D Lamia's effect, send the copy of Dark Contract with the Gate to the Graveyard, and Special Summon it one last time.
14 Using D/D Lamia and D/D/D Gust King Alexander as Synchro Material, Synchro Summon D/D/D Cursed King Siegfried.
14 Activate the effect of D/D Necro Slime from the Graveyard, banish this card and D/D/D Flame King Genghis, and Fusion Summon D/D/D Flame High King Genghis.

Boss Monsters

D/D/D Cursed King Siegfried
D/D/D Cursed King Siegfried Cursed King Siegfried has the ability to negate a face-up Spell or Trap, and it is a Quick Effect, meaning it can work as a chain after the opponent activates a Spell or Trap on either player's turn. It can provide a bit of survivability if this card gets destroyed by battle of card effect, giving Life Points based on the number of Dark Contract cards face-up on the player's field.
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon is another Synchro monster that provides protect against the opponent's monster effect, and it is also a Quick Effect. This is the best protection this Deck has against hand traps, so it may be of best interest to get this boss monster out as part of the combo.
Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy
Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy can be run as the Deck has rather easy access to Level 8 monsters. Another Quick Effect, not only can this card negate Spell Cards, it absrobs them and is attached to this card on the field as Xyz Material. Lastly, it has the ability to redirect attacks on other monsters to this card instead.
D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga
D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga is considered as a last resort card, and is as accessible as Number 38. This card, upon being Xyz Summoned, immediately negates all other cards on the field, and prevents any other cards from being activated on the field.
D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok
D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok is a second last option, and is great against a board full of high-ATK monsters. Always attack the monster with the lowest ATK with this card, as it can activate its effect during the Damage Step, steals an opponent's monster of choosing that is not the monster this card is attacking, and gains ATK based on the ATK of the absorbed monster.

D/D/D Doom King Armageddon can be run as another D/D/D card to fulfill some of the Fusion monster requirements that need a D/D/D monster as material.
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis is a popular Rank 8 Xyz Monster to splash for its ability to destroy multiple cards on the field.
D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon can replace Oblivion Wave King Caesar Ragnarok as a high-level Fusion monster, and can destroy a monster with added burn damage.
Solemn Scolding can work as an alternative while saving materials to craft Solemn Judgment.
Dark Contract with the Witch can swap out Bottomless Trap Hole on occasion, granting the ability to destroy a card on the field so long as there is a D/D monster on the field.
Dark Contract with Errors acts as a D/D-exclusive version of Royal Decree, negating all Trap Cards on command while this card is face-up on the field.

D/D/D Aggro Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against D/D/D Aggro

HERO

HERO Decks have extremely potent ways of getting around D/D/D's effects, whether it's through Quick-Play Spells like Mask Change and Super Polymerization, or with disrupting monsters like Masked HERO Dark Law (automatically banishes any card sent to the GY), Elemental HERO Wild Tornado (halves the ATK of all opponent's monsters), or Evil HERO Malicious Bane (destroys all monsters with ATK less than this card).

Invoked Dogmatika

This is a Deck that is designed to counter Extra Deck Monsters, and D/D/Ds are known for Special Summoning as much of them as possible. Even having one on the field lets them Special Summon monsters from the hand and becomes immune to being destroyed while battling them (Adin, Ecclesia and Theo) , and they are even harder to deal with when given the Invoker engine.

Blackwing

Blackwings, much like HEROes, have ways of getting around the best D/D/D has to offer, and they even have a stronger set of Synchro Monsters like Blackwing Full Armored Master (has the ability to destroy all monsters) and Assault Blackwing - Onimaru the Divine Thunder (6000 ATK is monstrous against nearly all D/D/D Extra Deck monsters).

Burning Abyss

While Burning Abyss's boss monsters do not have the same firepower as D/D/D has, they do have something over D/D/D as one of the best Decks in the game in terms of consistency. They also have a line-up of Trap Cards (like Fire Lake of the Burning Abyss) that can be hard to deal with if D/D/D does not have any cards that can deal with them.

Eldlitch Control

D/D/D's endgame is to have as many monsters on the field as possible to deal with all the possible counters. Eldlitch Decks prefer a pure one-on-one through cards like Rivalry of Warlords and getting the opponent to lose battles a lot with Guardian of the Golden Land. The moment this Deck has one Eldlitch on the field and in the Graveyard, it has secured its win condition.

Best Cards to Tech Against D/D/D Aggro

Nibiru, the Primal Being
Nibiru, the Primal Being A normal D/D/D combo will definitely go above five summons; Nibiru, the Primal Being can derail all that by sending all of the monsters to the Graveyard as tribute fodder. Be careful, however, as using Nibiru when there are serveral high ATK monsters means players will have to deal with a token given to the opponent that can easily have over 10000 ATK.
Maxx "C"
Maxx "C" Maxx "C" is the worst hand trap a D/D/D Deck user can deal with, unless they manage to negate the effect before it resolves. Once this card is activated during a D/D/D player's turn, they are immediately discouraged from chaining Special Summons unless they can somehow deal with the opponent having a massive hand come their turn.
Summon Limit
Summon Limit Summon Limit puts a cap on how many monsters both players can summon in a turn. It counts both Normal Summons and Special Summons, and D/D/D Decks need both to do as many Summons as possible to even have a proper board.
Anti-Spell Fragrance
Anti-Spell Fragrance Anti-Spell Fragrance shuts down two key cards within the Deck, the two important Dark Contract Continuous Spells. It locks out the Deck from searching out a D/D monster, or from conducting another Fusion Summon.
