Gandora Danger! Deck Guide: How to Play

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - Gandora the Dragon of Destruction How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

This Gandora Danger! deck variation is centered around stacking your Graveyard and banish zones with the Danger! monsters to enable the Boss Monster of the Deck, Gandora the Dragon of Destruction!

The Deck relies on its ability to OTK the opponent. This is achieved by having strong board wipes and high ATK monsters with Number 100: Numeron Dragon or Gigarays Gandora Dragon serving as the deck's main win condition.

Core Combos and Interactions

This deck's endboard relies on whether or not the Danger! monsters can Special Summon or discard themselves. There is no set combo and what the field would look like is volatile, incentivizing the player to adjust on the fly and be creative!

Gigarays Combo

This combo showcases a first-turn combo using Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction to end on an interruption and stacking both the banish zone and a Gandora monster to the Graveyard for future turns.

Main Deck

Monsters

Gandora the Dragon of Destruction

Gandora the Dragon of Destruction, if Normal Summoned, can let you pay half of your Lifepoints to destroy then banish all cards on the field except itself. Afterward, its ATK grows depending on the amount of cards it destroyed through its effect.

Keep in mind, however, that it will be sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase, so this card should only be used as a last resort and mostly as discard fodder for Gigarays.

Amount of Gandora Cards in the Graveyard
Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction 1x: Destroy all other cards on the field
2x: banish all other cards on the field.
3x: banish all other cards on the field and GYs

Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction's can be Special Summoned by sending 2 monsters from the field and/or hand to the Graveyard. This card's ATK grows by 300 for each card in the banish zone.

You can pay half of your Lifepoints to activate his effect which increases in lethality depending on the amount of Gandora cards in the Graveyard.

Eater of Millions Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher

These 2 monster cards are responsible for filling the banish zone through their effects.

Eater of Millions easily fills up the banish zone due to its Summon condition, wherein you need to banish 5 cards from your hand, field, or Extra Deck. Further banishing cards face-down increases his ATK by 100. If this card engages in battle, you can banish that card instead.

Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher single-handedly acts as an extender for XYZ Summons and fuels the banish zone. Orochi has a simple effect; when he is in the hand or graveyard, this card can banish the top 8 cards of the deck to Special Summon itself.

Orochi has an additional effect where it can banish any 3 cards from your Extra Deck to target and destroy a face-up card on the field. Only use this effect if you are sure you can end the duel!

Gameciel the Sea Turtle Kaiju

Since this deck relies on finishing the opponent through battle, Gameciel the Sea Turtle Kaiju is included to act as a target for your attacks due to its low stats.

Gameciel is exceptionally potent when you are going second as you can Tribute any monster card your opponent controls to Special Summon Gameciel in their place. When going first, Gameciel is only discard fodder for your Danger! cards.

Dimension Shifter

Dimension Shifter directly supports your banish-centric game plan with Gandora while locking out your opponent from their Graveyard until the end of the next turn.

However, if your hand is filled with Danger! monsters, it is not recommended to use Dimension Shifter's effect; hence there is only one copy of this card in the deck.

Fairy Tail - Snow

Fairy Tail - Snow, if you can send it in the Graveyard, can banish 7 from your hand, field, and/or graveyard to Special Summon itself. It can use its effect as a pseudo-negate by targeting 1 monster your opponent controls to flip them into a face-down defense position.

Danger! Bigfoot! Danger! Nessie! Danger! Thunderbird!

The Danger! Engine, with their discard effects, is responsible for both thinning out the Deck and sending our extra copies of Gandora to the Graveyard.

If a Danger! monster discards a card other than themself, they can Special Summon themself. With this effect, they can be used to access Number XYZ Monsters. Apart from that initial effect, if a particular Danger! monster discards itself, an additional effect triggers.

Danger! Bigfoot!, Danger! Thunderbird, and Danger! Nessie! are included for the high-level Danger! monsters. Their additional effects when they are discarded are:

  • Bigfoot!: Target a face-up card on the opponent's field, and destroy it.
  • Thunderbird!: Target a Set card the opponent controls, and destroy it.
  • Nessie!: Searches out any Danger! card from the Deck other than a copy of itself.
Danger! Chupacabra! Danger! Mothman! Danger!? Tsuchinoko? Danger!? Jackalope?

Danger! Chupacabra!, Danger! Mothman!, Danger!? Tsuchinoko?, and Danger!? Jackalope? are what comprises the low-level Danger! monsters. These monsters are used to net you card advantage! If they are discarded, these are their effects

  • Chupacabra!: Special Summon any Danger! monster from the Graveyard except for this card.
  • Mothman!: Both players draw a card and then discard 1 card from their hand.
  • Tsuchinoko?: Special Summon itself.
  • Jackalope?: Special Summon any Danger! monster from the deck except for this card in defense position.

Broww Hunstman of Dark World

Broww Hunstman of Dark World is included here as a means to generate more card advantage by drawing 1 card if he is to be discarded.

In rare situations, you can Normal Summon Broww if you have a Level 3 monster on the field to perform a Level 3 XYZ Summon.

Spells

Allure of Darkness The Beginning of the End Pot of Desires

These 3 spells take advantage that the main deck is mostly comprised of Dark monsters by allowing you to draw cards at the cost of banishing said monsters.

Allure of Darkness lets you draw 2 cards then banish a Dark monster afterwards. If you are not able to do so, your entire hand will go to the Graveyard, so be careful!

Since you can stack your Graveyard full of Dark Monsters, The Beginning of the End can net you massive card advantage by banishing 5 Dark monsters from your Graveyard to draw 3 cards. This can also be used as a finisher to boost Gandora's ATK!

Pot of Desires, when activated, sends 10 cards from the top of your Deck to the banish zone face-down to draw 2 cards. This massively boosts the ATK of any banish-based monsters on your field, especially Eater of Millions.

Card Destruction Trade-In Foolish Burial

The following spells are focused on sending most of your cards to the Graveyard.

Card Destruction lets both players send their current hands to draw the same amount. This lets you thin the deck and possibly be able to send either Orochi or Fairy Tail - Snow.

The main deck hosts several Level 8 monsters, warranting the use of Trade-in. This card lets you discard a monster of appropriate level to draw 2 cards. Optimally, this should be used on Gizmek Orochi, a Gandora monster, or a high-level Danger! monster.

Foolish Burial simply lets you send any monster from the Deck to the Graveyard. Sending Fairy Tail - Snow or Gizmek Orochi is commonly sent, but you can also send a Gandora monster to strengthen a possible Gigarays play!

Called by the Grave

Called by the Grave acts as a standard handtrap for countering other handtraps such as Maxx-C and Ash Blossom. Especially since this deck focuses on accessing your main deck, you would need this card to function without interruption.

Extra Deck Monsters

This deck does not have an archetype-unique Extra Deck Monster. To make up for that, a mix of situational XYZ and Link monsters build up the Extra Deck.

Number 97: Draglubion Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy Number 100: Numeron Dragon

For the Level 8 XYZ Summons, this deck includes the Number Dragon Engine.

Number 97: Draglubion is mostly what will be XYZ Summoned as this card can access the other 2 Number Dragons. Draglubion cannot be targeted by card effects, and if you detach 1 material, you can take 2 Dragon "Number" monsters to Special Summon 1 while attaching the other as material.

Since Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy can negate any effect activated on the field and attach it as material, it is recommended to Special Summon him when going first. Also, he can send Numeron Dragon to the Graveyard, enabling its defensive capabilities.

Number 100: Numeron Dragon can detach a material to gain ATK equal to the combined Levels of all XYZ monsters on the field, making it a strong finisher. Special Summon this card using Draglubion's effect if you are going second.

Also, if this card is in the graveyard while you have no cards in the hard or field, you can Special Summon this card in the Defense position as a last resort.

Abyss Dweller Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir

These are the Level 4 XYZ Summons; mostly composed of strong floodgates when you can get them out.

Abyss Dweller can detach a material as a Quick Effect to disable the opponent from activating cards in their Graveyard.

Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir is an XYZ Monster that detaches a material when it reaches your Standby Phase. This card changes its effects depending on its face-up battle position, which are:

  • Attack Position: This card cannot be destroyed and targeted with any card effects.
  • Defense Position: Change all face-up cards on the field into Defense Position, and negate any activated effects of monsters in Defense Position when that effect was activated.
Number 49: Fortune Tune Number 3: Cicada King

These are the Level 3 XYZ Summons, composed of monsters with reliable defensive countermeasures.

Number 49: Fortune Tune can be defined as an annoying monster as it is hard to get rid of and can recycle itself and other cards from the Graveyard. Every Standby Phase, you get 500 Lifepoints. Both you and the opponent are unable to target this card, and if it is to be destroyed, it can instead detach a material.

Number 3: Cicada King is more commonly XYZ Summoned due to its effect being able to negate a monster effect and change itself into Defense Position. If it changes battle positions, it can Special Summon Danger! Mothman! from your hand or Graveyard in Defense Position, further providing defense.

Master Duel - Topologic Zeroboros

Topologic Zeroboros is a monster that thrives and strengthens banish-based decks. This card gains 200 ATK for every banished card and it is possible to reach over 10,000 ATK with this deck.

Furthermore, if any Monster is Special Summoned to a zone this card links to, banish the whole field and bring this card back on the next Standby Phase.

Master Duel - Saryuja Skull Dread

Saryuja Skull Dread is what this deck often Link Summons during their first turn since it is used as a means to search out more of the Deck to fill the banish zone. More specifically, Saryuja gains effects based on the amount of materials used for its Link Summon:

  • 2x: If a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to a zone this card points to: That monster(s) gains 300 ATK/DEF
  • 3x: Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand.
  • 4x: Draw 4 cards, then place 3 cards from your hand on the bottom of your Deck in any order.
Knightmare Cerberus Knightmare Phoenix Knightmare Unicorn

Since this Deck can flood the board with Danger! monsters, running the Knightmare Engine for certain situations is warranted. When they are Link summoned each Monster has a different effect that interferes with the opponent when they discard a card from Hand.:

  • Knightmare Cerberus: Target 1 and Destroy a Special Summoned Monster.
  • Knightmare Phoenix: Target 1 and Destroy a Spell or Trap Card.
  • Knightmare Unicorn: Target 1 and Shuffle a Card on the Field back to the Deck.
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess I:P Masquerena

These are the situational Link Summons and are mostly banished. They will rarely come out, but it is good to have them for certain moments nonetheless.

  • Underworld Goddess of the Closed World: Used when you need to remove an uninteractable monster from the opponent's side of the field.
  • Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess: Used as a possible entry during extended combos for 3-4 omni-negates.
  • I:P Masquerena: Can summon the Knightmare Monsters during the opponent's turn.

Boss Monsters

Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction
Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction Through the amount of discards this Deck has with the help of the Danger! Engine, Gigarays Gandora the Dragon of Destruction becomes especially potent as it is likely that 1-2 "Gandora" will be sent to the Graveyard. If so, Gigarays Gandora can wipe the board by either Destroying or Banishing them.
Number 97: Draglubion
Number 97: Draglubion Number 97: Draglubion, by attaching another XYZ Number Dragon card from your Extra Deck, lets you access either a effect/spell negate every turn (Hope Harbinger) or a duel ender (Numeron Dragon).
Topologic Zeroboros
Topologic Zeroboros Topologic Zeroboros stats scale depending on the number of banished cards from both players. Zeroboros is also able to lock-out the Extra Monster Zone, and if any Monster is Special Summoned to a Zone a Link Monster is pointing to, Banish all cards on the field. If Zeroboros if Banished by their own effect, Special Summon Zeroboros during the Standby Phase
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World Underworld Goddess of the Closed World is mainly used to remove an uninteractable Monster on the field, using that monster as material to Link Summon this monster. When summoned, she negates all monsters the opponent controls on the field, and is able to negate any Special Summon effects.
