Amazoness Breakdown

Alternate Cards for Amazoness

Dramatic Rescue
Dramatic Rescue Dramatic Rescue can be a surprise choice, but its effect to save a monster from being targeted, then being able to Special Summon a monster from the hand (including non-"Amazoness" monsters), can be a good surprise. Depending on the monster, it can be a great transition to a different Deck Engine, or just a chance to summon a better monster.
Amazoness Spy
Amazoness Spy Amazoness Spy can make a case for itself for a must-have in the main Deck Recipe. It can Special Summon itself from the hand as a free body, and when destroyed by battle it can retrieve an "Amazoness" monster from the GY back to the hand.
Bystial Engine
Bystial Magnamhut Bystial Druiswurm With the surge of support for archetypes involving LIGHT and DARK monsters, a good Deck Engine that takes minimal space are the Bystial Dragons.
Fusion Deployment
Fusion Deployment A couple of the "Amazoness" cards are specifically listed as material for some of the archetype's Fusion Monsters. This enables them to be Special Summoned with the effect of Fusion Deployment.
Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights
Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights Most of the "Amazoness" mosnters are Warrior-type, which is what is needed to summon Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights. Though, to make use of this Link Monster properly, players will have to load up on Equip Spells to toss to the Graveyard to activate its effect.

Boss Monsters

Amazoness Empress
Amazoness Empress So long as Amazoness Empress is on the field, all other "Amazoness" monsters you control are immune from card and battle destruction, and also gain piercing battle damage. If this card gets destroyed by battle or card effect, this card can cheat out Amazoness Queen from the Deck.
Amazoness Pet Liger King
Amazoness Pet Liger King Amazoness Pet Liger King is a much stronger version of Amazoness Pet Liger. It acts as a taunter to redirect all attacks to itself, protecting other monsters you control. It also can swap out monsters you have on the field and in the GY via card destruction, at the cost of attacking for that turn.
Amazoness Augusta
Amazoness Augusta Amazoness Augusta provides additional protection to other "Amazoness" monsters you control, making them immune to targeted card efects. This card Special Summons a different "Amazoness" monster from the Deck on Fusion Summon, and if this was summoned using either Amazoness Queen or Amazoness Empress as material, this boss monster can attack twice per Battle Phase.
Guardian Chimera
Guardian Chimera All Guardian Chimera needs as material are three different monsters with different names, and at least one of those materials must come from the hand. Depending on the number of materials used from both areas respectively, this card can draw cards and destroy cards on the field simultaneously. In addition, this card becomes immune to targeted card effects while Polymerization is in your GY.

Amazoness Counters: How to Beat

Best Decks to Use Against Amazoness

Primite Blue-Eyes

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

With the addition of the Primite Engine, Blue-Eyes White Dragon decks are now at the very peak of their power level. Not only do they have extremely powerful monsters at their disposal, they have enough space for negates and hand traps, and even the capability to play through interruptions themselves.

The usual combo that ends with Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon and Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon can net players with at least 3 negates, including one from the GY. One more can come from Primite Drillbeam, and potentially 3 more of the opponent decides to run Dragon Master Magia.

Primite Blue-Eyes Deck Guide

Tenpai Dragon

Tenpai Dragon

There is no better Deck that makes use of the Battle Phase than the Tenpai Dragons. Even with so many key cards hit recently, like Sangen Kaimen and Tenpai Chundra Dragon being Limited, all it needs is a clear path and a single good card to win the game.

The Deck is loaded of board wipes, interruptions and hand traps that it really does prefer going second most of the time. This Deck can technically go first, but countermeasures must be placed in order to survive at least the opponent's Battle Phase.

Tenpai Dragon Deck List & Card Guide

Yubel

Yubel

A rule of thumb is to never attack a "Yubel" monster, and the Deck is loaded with it. Most notable among the monsters in the Deck is Spirit of Yubel, which can easily set up Nightmare Pain--the Spell Card that enables all of the Deck's shenanigans.

The flexibilty of this Deck is also very dangerous to consider. It can make use of Super Polymerization to fuse away the Amazoness monsters, and some version can make use of the Fiendsmith Engine for Lacrima's burn damage and Rank 6 access and Desirae with its negation Quick Effect.

Best Cards to Tech Against Amazoness

Skill Drain
Skill Drain Most of the card effects triggered by "Amazoness" monsters are resolved on the field. Skill Drain easily denies them that opportunity, so long as this Continuous Trap Card is face-up and active.
Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir
Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir The Amazoness archetype likes going on the offensive, thus having Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir is a solid option against this Deck. So long as this Xyz Monster is on the field in Defense Position, all other monsters are forced to Defense Position as well, and Effect Monsters of those are negated while they are in that position.
Lightning Storm
Lightning Storm Out of the field clearing cards that are in the game, Lightning Storm has the most versatility. At the cost of only being able to use while you control no cards, this card can either wreck the opponent's backrow, or destroy all monsters they control that are in Attack Position.
Dimensional Barrier
Dimensional Barrier An Amazoness Deck's ability to access the Extra Deck is rather telegraphed, considering as there are cards needed to conduct a Fusion Summon to access the archetype's Fusion Monsters. Expect Trap-heavy Decks to run at least a copy or two of Dimensional Barrier to stop specific Extra Deck attempts for a turn.
